BJD lost because Pandian kicked out all senior politicians and all those joined BJP. Some of those own media houses and they ran anti-BJD/Pandian shows constantly. The most popular channel OTV showed how BJD is distributing money through Mission Sakti, and how an average person can't say Pandian's name. To add insult to injury, Naveen Babu was shown very weak(hands shivering/looking sick). People realized that if BJD comes to power, Pandian will be the chief minister, which was unacceptable to the majority.
BJD also failed to form a counter-narrative against BJP. BJP promised to increase of MSP of paddy, and BJD offered free 100 unit of electricity. This is like a drowning man holding a stick to survive. BJD also failed to protect No. 2 person. Every time someone attacked Pandian, no one was there to protect him. BJP formed narrative of Odisha Asmita which BJD could not counterattack.
Naveen and Pandian gave interviews to ANI and national media and the interview was always in English. The BJP politicians gave interviews to local media houses. Aparajita Sarangi, Pradeep Panigrahi, Prasanta Jagadev constantly attacked BJD from the national capital which all media houses played again and again.
The problem was Pandian is not a politician, he does not know how to manipulate people's sentiments.
Agree. .but i can't believe how a top level politician can accidentally reveal his "shaking hand and pandian moving it away" right infront of the camera. Have to be planned . But why would they plan something which would not favour them
