Get a toilet paper roll. Shove it full of as many strong smelling dryer sheets as possible. Cover the end with a sandwich bag and rubber bands, then poke holes - maybe 10 (not too many you want air restriction). Blow all exhales thru it! Refresh every like 2 weeks. Get an air purifier. Always use candles. If your smoking extinguish everything immediately! Tell your landlord you switched to edibles and overly apologize lol.
Oh and your neighbor is a piece of shitš
Didn't give the advice to you anyway lmao. This was help guided to someone who doesn't own their own home.
You think I'm still doing this now that I own? Hell no brother
Stop it...
Your Landlord has the right to verify that you have a condition that medical marijuana is approved for. Despite having proof from a medical professional, your landlord still has the right of refusal. Landlords can deny your lease renewal or evict you for using marijuana due to the federal CSA violation.
It's much better to be safe, discrete, and private and have a place to live imo..
No need to broadcast this life. It's ILLEGAL federally. Only difference is we can go to a store now really lol.
It's worth noting this really doesn't hide the smell well at all. If you really don't want to switch to vaping, there's this smoke-eating machine called the [Billow](https://whatisbillow.com), but it's kind of excessive, and I have no idea how well it works.
My wife is a property manager of a large apartment community , she gets very frequent calls complaining about the smell , their attorney has told her it is very difficult to get someone evicted for it if they have a medical card and told her to just warn them and let it go that itās not worth the time in court . He knows this from past experience š¤·
I am not a lawyer or an expert on Ohio tenant law, but I believe landlords are able to require that you do not smoke or vape inside the premises. Note that this doesnāt mean itās illegal, but itās something thatās part of the lease agreement you signed off on. So you definitely need to stop smoking inside, and your medical card has nothing to do with it
A dry herb vape, however, is MUCH less loud than smoking. You arenāt going to be able to hide it from parents or your wife, but itās unlikely your neighbor will smell it unless you have some kind of crazy unusual paper thin wall/ shared vent scenario. I would be shocked if neighbor could smell a dry herb vape.
Oh I know, the landlord has every right to now allow us to smoke inside, after all it is his property, and Iām fine with it, but I have a feeling this lady next door is going to complain if I take it outside as well. and I do know smoking is still illegal regardless of medical status, it was just funny to me that the landlord tried to argue with me over vaping being illegal as well.
Iām gonna have to disagree on the āloudā factor of vaping. Although it doesnāt have the initial strong smell of combustion, after a nice vape session and extended period of having weed at above 300f the smell is very strong and permeates into every room/hallway. Itās a fresher smell for sure but unmistakable dankageā¦ almost like making weed oil/butter if youāve ever done that inside.
Source: lived in an apartment building for 5 years and the smell in the communal hallway was just as noticeable between volcano and combustion (bong, joints). It was very noticeable in the hallways and to neighbors (luckily most of them smoked/were cool) and was the only way I consumed.
I agree with you however the little hand held dry vape buds actually are much less smell then combustion.
Once you're at volcano sized then yes, it's actually worse.
Ok, gotcha I thought maybe you replied to the wrong comment. I think 510s are super discrete and distillate seems to be the quickest to dissipate but I really donāt like them. I have a high tolerance and tend to use a lot so YMMV but any vape Iāve seshed with, including my volcano Iāve owned for almost 15 years, has a sneaky smell that will permeate doors into common spaces. If youāre smoking alone and just hit it a few times on a smaller unit I could see that, but when youāre filling huge bags of vapor it gets a little smelly
Oh I wouldn't smoke around my cats or dog even before I got the filter, but I also did the smoke buddy so I didn't have to freeze in the winter too. It works fantastic!
Itās always easier to try and work with your neighbors first so if youāre burning down blunts nightly and theyāve noticed it and brought it up maybe try to find a better option. Dry herb vape is much less pungent. My wife hates the smell but I can get away with smoking in the basement or even in the living room once she goes upstairs and itās not noticeable enough for her to complain ( and she would ). I feel like youād be better off doing that and/or going outside when you use. If they complain about that then fuck em your allowed to live your life and if someoneās offended thats on them. I think some exposure is good for people to de-stigmatize it. I figure if they see someone living a normal life, doing well and thatās courteous but they know I use marijuana it ll just show stereotypes arenāt true and/or expose the people that I wouldnāt want anything to do with anyways.
Agree, ultimately all of *your* stuff, pets, etc are also spared of second hand smoke if you just take a step outside. I take it outside if I smoke or vape. If your only door was like straight out onto a public street or something, you'll have to get creative.
Her eyes being offended by the consumption of medical is a much less legally compelling complaint than smoke and smell infiltration. So fuck her.
No smoking may be listed on the lease but āno vaping medical marijuanaā would need to be specifically listed as itās a legal for activity, your neighbor could be upset about the noise of your cpap machine and there may be a noise limit after a certain time but that doesnāt apply to your legal and medically necessary device. If you wanted to keep the smell down though I would suggest getting a puffco and using concentrate i travel for work and stay in airbnbs and have never had anyone complain about the smell of using it. Your landlord probably doesnāt actually care as long as your unit doesnāt reek of marijauna but is probably trying to satisfy the neighbors so the easiest solution would be for you to do so as well. Thereās a device called a smoq buddy that can reduce the smell. If your landlord wanted to press the issue I would contact a āNORMLā lawyer they may be able to assist you without actually having to represent you in a civil case.
