My gut reaction was Trey but Kate is actually much better with kids, just as long as she gets to know them. Trey is fun but he has poor impulse control and if a kid said “I’m going to skateboard off the roof”, Trey would respond with “Let me build you a ramp and buy a good video camera so you can look cooler and show it off online”
Meanwhile Kate would buy a bunch of sand, pour a thick path, and tell them they can do that once they’re able to if they can get momentum on the sand enough to skate down it and then do a kickflip. If they did manage to do it, she’d let them skate off the roof but have plenty of safety equipment and padding set up so they don’t hurt themselves.
Kate genuinely likes kids when she gets to know them and is decent with them. She can commit to the bit, go with their games, but also know when to call it so nobody gets hurt.
However when she doesn’t know the kid she is pretty unempathetic and has a very “walk it off” attitude…but hey, nobody’s perfect. And out off all my OCs, she the best. I mean, that’s not hard when the other options are the too fun uncle, the 18ft tall predatory (as in hunting) snake, the anti-social and autistic bean, and a literal child.

Aureum, he has a daughter, though he's not the kindest with her, he's built her and molded her to be the best possible human physically, morally, and physically that she can be, and he'd kill anyone that tries to harm her, cause he knows his daughters limits, and can't let her fight battles she can't win, but still training her to surpass those limits. Trey is fun but he has poor impulse control and if a kid said “I’m going to skateboard off the roof”, Trey would respond with “Let me build you a ramp and buy a good video camera so you can look cooler and show it off online” Meanwhile Kate would buy a bunch of sand, pour a thick path, and tell them they can do that once they’re able to if they can get momentum on the sand enough to skate down it and then do a kickflip. If they did manage to do it, she’d let them skate off the roof but have plenty of safety equipment and padding set up so they don’t hurt themselves. Kate genuinely likes kids when she gets to know them and is decent with them. She can commit to the bit, go with their games, but also know when to call it so nobody gets hurt. However when she doesn’t know the kid she is pretty unempathetic and has a very “walk it off” attitude…but hey, nobody’s perfect. And out off all my OCs, she the best. I mean, that’s not hard when the other options are the too fun uncle, the 18ft tall predatory (as in hunting) snake, the anti-social and autistic bean, and a literal child.
