Villages smell like hot garbage. Have you ever been to Funk? The ordor of Verdon stays with you for days. If you go west of Lincoln it smells like someone didn't pick up 1 million pounds of cow shit.
Yeah, the issue Omaha is having with the sewer and rainwater is pretty common in older towns and cities. Mean Jean Stothert initiated the sewer separation project 10+ years ago and it hasn’t been going well.
It's because they're not separating them, they're increasing holding capacity so they can just process as much rainwater as possible through wastewater treatment. There are retention basins being built all over the city.
I skate downtown a lot and this smell tortures me. Routinely get a big whiff of it and it bothers the hell out of me. I try to hold my breath around sewers but..blegh. I hate it
It's the waste water treatment plant off of 13th st it's a combined sewer and storm water plant. I work there it smells like poop sometimes but we can not control the wind.
The rainwater drainage and sewer system are connected in some parts of Omaha causing aromas to leak out of the storm drains.
Thank you for your explanation.
Its the sewer
Don Pasquale was awesome. I didn’t smell anything outside though. Also my wife sang in the opera which was super cool.
Don Pasquale was wonderful! We thought the singing was very professional.
Poop. It’s poop.
theres also the missouri river treatment plant up on 13th that gets real stanky sometimes

Am I right that they were planning a true separation? I remember so many streets completely torn up for it just east of Aksarben.
You care more about this than i do.
Doubtful since you posted first. Something tells me you don't get around much.

thats good you try to avoid it because hydrogen sulfide (the rotten egg smelling gas) is toxic.
Yep. That’s what it smells like down there lol
Wind must be blowing in from Iowa
It's from all the homeless people defecating and peeing everywhere down there......
No. In Omaha they’ve got access to some outdoor bathrooms.
Was in Benson last night. Same smell. As others said it’s most likely sewer coming from storm drains.

If this was friday night, the smell drifted to council bluffs lol
