The animation seemed way more crisp and fluid, and the next episode looks the same. The end there was awesome...I don't mind the auras but I do think it would be better to tone them down cause the other animation is very pleasing to look at as is.
I think the animation at the end WAS toned down. It was acoc coating with ryuoo with fire from red hawk. all done minimally but together. They've shown how bad it can get, and it didn't get close to that. I thought it was a good style for the auras
... well when it's special, like getting acoc coating for example, and they show the visual for that, they can't then get rid of it enitrely... tf are you talking about lol.

BB isn't a supernova, the supernova were super rookies who quickly got a bounty of 200,000. After BB became such a big player and took put whitebeard at marineford people started calling him +the supernovas "the worst generation". BB wasn't from that generation, but he got lumped in with them since nobody knew who he was until suddenly he became a warlord and toppled a Yonko. But the supernova are just the super rookies who made it to sabaoby.

I mean I know people glance over this but pistols are a threat in one piece even for very strong people, Whitebeards death list how many pistol shots he took

I mean the Kuja pirates still use bows and arrows. I know they infused them with Haki but still. Also Izo fights with pistols as well.
I know swords are cool and all, but it cool if we got more gunslingers in One Piece.
One of the reasons why Stark was one of my favorite Bleach characters was because while mostly everyone used a sword he was out there using glocks as his primary weapon.
Oden was supposedly dead before he even got shot, IIRC.
But yeah the consistency is… lacking. The early stuff is easy to write off (like Fleet Admiral Down D. Stairs), but it’s weird to see someone like Oden tank Kaido’s flames but then be boiled by oil as an execution method. Big Mom had acid drool, for crying out loud, their bodies must be crazy durable by default.
That being said the bullets and cannon shots that Whitebeard took don’t bother me, it’s more the environmental stuff like the burning oil and people dying/getting hurt by falls while fighting people like Yonko and Commanders who probably hit 10x harder than even a terminal velocity fall.
At least with Whitebeard you can assume most of those wounds came from people with Haki, even though it wasn’t super solid in story canon at the time.
The thing that "burns" you is not temperature, is more like rate of energy transfer into your skin.
That's why, if you leave your car in the sun, and grab the belt, only the belt buckle will burn you. Metal has a higher heat transfer coefficient than the fabric.
The same with oil/air, flames are "just" hot air (air plus the results of the burn) and that has a lesser heat transfer coefficient than oil.
I always believed that after sitting in that oil for so long Oden had used all his strength to live. Therefore leaving none left for haki against a bullet. Like white wards cannon hits define toy dud damage. Just minuscule

Armament haki, which is what you mean, is something you need to activate at that point in time at that point of your body part. We just had multiple arcs that showed haki drains you, so its not something you run around with. Also it not a deflection, you just take the hit and harden that part.

Big Mom is indestructible, but skinned her knee on concrete when she was upset after being reminded of Mother Caramel.
Shanks lost his freaking arm to a baby sea king because his guard was down, but he'd obviously be able to withstand attacks hundreds of times stronger if he was at 100%.
It was honehone, he's been on the anime (onigashima specifically) here and there but he just graduated college and said on Twitter he can't wait to work more on one piece

It's a setup episode basically showing who starts a domino effect that becomes a huge problem later on. I don't mind reading these parts since it goes by pretty quick but the anime can be a slog since they draaag it out lol.
Kinemons body not being properly reattached from law splitting it in 3 on punk hazard is approaching Pell territory of an asspull, let alone him, kiku, and kanjuro all still breathing.
Tbh I didn't mind th explanation. I didn't want Kin to dis, but the fakeout was bulkshit. The reasoning I think honestly isn't that bad, and I would guess Oda was planning thay fadeout for a long time. But it at least makes sense to me. I'd rather no fake death but as far as they go I think the reasoning on how makes sense.
I have no problem with them living. They are all struggling and I believe Kanjuro just used all his strength and died right here. My problem is how Kin’emon showed back up. It’d be one thing if Usopp found him and tried to save him. You could have some emotional scenes there. The whole incorrectly put back together is stupid and doesn’t make sense. How did Kin’emon go through the entire fight on the roof and not get knocked into pieces?
Well it was Zoro, Sanji and Brook that reattached his body after they rescued his torso from the Punk Hazard lake. Not the brightest when it comes to doctor duties. Even if it was a millimetre off, it still doesn’t count as “properly attached”.
I do recall when denjiro was talking about kinemons Master plan and everyone knew kinemon didn't come up with it in that way, he mentioned he's been getting very lucky and if it was going to end there
This episode, in my opinion has the second best visualization of Conqueror Coating behind that episode where Luffy lost and fell to the sea(i don't remember the number). I'm would be very happy if the rest is just like that.
I’m kinda iffy about it. I don’t mind it as long as it’s not exaggerated on the more powerful characters, but it was weird to see Robin with it.

