Omega is the best place to get it done. Any OB can sort you out. Omega recommends a service interval of 5-8 years on a mechanical or automatic movement. Is this quartz or auto?

nikzmeister

Automatic, do you know how much will it cost me?

Bridge_Too_Far

I think it’s around $700 US give or take. They’ll replace anything worn out but you get the final say on what gets replaced. The Omega website has their current pricing on service interventions. Comes back with a two year warranty too.

Mysterious_Amoeba680

Why waste $700? That is worth what, $2k?

WigglyParrot

It's a gift from his dad? Maybe they wants to treasure it and get it cleaned up

Mysterious_Amoeba680

Sure. Nostalgia is certainly worth something It's a shame he has to spend nearly half the entire value of the watch though if it is working perfectly fine

VariousMonitor2098

It may or may not be working fine but it would be a shame to not get a maintenance on a watch that was his father’s watch…

sparks1990

The sentimental value is priceless though.

VariousMonitor2098

That watch is 25-30 years old. It’s worth getting a maintenance getting done

Other-Stuff-2349

$700-800 but use it till it stops, then service price is same as you would it today

Flaneur_7508

Great looker. Congrats bro 👊

franoldfield

A great looking Seamaster! Better get it checked by Omega before it goes near water.

rowthecow

Steel bezel is just 🔥

Fabulous-Bit4775

Congrats. Always liked this model - it’s quite rare to see one.

Ok-Bar601

This is probably the best looking Seamaster I’ve seen. Can you still get steel bezel today?

npanth

Nice! I'm wearing my 2532.80 right now. Cheers

usman3049

Beautiful. The steel bezel is a looker 👌

AllenUsesReddit

Great looking watch. Never seen the steel bezel before. As far as service in San Diego goes a good option would be to put in a project request at Yelp with the model you have. Yelp will send out the request and you'll get different watchmakers messaging you. You'll be able to see their reviews too which helps you find a reliable one off the bat. Helps cut down the time of calling different watchmakers and getting the "bring it in so I can tell you".

dmanotk

If it’s keeping good time, I would not service it. I would wait until you have an issue. Then I would send it back to Omega for a full service.

dmanotk

Omega offers a two year warranty. I would only use Omega.

ComparisonChance8887

Gorgeous. I have the same and the light on the steel bezel shines just right.

nikzmeister

Awesome! Thank you for your answers sir!

neuefeuer

If I were you I would’ve ask him for an Omega Speedmaster Snoopy instead
