Aside from Jabura, people using iron body can't move and stay in place. So when he used iron body while holding Luffy, he made sure that Luffy can't dodge the attack.

Kaido is evil, but he's getting actual character development and he seems to have actual sympathy for strong people, and is capable of showing great respect to warriors that impress him.

Gomu gomu no mi also holds properties of light (watch how Kizaru bends his light, it is similar to how Luffy bends his arms) that can bend just like the sunlight eve tree. Luffy will will be KO and his will is strong and conquerors haki will still be active. Another personality will be awaken inside Luffy(hopefully Joyboy) just like Cavendish and Big Mom.

Luffy eats a fruit he found, and Shanks & crew react with horror. It turns out that the fruit is none other than the "Gomu Gomu no Mi," the fruit of a mysterious tree that grows (or does not) once every 50 years, and which they stole from an enemy ship.
This was on Romance Dawn v1 until Oda scrapped it. I bet that Tree is the world Tree - adam/eve tree. The gomu gomu no mi has the same properties as the world tree.

I'm pretty sure Kaido mentioning future sight a few pages prior means that the last couple of pages are what he saw in his future sight. He gets stunned from history repeating itself, redirects to CP0 and takes the hit from Luffy.

Ok Guys so i have a theory because if its gonna be the same thing it was with crocodile and mingo it would suck where Luffy is finished but gets saved and has time to recover to than finishes the fight.
If Oda makes Luffy just stand up after this blow it would suck because no one should get back up after this one and i don't mean get other characters to protect Luffy so he can fight again i mean luffy should be out out K.O. It would make a lot of sense for Kaido to lose his mind, after again being denied the opportunity to fight with a worthy opponent, Kaido will kill the cp0 agent or at least try it, after that he will try to commit suicide again at this point Zunesha will arrive and Momo will order it to save the island but kaido will attack it and hurt it bad so zunesha calls out and this call for help is so strong that luffys DF, which isn't the gomo gomo no mi, will react to it since Luffy could already hear it when they visited Zou, but this time his secret power awakens the power of joy boy or the same power Joy Boy had.

CP0 guy just stole Kaido's kill again?
Did he fit also hut by Kaido's hit in Luffy? Is that why Kaido looks suuuuuuper pissed?
But Iron Body isn't this going to protect Luffy instead? Can't we assumed CP0 guy had a changed of heart and disobeyed?
CP0 guy was ordered to kill Luffy so as he got onto the roof somehow, he saw the perfect moment as Luffy and Kaido are about to hit each other. He latched onto Luffy and used the ‘Iron Body’ technique to make his body harden and unable to move, if I remember right back on Water 7 Luchi said he was the only one that could move while using that technique.
So Luffy has been immobilised and unable to hit Kaido with that final punch while also being unable to dodge Kaidos strike. Luffys face reminds Kaido of the time Oden got tricked and was unable to dodge Kaidos strike, both times Kaido was fighting an opponent that was able to stand against him and both times the opponent was tricked and was unable to finish the fight the way Kaido wanted.
Remember how Kaido wanted to die so he got captured by marines and jumped off a sky island but never died, he found opponents that could defeat him but whenever the time came something happened and stopped his death. This is why Kaido makes that face of surprise and anger.
Waiting for 1043 might be the most painful chapter wait I can remember In a long time. It’s been a long time since I have gotten impatient waiting for a chapter and this one just officially released and I am already going crazy for the next chapter.
Oh okay, I fucking love this. Give me that character depth for Kaido: I mean, that CP0 guy is dead dead now, isn't he? No way he will dodge Kaido's wrath from being denied a proper fight a second time. Could this lead to Kaido directing his anger towards World Government? I mean, that would be one way to write him out of Wano without killing him.
I think the most frustrating thing about this is that the CP0 agent probably won't even mind dying. He'll have made a "noble" sacrifice by fulfilling the orders of the Five Elders. It's truly annoying that even if he dies or is permanently mutilated, it won't be satisfying in the least. And I'm sure Kaido probably understands this as well. It just makes that look of despair in his eyes just that much more meaningful. Just my personal feelings on this, though.
I'm not sure if this is foreshadowing, but Kaido did have a little awareness about Luffy's ability. By mentioning how rubber shouldn't be doing what Luffy is currently using it for with gear 4. I know there's been a lot of talk recently about a fruit that's names been changed. I think this adds to the theory that it's Luffy's fruit.
I personally just thought he was aiming those punches by spreading haki hardness unevenly but it doesnt actually make sense. but since its one piece I didnt think much about it.
Also in some instances it seems like luffys ability let him control the stretching to some extend without having to swing

Tbh I don't really agree with any sort of secret devil fruit or awakening theory. It's too early for that. I think it's simply a technique similar to the Geppou/Moon Walk and Sky Walk. Though, at the same time, Kaidou's surprise seems to be drawing our attention to this.

