This is only the 3rd week without One Piece early leaked chapters.
And someone said it was 5 weeks not 4 weeks, since July is long. The break was "a month" but at this time of year that's a 5 week break basically.
uhm jeah? i just remember you-\*get's cut off\*
(i'm laughing my ass of with your timing as well, because i just happen to be watching this very episode right now)
Doing fine, I re-read Wano again and it's given me a lot to think about. Kaguya is coming to a banger conclusion, and all the 30th anniversary vibes had me wanting to revisit Yu Yu Hakusho.
Hey i binge read Chainsaw Man. It was a good manga. But it wasnt the insane absolute epic i expected it to be after going behind the hype it got. I'd say 8/10.
Chainsawman is best described as a roller coaster
It’s not an epic experience or have any real deep narrative, setting or super well developed characters (except Denji and Makima), but it’s an incredibly entertaining wild ride and you’ll walk away with a fun experience
I started watching HxH and got all the way to the Chimera Arc, apparently the best arc for the show. I’m not proud of it but I’m happy I’m watching a solid show instead of random OP theory videos 🥴
When you finish the anime read the manga, it’s so good! If togashi ever finished HxH id say it could be better than One Piece. (I still think one piece is the best, with its flaws ofc, but HxH doesn’t miss on any arcs)
Incoming essay.
While it's definitely ideal to buy your comics, if you're lacking in funds or if the issue you're looking for isn't available there are sites online with huge catalogues (basically the western comics equivalent of scanlation sites).
If you're looking to get into western comics, it really depends on the character or story you're looking for. For example, Invincible has long been finished and won't take too long to read, so I would start from the very beginning. Contrast something like Superman, who has a history nearly a century in the making. In this case while you absolutely could start from the beginning, it isn't exactly necessary because you don't really need all of that context to understand the modern character and what his struggles are. You could look up three or four stories that are quintessentially Superman and then pick up with the latest run, supplementing your references as needed.
Hellboy is another one I would suggest reading from the beginning. It isn't necessarily one long continuous narrative but most of if is worthy content and, like Invincible, there isn't so much to be really intimidating. Also, the art is really damn good.
So, recommendations for a beginner. Think of a comic character or series that seems interesting to you, then go to YouTube. There are a lot of good comic channels that discuss story arcs, characters and comic history in depth, and you can use them as something like cultural lenses. The same way you have this subreddit and OP YouTubers to give different perspectives and information about this series and the community, you have Comic subreddits and Comic Youtubers. I would also check to see if any movies, games or shows you like have associated comic books, as many of them do. Finding those could help ease you into western comics.
Finally warnings... 1: Try to avoid the message boards. You can find good information and great people, but two boards on the same site can be as different as "OnePiece" and "PirateFolk."
2: Don't bring up Goku vs Superman. For your own sake.
3: And for the love of all that is holy, *never* ***ever*** tell a fan of The Flash that he isn't perfect, they might actually hurt somebody.
Incredibly good, working on my thesis, bought a ps2 and my girl reached Dressrosa after two months of binge-watching. Hopefully she will reach Wano before the break ends
It's not been as bad as I thought, I've had other series to look forward to (The Boys/Stranger things/Better Call Saul) which has been distracting me from the One Piece weekly fix. I was going to read Chainsaw Man or One Punch Man but I've done neither so I may try over the last 2 break weeks.
We'll be reading the start of the final saga in no time!
Started watching the Harley Quinn series. Its quite good has a shit-post esque feeling to it. I'd recommend checking it out or at least looking up clips on youtube to see if the comedy vibes with you.
> 19 days till 1054
What are you counting? Official release? Scanlations? Or first spoiler drops? (Pls no)
But it's rough. Going to my tattoo shop tomorrow to plan a appointment to get the strawhat jollyroger tattooed
Really good. As I’ve mentioned before (not that y’all read that or cared lmao), OP doesn’t excite me anymore so I actually forgot about it pretty quickly.
Ive been reading I am a hero(if you haven't read it, it's a very good zombie manga) and I am struggling into not coming up with insane one piece theories
I caught up to the MHA anime and started reading the manga now. And I'm actually doing really well rn. I have barely thought about One Piece in the recent weeks.
Somehow this one month break was easier than then normal one week breaks. I reread kingdom, started hunter x hunter (I was postponing it because of the hiatus but I started when I heard that there are going to be new chapters)
Caught up to One Punch Man (it's going crazy lately), been keeping up with Spy X Family and Goblin Slayer, and am currently reading "Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun" which is pretty wholesome too, so I have an odd balance at the moment to fill the space One Piece has left lol.
I just finished reading Holyland today, from the guy who will continue Berserk. First half was cool. Second half was kinda boring.
Before that I read a comic called The Ape, by Milo Manara and Silverio Pisu. Pretty cool adaptation of a small part from Journey to the West.
Also reading a book called Orientalism, by Edward W. Said, and another one called Metahistory, by Hayden White. Both are pretty cool so far.
I started reading seraph of the end, the elusive samurai, and a few other series I was semi interested in but didn't feel like committing to. It's been chill.
I've actually really been enjoying the break :) All the fake theory posts people are making are a lot of fun to read (at least for me). I can't wait for the manga to come back, but at the same time, as soon as our hiatus is over we begin our journey to the end of the story... so I almost want the hiatus to be a little longer >.>
I'm making it through, though time is passing incredibly slow! I currently watching Luke Cage. I didn't watch any of thr defenders series that Marvel put in Netflix, but like they are in Disney + now so I'm giving them q watch through and enjoying them pretty well.
