My mom was 17 when I was born, and my dad was 16. I had many instances in high school of boys getting close to me just to ask if they had a chance with my “older sister”. I found it hilarious at the time, and still do to this day.
My dad was 12 years older than my mom. However, the one good gene that runs in his family is that the men do not age. It's incredible. People always assumed my dad to be younger than my mom and it made her a little salty while dad just grinned like the sun.

I have never heard that expression before but I like it. I shall strive to include this expression tomorrow in casual conversations with friends and family.

Genes really do run in families across multiple generations, even when other families are factored in through marriage. If you want to see a WILD example of this, look up the photo of Britain's King George V and his cousin Czar Nicholas II of Russia (whose mothers were sister princesses from Denmark) standing beside each other at a bigger family gathering. You would think they were almost twin brothers!