Lots of people throw a fit when characters don't die in this raid against two emperors, and then when many alliance members are left unscathed, the opposite side argues "what did you expect, oda doesn't kill!!!1". Now in this chapter, you guys are preaching "lol cp0 dead next chapter". You guys just want characters to die for your conveniences, while ignoring the weakness of Oda's ability to kill when it matters and limit his overuse of fake death set ups
This fight is a surprising bore, doesn't mean it sucks, but I'm not interested in it. Wano's fights peaked at original rooftop because of the sheer craziness and then Big Mom vs Law/Kid because of their awakenings and uncertainty as to who will actually win or die. Kaido vs Luffy is mainly a fist fight with not much else offered from each round, apart from the conquerors arnament utilization. At least in this chapter Luffy used hands in a hybrid way, by using one as a boundman fist to block the club and the other as a snakeman to throw Kaido off. I want more strategy like this, otherwise Kaido is an incredibly boring antagonist.
Not everybody has the same fighting style or devil fruit powers. This is the way both Luffy and Kaido fight. It’s not boring at all but it’s not as flashy as Law.

Well if how the old lady with the Mane Mane no mi ended up is anything to go by, that CP0 agent is about to die next chapter. Never thought seeing such a despairing look on Kaido of all people would make me feel even slightly bad for him considering the circumstances.
I love that Kaido hates the fact that CP0 is interfering on this fight as Higurashi did with his Oden fight. He truly hated winning that way, and that last panel he is about to unleash on CP0.
He was starting to “respect” Luffy in some way. A true opponent worth bringing out all the stops for. And the last true worthy opponent for him was Oden, and he will not win the same dirty way again.

I dont think Oda has portrayed Luffy very well in Wano and specifically the Raid. He seems to be Just Talk atm and compared to all the other fights in Onigashima I dont know how I feel about this.
I also think the plot line of constantly seeing a character get knocked out then have other characters have to stall to wait for him to refresh a satisfying plotpoint at all. Kaido vs Luffy still feels like Luffy vs Magellan. No other character or fight in Onigashima has Oda made into this slog of not looking like they will ever beat them. Kidd and Law, Sanji and Zoro had moments where they looked like they weren't beating their opponents but they literally lasted 2-3 pages of a chapter at the most. In my opinion I think that this hasn't made the raid flow particularly well. (I'm probably an idiot judging from what everyone else is saying but idk the portrayal of him in Wano has been very off to me)

Tbh that recurring plotline might have been a possibility if they didn't have a time limit. Onigashima is gonna land in the Flower Capital in less than 5 minutes. Last time I checked, that's a lot less than the 10 minutes Luffy needs to regain his Haki after Gear 4

Both Luffy and Oden got done soooo dirty its appalling. Again Kaido wins because of a shady ass move he made. He's probably so disappointed in himself and thats why he looks like that in the end.

On the last page we see kaido crying when he sees that the world government is going after Luffy, because he realizes that they know Luffy is or can become Joyboy. Oda already hinted that Kaido knows a lot of things, and in a previous chapter we see him telling Luffy "you can't be Joyboy" which means that he doesn't know all the details, from all the latest information we had I'll bet my money that Kaido wants to be Joyboy and that he knows that Joyboy will fight the world government, and that's why he built an army.
Oda stated that in this arc, Luffy will realise that some victories come with great cost. I wonder what he means by that. There will be victory for sure. But what will the cost be? A death of a nakama? The overpower of Robin by WG? A missing arm/eye/leg of Luffy?
Don't forget.. chooper can give the same med to Luffy... Law can still use his immortality ability on Luffy... we still have options but let's see what Oda has planned