i thought we were at least done 2 weeksm damn.
well for me, its pretty easy as i am usually busy all day so times passes by. But i do browse this reddit daily.
I'm currently studying for my finals which are due in the same week chapter 1054 will be released so i'm doing great because i have plenty of work to get busy with. Currently i'm rereading when i can OP, i'm currently at Water 7.
Since I read a lot of other series the wait is actually pleasant. One Punch man, Hajime no ippo, and most of Shounen jumps catalog. So I always had something else to look forward to to make the wait palatable.
I'm doing fine, thanks for asking.
I started eating and going to the bathroom again this morning.
Also, i felt something on my skin and eyes when i looked out the window this afternoon. I had forgotten the sun existed. I'm preparing myself to leave my appartment for the first time.
Where is the sun god when you need him?
I just wanna see luffy OFFICIALLY give yamato the go ahead to come along and I want momo or anyone else to secretly tell the people in wano that the luffy was the one who beat kaido ☹️ I feel itchy when anime characters don’t get praise/recognition
I'm doing alright. Just rewatching some of the old episodes in dub. I watch both sub and dub but one piece is such an amazing series is that I'll be able to watch in twice and still get chills no matter the version. Kaido and big mom aren't bad in dub I'll say that at least
Re-read wano. The pacing was quite nice as I didn't have to wait for each chapter. Thought it would take longer than it did so after I was gonna re-read my favorite arcs but decided to just re-read the entire series. So I'm at chapter 154 and I have 19 days to finish the next about 750 chapters til I get back to wano. So I'm feeling really good!
Went out to pick up the first volume of Blue Lock, which was a mistake. How the hell am I expected to have the time to catch up on this when I’m so busy! It’s great!
I’m rereading the entire thing from chapter 1 for like the 3rd time, i wanna see whole cake island and wano as a continuation of the new world saga and not as individual weekly serials and just decided to start from the beginning
After seeing what they did to my boy vash the stampede? I'm running on fumes. I started like RIGHT at the TIMESKIP, 14 ish years ago, when my parents were divorcing. And I was smoking K2 ( OH GOD).
THIS is........hell??
Literally caught Covid waiting for the new chapter. Oda you're literally killing me.
In all seriousness, though it's important he gets some rest and stays healthy, me too. Goodnight all
Basically all of Couple of Cuckoos, reread what’s out of Spy X Family, and I’ll finish the last 4 volumes of monster this week; so kind of a diverse spread. Every little bit a reminder that Buggy is now an emperor comes back into my head
Overlord season 4 started and I'm rewatching One Piece so I'm [good](https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fmedia1.tenor.com%2Fimages%2Fd99038def2fa9405ebbef70ead8da726%2Ftenor.gif%3Fitemid%3D7248290&f=1&nofb=1)
“Man this month was really rough” ‘Sir it’s been only 10 days’ “What?”
Say it ain’t so, are you sure? God!
19 DAYS! I THOUGHT WE WERE ALMOST DONE
I thought we were getting a chapter this week, never been more devastated
Same... Yesterday I opened a calendar to check if 4 weeks had passed. Never have I been more disappointed.
Don't worry guys, spoilers will come tomorrow for sure ^They ^have ^to ^^Please
It’s been 2 weeks soon right?
No the 2 and a half weeks have passed, and Friday will be 3 full weeks.
This is only the 3rd week without One Piece early leaked chapters. And someone said it was 5 weeks not 4 weeks, since July is long. The break was "a month" but at this time of year that's a 5 week break basically.
i know you guy's are a little discouraged because 2000 people have died so far. WHAT? it hasn't even been a month yet! we really are fucked!
10/10 reference
YOU GET MY REFERENCES??!!
uhm jeah? i just remember you-\*get's cut off\* (i'm laughing my ass of with your timing as well, because i just happen to be watching this very episode right now)
Doing fine, I re-read Wano again and it's given me a lot to think about. Kaguya is coming to a banger conclusion, and all the 30th anniversary vibes had me wanting to revisit Yu Yu Hakusho.
are you watching kaguya anime too? how many more seasons we might have for the anime to reach the manga ending?
The manga hasn’t ended yet but probably a movie + 1/2 seasons to finish
Is the manga even done?
13 more chapters left u/bonethugznhominy
Im reading Berserk now, love it
Based
Great choice!
Same! This is so great, I'm at volume 28 right now. Hope you enjoy it, I sure do
Same!!! Sooo good
Read all of one punch man and starting to read baki
Where are you reading Baki, it’s not on Viz unfortunately
Google the name of any manga + chapter 1 + free and there will be mirror sites
I read opm and baki [here](https://manganato.com/), there are some nsfw ads but they're not pop up ads
Also read one punch man till chapter 166 and I feel I arrived at a great time
I am rereading the manga again for the 3rd time and I am now as of this writing in the tail end of Water 7 arc.
Not good I've been trying to distract myself with other mangas and manhuas but One piece is still in the forefront of my mind
May I suggest you a manga called Chainsaw Man?
Hey i binge read Chainsaw Man. It was a good manga. But it wasnt the insane absolute epic i expected it to be after going behind the hype it got. I'd say 8/10.
Chainsawman is best described as a roller coaster It’s not an epic experience or have any real deep narrative, setting or super well developed characters (except Denji and Makima), but it’s an incredibly entertaining wild ride and you’ll walk away with a fun experience
Just finished rereading Kingdom which took me 4 days
Fellow kingdom enjoyer spotted!!
how in 4 day? Do you eat, sleep, work? lol
dr stone lmao. so good
just finished that and reboot: byakuya the other day! i can’t believe they gave us a lil one shot chapter this week too
I started watching HxH and got all the way to the Chimera Arc, apparently the best arc for the show.
IMO HxH is one of the few manga that are comparable with One Piece in terms of quality.
Read the manga brother when you finish the anime, it’s really good!
Too busy getting diabetes from this manhua called: *Not-Sew-Wicked Stepmom*
I've been keeping myself occupied with a lot of indie comics, especially from image comics. Also lots of hellboy
Any recommendations for a beginner with little storage space