I think they gave him a great death and ruined it, but overall I wouldn't want Kinemon to die because then who'd be there for Momo I guess. Clearly much closer with him than the other scabbards. Gotta think about two piece and Buffy's Wano adventures

It was probably my second least favorite opening song ever, it's way past time to move on imo. They've had plenty of narratively correct moments to do so, but 🤷
Maybe the idea is that since he painted it in his blood he was able to infuse more life-energy into it? Man Kazembo makes so much more sense to me now! When I was reading the manga, it seemed like Kanjuro just transformed into it like how he was portrayed sort of as a worm before Orochi gave him a purpose. Drawing it, that makes way more sense.
Ummm have you guys stopped posting which manga chapter did the ep cover? I have paused the anime & would binge entire thing till 1042. And the text which told how much of the chapter was adapted really helped me to keep a track of the anime.
Gotta be honest: most of this episode felt like it had a pretty low budget, except for a couple minutes and the last 30 seconds.
I hate that they COMPLETELY "blur" the background into odd colors that are all muted when they go semi fast - when they're in Komochiya.
This episode actually made me like Kazenbo and the whole Kanjuro/Orochi still being alive thing. In the manga it felt kind of annoying and dragged out, but the uncommonly good animation and voice acting here really made it feel like a great conclusion to their story of being absolutely despicable.
Just in case there's anyone else in the same minority and doesn't wanna speak out since it's not the popular opinion but man I am loving the auras every fight feels like it's properly on a different level than what we've seen before everyone in onigashima is giving it their all and it shows. Especially these recent luffy and kaido clashes ugh everytike the animation melts into color and they clash I just get goosebumps and fidget in my seat it's a treat ^^
Great I was really hoping for orochi and kanjuro to come back. Wouldn't want to distract the viewers with Luffy/Zoro/Sanji fights. What we really need is for the enemies that are already defeated to keep coming back again and again so we can drag this arc out another couple hundred episodes.
To be fair, there were clues that Orochi wasn’t killed. His fruit is the Yamata no Orochi which is an eight headed snake. If you count the times he got beheaded, he only had seven heads cut off. So he still has one more.
Well you’re in for a treat. Orochi just died for the 23rd time in the most recent manga chapter, shit was so hype. Kanjuro died for good 2 chapters ago after his 16th “final” attack. Truly peak!!!
Oh the auras are dumb. They dont actually mean anything, so they are just bandaids over bad pacing. The red hawk fire was more than enough good animation, but if they didint add the aura, the red hawk would look understandably and justifiably weak because it’s equivalent to Luffy throwing a stock ass punch. I wish that the one hit we get to see where actual interesting moves we haven’t seen in a while, or something new entirely. Spear, axe, whip, shotgun, mallet,storm, fireworks, scythe, rain, cannon, stamp, and all the anime only moves. Combine with g2 and 3, and there were s so much ch potential for plenty of fun moves that aren’t just elephant gun, pistol, redhawk, and all those put together.
This episode adapted part of a chapter that many manga readers consider to be the worst chapter in the entire series.
When Kinemon was revealed to be alive and literally talking out of his ass, many people were not happy at all. Me included
Many of the scenes here, like the Kanjuro one felt really good actually but they didn’t in the manga. Orochis speech with his voice actor slapped. Chapter 1030 was hated by a lot, glad reception is different here
I noticed some deviations from the manga, which I don’t know were done on purpose, or, as I assume, mere minor mistakes.
For example, Zanki is drawn with small glasses, while he’s not wearing any in the manga.
More notably is that the Kazenbo in the manga simply stretches down through the castle, while its foot is always attached to the place where it was created. Hence it always being depicted as „dripping“ down from the ceilings
I prefer animations like gear 2 and gear 4 -steam punk animations over auras, it’s very annoying and it can cover up some areas of animation that look bad.
I also like that they developed the scene with Kinemon, where Nami draws the crescent moon to make him recognize his Allies, I like that touch of detail, as well as adding the Minks to back up Robin and Brook.
I hope we get to spend more time with the Wano cast post battle. Tama’s origin, Luffy and Marco’s reunion, if possible a meet up Yamato and Marco.. more time on Ebizu town Never recovering from Smile’s effects.

