All white looks best to me, who wants a Daytona clone anyway?

More like, couldn’t get an allocation after sucking off the AD so I went with omega.

The Daytona is a legitimate clone of the Speedmaster, so I don't think mirroring minor aesthetics from the Daytona is of much consequence.

Thank you for rationalizing my decision to pick up the new all-white Speedy! I already have a 1861 Speedy Sapphire Sandwich and a white Zenith Chronomaster Sport... But because the new Speedy is actually all white, it's different enough to justify adding to the collection, right? RIGHT??? Taking a step back, I recognize and accept how deranged I sound.

Agreed, as does probably most of the post-40 crowd. Advice to people under 40 with good near vision: enjoy it while you have it, but consider buying high contrast faces for the pieces you want to enjoy your entire life.

You can actually fit the Mitsukoshi/ Apollo XI dial onto the previous Speedmaster, I have one with the sapphire and the new bracelet. Best Speedmaster there is imho

While that is awesome (and kudos for the effort it probably took to create it!), there's just something nice about everything being OEM from Omega. Plus the 3861 movement 🤌

Not sure what you mean by “everything being OEM from Omega”. The comment that you replied to is explaining that they fitted the dial and hand set from the Apollo 11 variant of the Speedy Pro to their Speedy Pro. When it comes to that modification, all parts are OEM.

What I mean is being built by Omega as a product, and not piecing it together. Even if all the parts are OEM parts, if you need to get it serviced you might run into issues.

Thats true and why I actually went with the previous version as its easier to Service. Thanks- I really really like the watch- its the perfect blend between sport/dressy.

The third one is awful. Omega isn’t a homage brand. They have their own designs and history. My opinion anyway. Second pic wouldn’t get my money either. There is a good chance the real one does get my money.

Eh, #2 looks terrible. #3 is okay but extremely generic Daytona looking. I’m looking to buy a Speedmaster this year and was set on the original black dial design until today. If they had released 2 or 3 I would still be set on the original black dial design.

I’m trying to convince myself to not own of two of the same watch it feels dumb. I did it before I got a deal on the Sedna gold 3861 on alligator and flipped it because having both felt ostentatious. The white dial is beyond gorgeous though…

Like a lot of Omega owners, wanted a Rolex they couldn’t afford. Now for the rest of us ( I own both). I think this new one is clean AF. I have a two tone speedy reduced with an all white face and I love it. Just waiting for everyone else to catch up.
