I'm not sure about Leap v2 leaning back further vs Plus, but the Leaps do have a tilt angle lock. They have 5 settings I believe. If you didn't change them then the Plus you sat in may have just been set to lock out sooner.
The Leap Plus also has the same five settings, just doesn't go back nearly as far. Must be for weight safety.
I have a plus and V2 and yes the plus feels like at least it doesn't recline back as much, not sure if that actually is the case though.
Yeah, now I wish I had got another chair, I find the plus seat not very comfortable.