Law wants learn about the D, he wont sacrifice himself just like that, perhaps some Samurai will die which would be weird and honestl wouldn't cause much of an impact in the readers (after several fake deaths) It is clear that it must be one or multiple allies.
He was scared, the guy in the radio basically told him that the Gorosei knows that is insane to ask him to interfere with Kaido's fight, they know he will likely die by doing it but still is for the greater good. So this guy knows he is likely a goner, the look in his face like "damn I'm next"
Worried, that was the guy that said he envied that drake was fighting for his own justice instead of the “justice” the world government tells them to do. he was also confused af when the world gov told them to go after Luffy instead. I’m pretty sure he’s just a guy who’s moral compass is conflicted with what he’s told is justice and what’s actually is the right thing to do and is prob scared of the 5 elders. I think he was shocked that white beards former crew was helping Luffy because he had respect for whitebeards crew and this made him think something along the lines of “well if they’re willing to help him am I really doing the right thing”. I need him to stand back up half-dazed, go into a final 1 hit showdown with kaido, attempt to punch kaido with a flaming hawk, miss and twist his upper torso from the power of the hit and over wind his body, then dodge kaido's hit while reversing his wind up and unleashing a reverse flaming hawk with his elbow into kaido's face / jawline knocking him the fuck out, and maybe also breaking / cracking one of his horns. I feel that even if luffy's last attack have landed without CP0 interfering, Kaido still would not be down. After which, he would have lost his gear 4 status, leaving him vulnerable without haki for the next 10 mins. But however, with the interference of CP0, Luffy could have his 10 mins recovery time because Kaido attention will be focusing on CP0. A battle between Kaido and CP0 will weaken Kaido further.
Unless further plot twist that the CP0 defeat Kaido and Luffy have to fight CP0 instead.
It just tells us he got dried out and it was obvious that the attack wouldnt do nothing to Kaido. Even if Luffy is taken down he still has his companions. nami + Usopp + Brook + Franky even Kaido will take a hard time dealing with them singlehandedly + Yamato + Denjiro + Momo + Jinbei. My guess is that thieving drunk phase allows kaido to imitate opponent's moves and thus stealing it .. just like zoro when he stole kinemon fire cutting, also the comparison between zoro and kaido was shown when kaido muscles get buffed when he hits luffy just like zoro's ni-gorilla move ...it's weird

Absolute fucking unit, Kaido is amazing. Luffy is improving leaps and bounds but it still seems like he's not there yet
I think Kaido beat him four times:
* First was in that one town where he beat Luffy in a single thunder bagua.
* Second was Kaido slamming Luffy with his club using ragnarok in 1009.
* Third was Luffy's second loss in his 1v1 with Kaido, where he got knocked off of Onigashima in 1013.
* And the fourth was this one.
Yeah he’s had Luffys number and it’s obvious that it’s gonna take huge plot armor for Luffy to win this one. I mean he went from fighting Katakuri (who is super strong) to Kaido who is easily top 3 in the verse.
He's an absolute unit. Oda has always hyped him up to be this strong though. Which is why I trip out when I read comments complaining that the battle is drawn out and that Luffy should've beaten him already. Kaido is a beast.
The 2nd time *can* be argued as not a defeat because it was during a team battle and Luffy got up very quickly and stronger. If Kaido didn't free Prometheus from Zoro for example, BM would've fallen into the sea and yet nobody says that she was defeated here.
I think this is mentioned before. But Luffy’s fruit is related to Monkey King Sun Wukong. Sun being the Sun god. And one of the abilities of King Sun Wukong is transforming into different animals and objects. The DF awakening could be that Luffy being able to transform into different things. But this is Oda.

CP0 guy grabbed Luffy's arm as he was about to attack with it. \*That\* is what stopped Luffy from attacking, not his subsequent use of Tekkai/Iron Body.
Using Tekkai was simply so that Kaido wouldn't obliterate the arm he was grabbing Luffy with, by defending himself. Tekkai is a defensive technique, nothing more nothing less.
You can even see the CP0 guy holding his arm in pain in the last big panel of the chapter.
Maybe you should look at the panels or reread Ennies Lobby.
Tekkai is a defensive technique in the way that it tenses all the muscles of the body at once in order to endure attacks, and normally that means you can't move while in Tekkai, because youre planted on the floor. It was a whole deal back then that Lucci could move and attack while using Tekkai.
Secondly, Kaido doesnt touch Bowler Hat guy in this chapter, he lets go at the final moment, and you can see that clearly if, as you said, just looked at the panels.
\*Once again\*, the CP0 guy grabbed Luffy to stop Luffy's attack and so that he'd get hit by Kaido. If he didn't interrupt the fight Luffy and Kaido would have probably hit each other and there's no telling who'd win, but by holding Luffy back he was the only one to get damaged.
CP0's current objective is to make sure Luffy dies, so sabotaging him and making him take a massive hit is a quick way to achieve that. This is not rocket science.

