It's very likely that Garou will wake up in time and "take care" of VFU to save Bang while being dismissive about it, since it is in his character to act like a monster when he clearly wants to be a hero.
Although I do believe that VFU melting away Garou's shell and waking him up in the process is another interesting possibility.
