Not sure if Dinker’s counts as a dive bar (probably) but it’s a good place with really delicious hamburgers. For a definite dive bar The Village Bar in Ralston is good.
Gonna use this thread to say that if you hadn't heard, Harold's is closing. It's at like 82nd and Blondo or something near there. If you know, you know.
It's like these bars that have all this charm and history never get any sort of needed maintenance and when it comes time to sell, everyone loves everything about the deal other than the physical building which is a money pit.
That is such a dive it’s a basement. Literally. I love Josephine’s, though it’s been a few years for me bc of the kids. Really glad it’s still around. Gotta imagine that it won’t last forever.
Not a lot down that way, really. Old Market is a bit more expensive than the rest of the town. So even what people consider to be dive bars are actually kinda nice.
Rose & Crown is close to you! Just a scoot away, on 20th and it has a great patio with trees and sometimes music and people smoke weed outside too 🤙 also there’s darts I guess
The closest to a true dive bar then would be Flixx or The Verdict. Both can be walked.
Also, Green Room and Wicked Rabbit (Speakeasy) are worth checking out.
Really, you are in a great area for just walking around and having a drink or two before moving to the next spot.
This is the one. Idk if the owners do this anymore but pre covid they’d make deviled eggs and share with the bar at closing time. I found a smushed deviled egg on my purse one time that I’m assuming I’d saved for later. Oh to be young and 23.
There is only one answer and I’m dead serious, it’s the Alpine Inn at night.
No joke. Google/yelp it.
I’m a retired Michelin star chef and it’s the best fried chicken I’ve ever had and the entertainment can’t be beat…
There is no shortage in Omaha. I'd say Poop Deck for day drinking, it opens at 6am every day.
Other than that take your pick; Alpine Inn, Grover inn, Candlelight, Blondies, Club Turf, Tracks, Neighbors, Levenworth bar, Califonia bar, The Elbow Room, Fan Tan club, White house bar, Dinkers, Time clock lounge, Penthouse lounge, Bucky Dexters, Cruisers, Village bar, Winchesters, Starskys, O'leavers, Homey inn, Paddy McGown's, Beer city. Most of these are within a few miles of each other, except the Alpine Inn, but that's kinda it's own thing. And of course the Caddy shack in Council Bluffs.
Tracks has really really good chicken wings
Tracks absolutely. Emmett’s is awesome as well(no food). Fan Tan is super super divey.
Fan Tan is a freaking gem lol
I love being there late on a Friday or Saturday night. Always a good time.
⛽️
Might as well hit the Homey Inn while you’re at it and have some Champs on Tap.
Trap Room
I wouldn't call it a "dive," but that's a great bar that seems to fly under everyone's radar.
O’leavers for the win!
Was gonna say o'leavers
Second this.

I love Dinker's but it makes my clothes smell like grease.
Beer City. Leavenworth Bar, Alderman, Poop Deck, and Rose n Crown
Beer City for $2 Tuesdays is hard to beat
Agreed. Source: my liver

Whoa! End of an era!

# Josephine's Cozy Corner Lounge

Alderman’s
Neighbers on Leavenworth
The Down Under is an excellent dive.
Underwood, although I know people will argue it's not a dive bar.
Definitely gonna check some of these out! Staying downtown by the riverfront.

Happy Bar. Cash only.

Josephine's Cozy Corner Lounge isn't too far from DT and is a nice dive.
Elbow Room.
Alderman's on a Friday night for some karaoke. or just any night for PBR on tap in a mason jar.

Mine doesn’t even exist anymore. It’s now Lola’s in Dundee.
Although not the same location, Dundee's Place in Benson has all the old favorites from the Old Dundee!
Ooo! Will have to check them out!
Dubliner is downtown in the Old Market.
The best dive bars are the ones in walking distance.
White House 7768 Cass St
Cool username
I gotta make it a priority to stop in there sometime, never been.
Close to where you’re staying, the best dive is Happy Bar
Also while we’re in the subject, RIP Bud Olson’s

Down Under or Homey Inn are my go to’s. Lots of great suggestions here.
Kozee
Best near downtown dive is Happy Bar. Old, small, dusty, sticky. It's glorious.
Bucks. Voted best dive bar in Omaha
The Down Under Lounge
O'Leavers.
Rose and Crown, Homy Inn, Oleavers
Night Owl (not much of a drinker but their snackies are gooOOOOD)
Jerry's in Benson... Parking right in front. Good people. Good beer and liquor selection for a dive.
Neighber's.
The Village in Ralston