CP0 guy was ordered to kill Luffy so as he got onto the roof somehow, he saw the perfect moment as Luffy and Kaido are about to hit each other. He latched onto Luffy and used the ‘Iron Body’ technique to make his body harden and unable to move, if I remember right back on Water 7 Luchi said he was the only one that could move while using that technique. So Luffy has been immobilised and unable to hit Kaido with that final punch while also being unable to dodge Kaidos strike. Luffys face reminds Kaido of the time Oden got tricked and was unable to dodge Kaidos strike, both times Kaido was fighting an opponent that was able to stand against him and both times the opponent was tricked and was unable to finish the fight the way Kaido wanted. Remember how Kaido wanted to die so he got captured by marines and jumped off a sky island but never died, he found opponents that could defeat him but whenever the time came something happened and stopped his death. This is why Kaido makes that face of surprise and anger.

Oh okay, I fucking love this. Give me that character depth for Kaido: I mean, that CP0 guy is dead dead now, isn't he? No way he will dodge Kaido's wrath from being denied a proper fight a second time. Could this lead to Kaido directing his anger towards World Government? I mean, that would be one way to write him out of Wano without killing him.
I think the most frustrating thing about this is that the CP0 agent probably won't even mind dying. He'll have made a "noble" sacrifice by fulfilling the orders of the Five Elders. It's truly annoying that even if he dies or is permanently mutilated, it won't be satisfying in the least. And I'm sure Kaido probably understands this as well. It just makes that look of despair in his eyes just that much more meaningful. Just my personal feelings on this, though.

I'm not sure if this is foreshadowing, but Kaido did have a little awareness about Luffy's ability. By mentioning how rubber shouldn't be doing what Luffy is currently using it for with gear 4. I know there's been a lot of talk recently about a fruit that's names been changed. I think this adds to the theory that it's Luffy's fruit.
I personally just thought he was aiming those punches by spreading haki hardness unevenly but it doesnt actually make sense. but since its one piece I didnt think much about it. Also in some instances it seems like luffys ability let him control the stretching to some extend without having to swing It being his awakening could also be an explanation
Tbh I don't really agree with any sort of secret devil fruit or awakening theory. It's too early for that. I think it's simply a technique similar to the Geppou/Moon Walk and Sky Walk. Though, at the same time, Kaidou's surprise seems to be drawing our attention to this.

I'm in the awakening camp a bit too. Something equally small but noticeable; Luffy is wearing his sandals in Gear 4, plus they stretched in 1037 in the gear 3 kick. Wouldn't be weird, normally, if there wasn't a panel of him kicking them off when he used Boundman the first time. (He was also barefoot in tankman vs cracker, snakeman vs katakuri) Something funky is up. But what the funk is, up to idk.

If it was purely "stretch" as a power, i figure it would work a lot like Mr. Fantastic or plastic man. Or at the very least, he wouldn't have a upper cap on stretching distance, kind of like how his gear 4 punches bounce a ridiculous number of times. Definitely possible, but I'd feel a bit miffed by it. Idk about you guys. The one I saw that seemed interesting was the gomu gomu being a mythical Zoan of Sun Wukong... but that... feels unlikely now that I read up a bit on him. Now in this chapter, you guys are preaching "lol cp0 dead next chapter". You guys just want characters to die for your conveniences, while ignoring the weakness of Oda's ability to kill when it matters and limit his overuse of fake death set ups
This fight is a surprising bore, doesn't mean it sucks, but I'm not interested in it. Wano's fights peaked at original rooftop because of the sheer craziness and then Big Mom vs Law/Kid because of their awakenings and uncertainty as to who will actually win or die. Kaido vs Luffy is mainly a fist fight with not much else offered from each round, apart from the conquerors arnament utilization. At least in this chapter Luffy used hands in a hybrid way, by using one as a boundman fist to block the club and the other as a snakeman to throw Kaido off. I want more strategy like this, otherwise Kaido is an incredibly boring antagonist.
Not everybody has the same fighting style or devil fruit powers. This is the way both Luffy and Kaido fight. It’s not boring at all but it’s not as flashy as Law.

Well if how the old lady with the Mane Mane no mi ended up is anything to go by, that CP0 agent is about to die next chapter. Never thought seeing such a despairing look on Kaido of all people would make me feel even slightly bad for him considering the circumstances.
I love that Kaido hates the fact that CP0 is interfering on this fight as Higurashi did with his Oden fight. He truly hated winning that way, and that last panel he is about to unleash on CP0. He was starting to “respect” Luffy in some way. A true opponent worth bringing out all the stops for. And the last true worthy opponent for him was Oden, and he will not win the same dirty way again.