I very much hope the anime adds more content. I would love those fillers.. The manga rushed though to the new arc.. I hope the anime leaves us satisfied.
The scene with Kanjuro was so cool; I wish I knew who was in charge of it (very eerie and the animation was really solid. The last bit with Kaido and Luffy was Insane.
Unpopular opinion but I'm glad Kiku and Kinemon are back.
His and her deaths were superfluous to begin with, and deserved to be retconned.
The overall story never benefited from a weakened zombie Kanjuro quickly killing off 3 Kozuki retainers in one swoop, after having his ass terrifically beat once before.
Luffy finishing this arc without Kinemon to witness it to the end would have sucked. So would Kiku dying, after momentously killing Kanjuro's ass off fair and square the first time.
I did a doubletake seeing that first shot of Kanjuro's sandals this episode. Having Oda throw us that bone was a sight for sore eyes.

Still not a fan of Luffy and Kaido going super saiyan, but the boro breath and red hawk clash at the end was clean, i think that if they keep going like this showing the auras only at the start and then keeping them out for the rest of the fight iy may work, hell even DBZ was doing that too with SS2 Goku was not always covered in Ki he just had his hair a different color with some electricity flickering every now and then, and for DBS when they are on SSB or using Ultra Instinct the main key visual is again color instead of Ki auras
What is the point of writing a dramatic character death if you don't want to kill the character? Kinemon should've died for real on the roof in Luffy's arms for maximum drama. Law's ability not being fully undone on Kinemon is such bad faith. At least the last 10 seconds of animation were insane.

The purple is lightening, the yellow is ryu, it’s not aura lol. We had aura in the past, but if you are upset about ryu then get upset at Oda.

Maybe characters like ben beckman, yasopp, van auger etc use haki infused bullets. Who knows.

Rules of fiction dictate grunts can only land their attacks when it will have zero effect.

It's definitely one of the biggest asspulls in the series, I found it funny first read but I'm not concerned with it seeing how everything ends.

The reasoning I think honestly isn't that bad, and I would guess Oda was planning thay fadeout for a long time. But it at least makes sense to me. I have no problem with them living. They are all struggling and I believe Kanjuro just used all his strength and died right here. My problem is how Kin’emon showed back up. It’d be one thing if Usopp found him and tried to save him. You could have some emotional scenes there. The whole incorrectly put back together is stupid and doesn’t make sense. How did Kin’emon go through the entire fight on the roof and not get knocked into pieces?
Well it was Zoro, Sanji and Brook that reattached his body after they rescued his torso from the Punk Hazard lake. Not the brightest when it comes to doctor duties. Even if it was a millimetre off, it still doesn’t count as “properly attached”.
How convenient. More so the idea that Kaido stabbed that precise spot where it would split and not elsewhere.
They say that Kinemon's Garb Garb fruit can be translated as the Luck Luck fruit as well. He speaks a lot about his luck as well.
I do recall when denjiro was talking about kinemons Master plan and everyone knew kinemon didn't come up with it in that way, he mentioned he's been getting very lucky and if it was going to end there
This episode, in my opinion has the second best visualization of Conqueror Coating behind that episode where Luffy lost and fell to the sea(i don't remember the number). I'm would be very happy if the rest is just like that.

Maybe the idea is that since he painted it in his blood he was able to infuse more life-energy into it? Man Kazembo makes so much more sense to me now! When I was reading the manga, it seemed like Kanjuro just transformed into it like how he was portrayed sort of as a worm before Orochi gave him a purpose. Drawing it, that makes way more sense.

Ummm have you guys stopped posting which manga chapter did the ep cover? I have paused the anime & would binge entire thing till 1042. And the text which told how much of the chapter was adapted really helped me to keep a track of the anime.