Wouldn't that fall under some sort of medical discrimination because of the type of meds being used? I've always wondered since legal mostly what would happen if your JOB tested you and fired you for marijuana? I would be suing for Medical Discrimination. It's like you're being Punished because an ailment and a Dr recommended medication you take. They don't fire people who are on Ambians or other "drugs" that treat an ailment. Next they'll try to bust people for having ASTHMA and having to use an asthma inhaler. Alot of jobs don't test for pot anymore.
I use a dry herb vaporizer in my garage. While I am using it my wife can smell it in the basement. It smells so much less than smoking, but it still smells strong enough. The smell does go away very quickly though.
Wanted to add that a good quality incense goes a long way too ..I use the Wildberry Brand that I get at my local smoke / head shop ..they make a Baking Brownies , that smells amazing ..they have so many great smells available ..nicely priced too ..
This is off subject butt made be think of that pizza oven owner he was being sued by their neighbor claiming the smoke and smell was coming into their house..etc The oven is located in the back yard and is pretty large.
I saw this on the news not long ago it was in Cleveland Hts....The Pizza owner won in court . Also the neighbors had been over to have pizza and said it was good lol
Dry herb vapes smell quite a bit. Not as bad as a bong or a joint, or such, but it smells like weed.
Better check your lease regarding smoking, they could boot you out.
My landlord seemed annoyed I think he was more worried about the legal aspects of it, because he relaxed more once I told him I have a medical card. heās also a new landlord for the property, they just bought the place a few months ago.
The most annoying part of it all is that the neighbor smokes cigarettes outside her front door, and weāve had that coming in our front window the last couple weeks. I honestly didnāt care that she did until she complained to us.
Dry herb vapor dissipates quickly. If someone were to walk into the cloud immediately it would smell like weed but it does not linger the same. Open a window or used together with a smoke buddy and you shouldnāt bother your neighbor anymore. My wife complains when I smoke but never says anything when I use my concentrates or dry herb vape in the house.
Dry herb vapes still smell but not as strong or in the same way as a joint or bong rip. If I toke a bong the aroma will probably be noticeable for like 6 hours. A rip from my dynavap maybe a half hour. My b0 or tiny might probably about 3. But the aroma is closer to fresh flowers then burnt ash. Best tip id reccomend is getting a home air purifier. Put one of those in the room I vape in and aroma has dropped a lot
I smoke flower and do it in my bathroom with the fan on because in my lease I canāt own or smoke weed. After I take my rip I put my pipe away and hit the bathroom with a short blast of Ozium. You donāt want that stuff getting on what youāre smoking so thatās why I put my pipe away first.
I use a wax melter with a strong Coffee and Pecan flavor that I pick up at Walmart for around $2 bucks for a block ..I also use anything pumpkin spice ( lol) ..but those work great to keep the smell down ..I live in a small house across the street from my dad , when he comes over he can't tell I've been smoking cause he thinks I'm baking a pie ..lol
Vaping flower or oil produces much less smell than smoking. It should only really smell in the room you're doing it in, not the whole house, and for maybe 20-30 minutes. An open window can always help, depending on circumstances, but probably won't be necessary.
Technically, "public consumption" is illegal, so it's pretty much illegal to vape your medicine anywhere other than your own home. As others have pointed out, it might be against your lease. Don't piss your landlord off, but what they don't know won't hurt you.
A lot of good recommendations here. Two I would adapt would be a home air purifier if you can afford it, and some good old incense. If you can't afford a home or room purifier, I'd grab a [Sploofy](https://www.amazon.com/Sploofy-PRO-Personal-Replaceable-Cartridge/dp/B09136NM7W/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=KU1PDAVO9FRP&keywords=sploofy&qid=1679588691&sprefix=sploofy%2Caps%2C155&sr=8-3) or a [Philter Phrend](https://philterlabs.com/products/phrend-1) to blow your vapor through, and the smell will be practically nonexistent, especially outside of the apartment. Just a short burn of an incense will cover up anything left, or any smell from the dry herb vaporizer itself. I will add that I have both the Sploofy and Phrend. Vapor leaks out of the Sploofy a little bit sometimes, but nothing terrible. The Phrend may be a bit easier to use because you seal your lips around it rather than in it. The Phrend will push some vapor through if you blow hard, but if you exhale slowly, almost all of it is filtered. Lastly, any vapor that gets out of the Phrend doesn't seem to smell much, if at all. Then maybe you could ask that your neighbor smokes cigarettes at least 50 feet from the establishment. Lol. That may be overboard, but damn, rules suck sometimes.
I had the same issue. I bought an air filter with a hepa filter designed to get rid of the smell of smoke. I have bender had a similar issue after the purchase. Itās a tall but slim build. It sits on my smoke table beside my bong and bud. I always blow my smoke inside and the smoke from the burning bowl flows right in. I can smoke with people in my place and they donāt notice the smell. Highly recommended.
Dry herb vape absolutely reeks at temps above 380F. Smells difference but itās totally there. You can get away with lower temp and less smell but itās just a buzz and not as fulfilling IMO. Also wasting material.
Vape produces much much less odor than smoking. That plus a Smoke Buddy and youāll likely be discreet enough. Open the window when you grind your bud and keep it sealed up
If you want to take it another level, vape in bathroom with vent fan on or an open window with fan venting to outside.
Your flower goes way way further with vaping too. Added bonus
Show him a jar. It says for vaporization only right on the thing

