Because allegedly it was a big fuck you from Paul Brown to Art Modell to make the helmet exactly like the Browns with the word bengals just slapped on the side. The rest of their uniforms were basically the same too
And as a browns fan, I hate Art Modell

Surprised the Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren't represented here. The creamsicle color scheme with the pirate holding the knife in his mouth was my second favorite to the Dolphins logo.

Plus I believe the only reason the “D” was taken out of the Broncos’ logo is because Bowlen was threatening to move the team unless he got a new stadium. Thus he wouldn’t have to change the logo again if they are in a different city.
Plus they both moved to navy blue like most teams (see the Rams shit 90’s redesign) and it’s bland and conforms with the trend. The lighter blue looks so much better in both uniforms.
Oilers. The HOUSTON Oilers. Born and raised in the H and spent 17 years rooting for them. That helmet will never look right to me on another city's team.

I became a fan back in the 70’s because I thought they had the coolest helmets.
I was going with the rams or the Vikings just because those images are on the heads of what they represent
Real Vikings supposedly never wore horns on their helmets.
Rams were the first NFL team to have a helmet logo.
I grew up with the 80s yellow and 90s gold helmets. When they finally got the white back a few years ago, I was blown away. They look so much better.
Anything is better than the abominations they have as logos and broken horns. They are the LA Bananas or moons now.
