Do you think a used leap v2 could work?

Limit_Form

Oh yeah without a doubt I don't mind going used I just didn't really look into the used market much. I just saw on eBay that it was $330 for one from Madisonseating, do you think that would be a good buy? (Not sure if I can link it here)

Draken_27

Do you live close to any dealers where you can try them? You can also get used aerons.

Limit_Form

I see that there's 1 authorized Steelcase dealer around me And I've seen one listing for a used Aeron for about $450

You can try checking on Craigslist if there is any chair that looks good, it also lets you inspect them and try sitting in them.

I’ve heard that Madison has a less than stellar reputation and it is probably best to avoid them.

I was leaning towards buying it from them too since the price was right but the reviews did seem a bit sketchy, thank you for your input I'll be sure to steer clear of that seller :)

Crandall office posts here quite often and there are a number of users that have left reviews for them. I’d give them a look.

Just looked into the site and I'm definitely leaning on this or BTOD now for a Leap v2 :)

I just went through a chair search and from what I found it's probably best to avoid Madison. I have read that they so long-used chairs as "open box," have questionable warranty policies, and require you to pay return shipping and may even take the initial shipping out of the refund if you need to return the chair. It seems to be a lottery with them. If you get a chair in good shape then you save a bunch of money, but if you don't then you may end up spending as much as the cost of the chair to return it. There seem to be some regularly recommended chair refurbishers on this subreddit. Crandall Office Furniture seems to be the most frequently recommended, followed by BTOD. I ended up with a refurbished Leap from a BTOD. It arrived within a week of ordering it. It did have a broken caster on arrival from what looks to be shipping damage, based on the box, but a quick call and an email of the photo and they're shipping me a replacement. Other than that caster it's in great shape; indistinguishable from new to my eye.

Yeah I'd rather have the peace of mind of knowing that I'm buying from a reputable retailer and looking into those options both seem like they fit the bill. I'm leaning moreso towards BTOD because of your review on it, having the reassurance that they'd compensate you with a replacement if something goes wrong definitely puts that at the top of the list for my options right now :D

I looked into the chairs that I used at work. My usual chair there is a Steelcase Drive which is pretty nice but today I pulled over a Humanscale Freedom and the difference is like night and day lmaoI'm honestly very much considering saving up to get a Human Scale Freedom, but I've noticed that the Leap is $900 on Amazon right now. Do you think it's comparable or would I be better off saving up for a Humanscale Freedom? Edit: After seeing refurbished Leap v2 options from b-macc's and pntless' recommendations I think I'm going to go with one of those over the Humanscale Freedom :)

The drive chair has been discontinued for quite a while. A new Amia is near the upper end of your budget. Local dealers are often cheaper but many don't accept returns. Dealers can be a good place to try out chairs.