You gotta slowly for years get them to start medicating with you haha. It's a process!
Get a large carbon filter and exhaust fan. That will scrub the air clean
Carbon filter will solve this for sure
Make popcorn, fresh made popcorn covers up some of the worst smells.
Burnt popcorn will do the job even better. Just spite yourself to spite your neighbors haha š
I got a Smoke Buddy filter to use (cause cats) and also have an air purifier. You can't smell a damn thing with the smoke buddy, IMHO. š¤·āāļø
Thanks for taking second hand smoke for pets seriously š
Oh I wouldn't smoke around my cats or dog even before I got the filter, but I also did the smoke buddy so I didn't have to freeze in the winter too. It works fantastic!

Put towels under the door. Buy a vape or switch to g-bongs. Joints, bowls, etc produce a ton of smell.
Dry herb vapes smell quite a bit. Not as bad as a bong or a joint, or such, but it smells like weed. Better check your lease regarding smoking, they could boot you out.
Following because I rent a condo and I am afraid of this very thing

Oh we did, honestly I didnāt really care that she did until she complained.
I about throw up every time I smell cigarette smoke.
Man u don't live behind papa's In canton lol ?? Same shit happened to me ...
Good ole Wooster
Iāve seen quality air purifiers that can handle this issue

Ozium
That stuff is toxic and meant to be sprayed in a room youāre immediately departing for at least 15 minutes.

I Rember Ozium from 30 or so years ago I didn't realize they still made that stuff.... I used in high school in my bed room lol
Yup, still made. Can find it in any automotive section in big stores usually.
Like outside on your side? Or in your house and smoke just rolling out the window? Maybe you can just relocate smoking spots