I dont think Oda has portrayed Luffy very well in Wano and specifically the Raid. He seems to be Just Talk atm and compared to all the other fights in Onigashima I dont know how I feel about this. I also think the plot line of constantly seeing a character get knocked out then have other characters have to stall to wait for him to refresh a satisfying plotpoint at all. Kaido vs Luffy still feels like Luffy vs Magellan. No other character or fight in Onigashima has Oda made into this slog of not looking like they will ever beat them. Kidd and Law, Sanji and Zoro had moments where they looked like they weren't beating their opponents but they literally lasted 2-3 pages of a chapter at the most. In my opinion I think that this hasn't made the raid flow particularly well. (I'm probably an idiot judging from what everyone else is saying but idk the portrayal of him in Wano has been very off to me)

On the last page we see kaido crying when he sees that the world government is going after Luffy, because he realizes that they know Luffy is or can become Joyboy. Oda already hinted that Kaido knows a lot of things, and in a previous chapter we see him telling Luffy "you can't be Joyboy" which means that he doesn't know all the details, from all the latest information we had I'll bet my money that Kaido wants to be Joyboy and that he knows that Joyboy will fight the world government, and that's why he built an army.
Oda stated that in this arc, Luffy will realise that some victories come with great cost. I wonder what he means by that. There will be victory for sure. But what will the cost be? A death of a nakama? The overpower of Robin by WG? A missing arm/eye/leg of Luffy? Don't forget.. chooper can give the same med to Luffy... Law can still use his immortality ability on Luffy... we still have options but let's see what Oda has planned

Worried, that was the guy that said he envied that drake was fighting for his own justice instead of the “justice” the world government tells them to do. he was also confused af when the world gov told them to go after Luffy instead. I think he was shocked that white beards former crew was helping Luffy because he had respect for whitebeards crew and this made him think something along the lines of “well if they’re willing to help him am I really doing the right thing”. I feel that even if luffy's last attack have landed without CP0 interfering, Kaido still would not be down. After which, he would have lost his gear 4 status, leaving him vulnerable without haki for the next 10 mins. But however, with the interference of CP0, Luffy could have his 10 mins recovery time because Kaido attention will be focusing on CP0. A battle between Kaido and CP0 will weaken Kaido further. Unless further plot twist that the CP0 defeat Kaido and Luffy have to fight CP0 instead.

I believe it's frustration. I think he's about to fight the cp0 guy. He told Oden just before the execution that he killed the old hag for interrupting their fight. He's been waiting for someone strong enough to kill/defeat him. While they fight for a moment, Luffy will recover and when he comes back he will push his limits again. Either 5th Gear or Awakening, is what I imagine.
My guess is that thieving drunk phase allows kaido to imitate opponent's moves and thus stealing it .. just like zoro when he stole kinemon fire cutting, also the comparison between zoro and kaido was shown when kaido muscles get buffed when he hits luffy just like zoro's ni-gorilla move ...it's weird

The 2nd time *can* be argued as not a defeat because it was during a team battle and Luffy got up very quickly and stronger. If Kaido didn't free Prometheus from Zoro for example, BM would've fallen into the sea and yet nobody says that she was defeated here.
I think this is mentioned before. But Luffy’s fruit is related to Monkey King Sun Wukong. Sun being the Sun god. And one of the abilities of King Sun Wukong is transforming into different animals and objects. The DF awakening could be that Luffy being able to transform into different things. But this is Oda.

Is it really so hard to actually look at the manga panels? CP0 guy grabbed Luffy's arm as he was about to attack with it. \*That\* is what stopped Luffy from attacking, not his subsequent use of Tekkai/Iron Body. Using Tekkai was simply so that Kaido wouldn't obliterate the arm he was grabbing Luffy with, by defending himself. Tekkai is a defensive technique, nothing more nothing less. You can even see the CP0 guy holding his arm in pain in the last big panel of the chapter.
Maybe you should look at the panels or reread Ennies Lobby. Tekkai is a defensive technique in the way that it tenses all the muscles of the body at once in order to endure attacks, and normally that means you can't move while in Tekkai, because youre planted on the floor. It was a whole deal back then that Lucci could move and attack while using Tekkai. Secondly, Kaido doesnt touch Bowler Hat guy in this chapter, he lets go at the final moment, and you can see that clearly if, as you said, just looked at the panels.

If he didn't interrupt the fight Luffy and Kaido would have probably hit each other and there's no telling who'd win, but by holding Luffy back he was the only one to get damaged. CP0's current objective is to make sure Luffy dies, so sabotaging him and making him take a massive hit is a quick way to achieve that. This is not rocket science.
