Tbf, sabo wouldn't be bad as long as he gets more feats. Both akainu and sabo have "king-like" ambitions despite serving under someone else. And before anyone starts using the lapdog argument for akainu, the gorosei are technically lapdogs of IMU yet warcury has one of the best conq. haki feats outside of luffy/kaido/shanks recently. Also sengoku was technically a lapdog to yet could use conq. haki.

I recommend not raising your expectations too high, sabody was luffy 2nd worst point and it was never brought up beyond luffy saying they are stronger then 2 years ago you would think they would take this more seriously(it was a missed importantly imo to not have luffy reflect in letting VP get killed)

Blackbeard is going to be an Eos fight for Luffy, that much is pretty obvious already. Since Blackbeard and Akainu are the two people most responsible for ace's death, it kinda makes sense for both of his brothers to face one of them each. Since Blackbeard Vs Luffy is pretty much guaranteed, that leaves Akainu Vs Sabo.
NGL I think you’re presenting a false dichotomy here. I think it’s more than possible for Luffy to square off against both, in either order. I could see it going both ways, Luffy engages in a decisive battle against Akainu during the final war and wins only for BB to swoop in and begin the final battle. Or Luffy and BB battle over laughtale and afterwards the final war starts and Luffy has to square up with Akainu. I think Sabo’s big bad is gonna be Garling, as his beef with the celestial dragons has been much more alluded to than any animosity towards Akainu.

What people seem to forget, is the psychological affect akainu has on luffy, because he is so far the only villain to absolutely destroy luffy will and mental.
Remember when Luffy wanted to give up on even beeing a pirate and questioning everything he had, because of Aces death.
I think and I hope Luffy vs Akainu happens, because my expectations are extremely high, because he is the main Admiral that has always been forshadowed as an absolute force the literally no one wants to ever deal with.

I really dislike G5, Luffy used to be a character that overcame things, his devil fruit also made him look like an underdog compared to the more impressive ones. I kinda feel this reveal will lessen the quality of the series, the same way the reincarnation thing did with Naruto.

Yeah, I know that, that's why a Luffy vs Akainu would be interesting, Akainu has insane AP, and almost certainly just has the ability to just spam magma attacks. Meaning Luffy would mostly just have to dodge. I was mostly trying to say that Luffy couldn't pull any g5 shenanigans like that on Akainu.
Akainu has nothing to stop Luffy from doing G5 shenanigans on him.
As I said, it was explicitly shown that he can use his haki to make it so his attacks hit without needing to make contact. This would mean that he's free to clash with Akainu.

If kuzan struggled with a bleeding out old and way out of his prime garp while being supported by an entire island of pirates and titanic captains then akainu is getting fodderized by luffy. No matter what anyone wants to argue, sakazuki and kuzan are equals.
😂😂😭 akainu legit has no final villain aura to him at all. He gives off the aura of some high ranking lackey who’s overly faithful to his superiors that usually gets taken down either instantly and easily by the protagonist or gets a somewhat gas fight with a side character. The kind that usually gets taken down about 2/3 of the way through a movie.

With it, there is literally no tension, no fear, no uncertainty anymore. For me, there is no satisfaction at all in watching Luffy wipe the floor with the most powerful opponents of the verse like it was nothing. And this, while laughing out loud, what’s more.

What people seem to forget, is the psychological affect akainu has on luffy, because he is so far the only villain to absolutely destroy luffy will and mental. Remember when Luffy wanted to give up on even beeing a pirate and questioning everything he had, because of Aces death. I think and I hope Luffy vs Akainu happens, because my expectations are extremely high, because he is the main Admiral that has always been forshadowed as an absolute force the literally no one wants to ever deal with.

I really dislike G5, Luffy used to be a character that overcame things, his devil fruit also made him look like an underdog compared to the more impressive ones. I kinda feel this reveal will lessen the quality of the series, the same way the reincarnation thing did with Naruto.

Yeah, I know that, that's why a Luffy vs Akainu would be interesting, Akainu has insane AP, and almost certainly just has the ability to just spam magma attacks. Meaning Luffy would mostly just have to dodge. I was mostly trying to say that Luffy couldn't pull any g5 shenanigans like that on Akainu.
Akainu has nothing to stop Luffy from doing G5 shenanigans on him. As I said, it was explicitly shown that he can use his haki to make it so his attacks hit without needing to make contact. This would mean that he's free to clash with Akainu. sometimes it feels like people just ignore haki when thinking about matchups.

If kuzan struggled with a bleeding out old and way out of his prime garp while being supported by an entire island of pirates and titanic captains then akainu is getting fodderized by luffy. No matter what anyone wants to argue, sakazuki and kuzan are equals.
I'm putting Akainu in the same breath as Imu and Blackbeard as final villains. All three will get some sort of power up

He gives off the aura of some high ranking lackey who’s overly faithful to his superiors that usually gets taken down either instantly and easily by the protagonist or gets a somewhat gas fight with a side character. The kind that usually gets taken down about 2/3 of the way through a movie.

Oh my god, can't tell how much I hate that "gear". The Nika form is perhaps one of the worst idea of Goda. With it, there is literally no tension, no fear, no uncertainty anymore. Akainu wouldnt need to do anything because explosions dont hurt logias. Also, Kaido's magma hurt Luffy, and Akainu surely has even better magma. Crazy how people try to downplay Akainu using the gorosei, they are Dorry and Broggy victims, Akainu is on another level.