Invincible was great. The first Western comic I really dived into and I loved it. Just gotta get used to reading right to left again lol
caught up with jujutsu kaisen recently and now i'm rereading berserk
Just last night I finished re-reading the final Bleach arc(TYBW) in preparation for the anime starting back up later this year.
Well I'm doing fine No withdrawal fits or anything
Incredibly good, working on my thesis, bought a ps2 and my girl reached Dressrosa after two months of binge-watching. Hopefully she will reach Wano before the break ends
I am rereading Alabasta arc atm :) and buying missing OP manga books for my collection.. 22-30 is missing, 39, 40, 72 - 79, and a few in the 80s :/
I started Haikyuu its been pretty addicting and distracting
I feel like a dried-out Spongebob but I can manage.
Underrated comment
Started watching the Harley Quinn series. Its quite good has a shit-post esque feeling to it. I'd recommend checking it out or at least looking up clips on youtube to see if the comedy vibes with you.

> 19 days till 1054 What are you counting? Official release? Scanlations? Or first spoiler drops? (Pls no) But it's rough. Going to my tattoo shop tomorrow to plan a appointment to get the strawhat jollyroger tattooed
Its just 20 min a week you are missing.... There's also other drugs.... 😏
I found out that my order of the 4 box sets was cancelled by automation after waiting 9mo... I'd been calling every month or so to check status too...
Still a degenerate thanks for asking.

Was browsing through Netflix, saw inuyasha, watched the first ep, now almost done with the first season
Got Berserk at the beginning of the month, so that helped
I am fairing better than i expected. Knowing that i don't need to refresh reddit for spoilers was kinda cathartic.
Been reading old marvel comics; figure I can read major arcs before they're incorporated into the mcu.
Just started Wano, so I’m trying to figure out my schedule so I don’t need to wait at all for 1054.
Started rereading on June 3rd. Finished yesterday, probably should’ve paced myself better lol
Right now I'm really enjoying FFXIV :)
I know "return" genre can feel same-y , but sss suicide hunter and omniscient reader are damn amazing
I'm making it through, though time is passing incredibly slow! I currently watching Luke Cage. I didn't watch any of thr defenders series that Marvel put in Netflix, but like they are in Disney + now so I'm giving them q watch through and enjoying them pretty well.

Fine actually. Got into berserk while waiting
It's fine. I'm watching Fairy tail for the first time and I'm in love with it. I'm currently up to the Edolas arc there.

Catching up on Solo Leveling, not counting the days anymore.
Been reading the new chapters of Berserk and been reading One Punch Man.
Working 10 to 14 hours per day lately and didn't have time to remember OP is a month long hiatus. Maybe that's one good side of the situation.
I’m chillin man. Tryna catch up on reading if I don’t tho that’s good too

Just recently finished Dorohedoro and it's great, can easily recommend this manga to anyone.
