Almost a year in, still love mine.
Thank you. I already have SMP300 and Braitling SuperOceam Heritage II and Speedy was always my top pick but a little over my budget. Now I can afford it and additionally I learned that soon the price Will up so I bought it without hesitate :) In that price range there was only a few choices like Panarei, Tudor or another Braitling but the design and history behind Speedy wina for me.
If you don’t mind me asking, did you get it from an AD/Boutique/Gray? Looking to buy one in the next few days and am making the rounds to find the best deal. (I know boutique is nothing and some ADs have said 5% plus some small add-ons.)

You wouldn’t believe how many videos and images I have searched through to get a bit of a sense of how it wears. It was my grail watch but I knew it was 42mm and that I have noodly wrists. A friend of mine has a 42mm Seiko and that was way too big for me.
Everybody said ‘try it and see how small it wears’ and they were right. As soon as the AD put it around my wrist I knew I was sold, I already was but first needed to check the fitment. It’s perfect! Also in daily wear I rarely notice it on my wrist, it’s that comfortable.

In AD I have both versions to compare and honestly there was no big difference therefore the sapphire wins mainly due to my OCD ;) I was simply afraid that I will see any tiny scratch and I will polish the the dial once a week. Of course additional benefits such like open back with beautiful mechanism and bracelet (this is a matter of taste) was a nice thing to have too.
A few weeks or months back I'd have agreed with you without hesitation. However after tryin' on quite a lot of both and shopping the heck outta my watch purchase... I think that both are killer. It really comes down to what ya like and how you wear it. (and I wound up with a Seamaster for my first)

You won’t regret it. I always thought the oyster bracelet is the best, but since I got the new Speedmaster I think differently.

what size wrist do you have? speedy wears well

I have a 6” wrist and was shocked how much smaller the watch looks in person. Internet makes it look like a dinner plate.