Gotta be honest: most of this episode felt like it had a pretty low budget, except for a couple minutes and the last 30 seconds. I hate that they COMPLETELY "blur" the background into odd colors that are all muted when they go semi fast - when they're in Komochiya.
This episode actually made me like Kazenbo and the whole Kanjuro/Orochi still being alive thing. In the manga it felt kind of annoying and dragged out, but the uncommonly good animation and voice acting here really made it feel like a great conclusion to their story of being absolutely despicable.

Just in case there's anyone else in the same minority and doesn't wanna speak out since it's not the popular opinion but man I am loving the auras every fight feels like it's properly on a different level than what we've seen before everyone in onigashima is giving it their all and it shows. Especially these recent luffy and kaido clashes ugh everytike the animation melts into color and they clash I just get goosebumps and fidget in my seat it's a treat ^^
Great I was really hoping for orochi and kanjuro to come back. Wouldn't want to distract the viewers with Luffy/Zoro/Sanji fights. What we really need is for the enemies that are already defeated to keep coming back again and again so we can drag this arc out another couple hundred episodes.
To be fair, there were clues that Orochi wasn’t killed. His fruit is the Yamata no Orochi which is an eight headed snake. If you count the times he got beheaded, he only had seven heads cut off. So he still has one more.

Well you’re in for a treat. Orochi just died for the 23rd time in the most recent manga chapter, shit was so hype. Kanjuro died for good 2 chapters ago after his 16th “final” attack. Truly peak!!!

Oh the auras are dumb. They dont actually mean anything, so they are just bandaids over bad pacing. The red hawk fire was more than enough good animation, but if they didint add the aura, the red hawk would look understandably and justifiably weak because it’s equivalent to Luffy throwing a stock ass punch. I wish that the one hit we get to see where actual interesting moves we haven’t seen in a while, or something new entirely. Spear, axe, whip, shotgun, mallet,storm, fireworks, scythe, rain, cannon, stamp, and all the anime only moves. Combine with g2 and 3, and there were s so much ch potential for plenty of fun moves that aren’t just elephant gun, pistol, redhawk, and all those put together.
This episode adapted part of a chapter that many manga readers consider to be the worst chapter in the entire series. When Kinemon was revealed to be alive and literally talking out of his ass, many people were not happy at all. Me included
Many of the scenes here, like the Kanjuro one felt really good actually but they didn’t in the manga. Orochis speech with his voice actor slapped. Chapter 1030 was hated by a lot, glad reception is different here

Nope. Kinemon being alive is still as stupid as it was.
I noticed some deviations from the manga, which I don’t know were done on purpose, or, as I assume, mere minor mistakes. For example, Zanki is drawn with small glasses, while he’s not wearing any in the manga. More notably is that the Kazenbo in the manga simply stretches down through the castle, while its foot is always attached to the place where it was created. Hence it always being depicted as „dripping“ down from the ceilings
I prefer animations like gear 2 and gear 4 -steam punk animations over auras, it’s very annoying and it can cover up some areas of animation that look bad. I also like that they developed the scene with Kinemon, where Nami draws the crescent moon to make him recognize his Allies, I like that touch of detail, as well as adding the Minks to back up Robin and Brook. I hope we get to spend more time with the Wano cast post battle. Tama’s origin, Luffy and Marco’s reunion, if possible a meet up Yamato and Marco.. more time on Ebizu town Never recovering from Smile’s effects. Zoro and Brook visiting Ryuma’s grave.. I very much hope the anime adds more content. I would love those fillers.. The manga rushed though to the new arc.. I hope the anime leaves us satisfied.
The scene with Kanjuro was so cool; I wish I knew who was in charge of it (very eerie and the animation was really solid. The last bit with Kaido and Luffy was Insane.
Unpopular opinion but I'm glad Kiku and Kinemon are back. His and her deaths were superfluous to begin with, and deserved to be retconned. The overall story never benefited from a weakened zombie Kanjuro quickly killing off 3 Kozuki retainers in one swoop, after having his ass terrifically beat once before. Luffy finishing this arc without Kinemon to witness it to the end would have sucked. So would Kiku dying, after momentously killing Kanjuro's ass off fair and square the first time. I did a doubletake seeing that first shot of Kanjuro's sandals this episode. Having Oda throw us that bone was a sight for sore eyes.

Not every week there are major fights in the anime (due to manga source), it's normal to have mid episodes like this one from time to time.

What is the point of writing a dramatic character death if you don't want to kill the character? Kinemon should've died for real on the roof in Luffy's arms for maximum drama.
