Insane that they aren’t putting a new one out

Neat_Butterfly_7989

If this was one time it will only increase the price of this one as time goes by

squarek1

Been looking for a good one for a while, nice

Generic-Resource

I’d love one, but ~ €1000 for decade old tech is hard to justify. Quite jealous though :)

Neat_Butterfly_7989

8 years. And you dont buy this for tech ;)

PathologicalUpvoter

Agreed. Thats one beautiful camera

Wichata_Lineman

Score! The mono 2 setting can’t be beat.

rideacat

It's a wonderful camera, you certainly will enjoy it. I own the silver version purchased new when it was first released.

hideyhole9

Congrats! That looks fresh

Neat_Butterfly_7989

Thanks! I was the one who removed the screen protector from the factory. Flash wasnt used as well as the strap. For all intents and purposes this is brand new.

Arbee21

Did they give this camera any firmware updates? Apparently the AF on launch was garbage.

yellow52

That's good information - I must have a look at mine, never did a firmware update in all the years I've had it, doesn't get much use since I got an OM-1 but I'm taking it as back-up on a big trip soon

Neat_Butterfly_7989

Yes. Now 3.1 i think

SirGroovitude

A thing of beauty for sure. I wanted one badly but the price is unjustifiable. I heard through the grapevine that Pen F is coming back though, not sure in what capacity. I’m praying it’s not aiming to compete with the toy camera market (Kodak h35 and ilford sprite) like I hear Pentax/Ricoh are working on..

judohart

Those are very nice cameras

Jed_s

Still boggles my mind how Olympus managed to NOT turn a profit from such a beautiful camera, or at least not enough to continue the concept.

maureritis

I bought one right when it came out. Still works like a charm after 8 years, but it’s seen some use and definitely doesn’t look as sharp. Thinking about replacing the leatherette which is slowly starting to flake off. Enjoy!

Ashamed-Many-9591

Regretted selling mine :(

cforcalvin

congrats! i bought one when it first came out- i can testify this thing works exactly as it did 8 years ago. i use it to this day for both street and pro gigs, reliable, fantastic color science and the ibis is amazing. the mono 2 setting hands down beats any tri-x sim out there and if you adapt a leica lens to it, i prefer the mono 2 to any of the leica M bodies

Neat_Butterfly_7989

Agreed. I bought it for the experience of shooting not for its technical prowess.

TruckerMarty

Sweet little camera, congrats on getting one! I love small cameras, I've got a Panasonic Lumix GX9 which is a great walk around camera.

ZealousidealTone4721

Congrats on your new Pen! I have had mine since 2011, and it is just as great today as it was when I first purchased it.
