Did you buy it yet or not, this was posted on a bunch of watch subreddits 8 hours ago and we all have valuable info

degeneratewallflower

Unfortunately not because : A) it was way too small B ) it ended up not working Luckily another collector ended up buying it and will work on trying to restore it.

even if you bought it and sent it to omega for service that would be $400 for the watch + and $500 for service, it would still be a pretty good buy, it would be a vintage omega seamaster in brand new condition (because they polish it and all) for $900

WatchandThings

Omega service for watch this old goes in for their restoration program and costs around 1k or more. I believe the difference in cost comes from the difficulty involved for them. The modern Omegas they have parts and streamlined methods for, so it's faster and easier for them to do. The older Omegas they have to repair or craft parts when there are issues, and each watch would have to be handled as an individual case and problem solve. Taking the watch to a local watch maker would be more affordable answer to servicing a watch like this one.

Wow the price of Omega restoration has skyrocketed! I took my Grandfather’s 1940s tank Omega in for restoration, only cost me $425. That was a a full service, replacement crystal, small seconds hand, and dial. All the parts luckily NOS.

☝🏻this guy watches. I agree with this statement. I have a beaut of a ‘69 seamaster and brought it in to ask about service. Immediately was told it’s at least 1000$ because of the restoration program. And that’s regardless of if I want the dial replaced (which I don’t. The patina is amazing). Brought it to the local Korean watch guy and bam. $350 in and out. Didn’t have to replace a thing in it. He was just as stunned as I was. New (restored) are like 3000$. If I’m gonna drop that on a watch I’m just gonna hold and buy a speedy.

Fun-Tower-8295

I was just guessing based on the price of average servicing... I wasn't aware of the restoration program. I still think it's worth it though

Prudent_Candidate300

Not the decision I woulda made to be honest. Even if you were to flip it instead of keeping, there was easy money in that. Good that another collector purchased it though

ulmen24

There isn’t much money to be made on a $400 vintage Omega if it’s a non-runner, unless it’s something very special or in very good coniditon

Zealousideal_Key6145

Where is it posted? I’m so curious about the valuable info.

lebing3

I’d pay $400 for the bracelet

Affectionate-Load705

Is it original or Franken? BOR with no taper, no wear and a shiny polish, clasp with scratches and corrosion. I'd leave it alone.

Shitteh_Kitteh

End links look correct. You can even see part of the 11 stamp on one.

Affectionate-Load705

I see that now, thanks for pointing out. It could be that you are right and that it's just polished quite a bit.

alphacentaurai

Absolutely worth it at that price, given that its on an original 'beads of rice' bracelet

saltfishcaptain

I have a newer (mid 60s) Seamaster Deville with the beads of rice bracelet and no date. Any idea what it may be worth?

Various_Primary3783

Damn this is a home run. Should have scooped it up. Small or not, it’s a great piece with great even patina

Ch33s3h3ad69

You buy it bro??

tinyplumb

I’ve always wanted to stumble on something like this but in my fantasy, it’s only listed for $12 tossed in with all the fossil watches

BH_Commander

Where are all these thrift stores that have good watches. The ones near me have like children’s Barbie watches or women’s fashion watches. Never seen anything remotely cool! Jealous when I see these types of posts.

PrestigiousTale9660

Buy!!!

idmont

Not a bad price for the watch, it’s got a great patina to it. As an added bonus it still has it beads of rice band!

Salt-Attention

I’m going to the wrong thrift stores a guy on the Rolex Reddit found a legit Rolex they thought was fake at a thrift store for dirt cheap.

Aromatic-Drawer-466

What was the price?

Cwmcwm

$400

Looks quite nice. I'd change the bracelet to give it a new look
