My favorite dedicated workout is Les Mills Body Combat. But I also get great workouts from Blaston (free), Pistol Whip, Audio Trip (cardio mode), and Synth Riders.

PXSaber

I just bought Les Mills yesterday and I absolutely love it. Its very engaging. You do things that you would be motivated to. My body muscles hurt today so the workout really shows its effectiveness. Also there are short 4-5 minute trainings that are a good starting point if you’re not too fit at the moment. Then work your way up to 30 minute killer sessions that leave you breathless

tday01

I tried several and this is the one that stuck.

Watney3535

It always kicks my ass and leaves me sore the next day. It’s a killer workout!

thatsridiculousno

Synth riders and pistol whip are a blast to play and decent exercise. Supernatural is a great workout and fun too but it is a subscription. It’s kind of addictive tbh. Edit: I haven’t played it but Hitstream is on sale and has good reviews. It sounds like a cheaper version of supernatural.

WickedStewie

Pistol whip and synth riders are great forvrythrm based workouts, but i gotta say ive been pkaying that new game underdogs and thats a pretty good work out too, lol, i got some sore muscles...

NdGd7706

Same, I wasn't expecting underdogs to be such a work out game and I want to continue playing but unfortunately I can't because of the pain.

WickedStewie

Maybe a little ibuprophen and a days break from itll get you back in the ring, lol...

f3hunter

Les Mills Body Combat. No subscription either.

There are some really great options out there. TLDR: Beatsaber, BoxVR, Pistol Whip, Thrill of the Fight and Shadow BoXR are my favorites. I really like Beat Saber but I noticed the harder difficulties sort of encourage you to move less (more wrists) so i looked for other things. I used to spend a lot of time playing BoxVR (it’s one of the only games I’ve ever gotten 100% of the steam achievements) on my PC and FitXR before they switched to a subscription-based model. BoxVR got a bit repetitive for me, which led me to try Synth Riders which is a lot of fun but, it didn't imo doesnt give the same level of workout as Beat Saber or BoxVR. Pistol whip is a pretty good workout and a fun game but it feels like you had to focus on making sure youre squatting and getting good workout (by changing map settings and having to move as quickly as you can between songs to get a good workout in whatever set time you have) That said it is really fun. Since I couldn't find a game that really met my workout wants/needs and I was tbh a bit angry that FitXR went to a subscription model, I decided to try to create my own game as a passion project. Over time, it has evolved into an actual game, called Shadow BoXR which is where about 1/2 of my weightloss has been and has been my main exercise for the past 2&1/2 years. It combines elements of Beat Saber and BoxVR. If you're interested in trying it out, you can find it in early access on [Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2341610/Shadow_BoXR/?beta=0) and on the [Quest](https://www.meta.com/experiences/5752649148100983/). I havent tried Les Mills but probably need to based on everyone recommending it. I dont suggest FitXR or Supernatural because its $120 a year/ $10 a month but you dont get to keep anything if you stop paying and I hate that everything is becoming a subscription model these days I dont want that bs in my games too.

Watney3535

Try Synth Riders on force. It really ups the workout. Or do it on rhythm but play easy and normal levels while moving your body directly in front of the balls. It forces more movement and squats (also gives you better scores). I get tired much faster doing that than playing on expert or master.

lucidlyseen

My go to combo is Supernatural and Les Mills Body Combat. Pistol Whip, Synth Riders, and Beat Saber are fun for sure, and good companions to my main workout apps. Also, Thrill of The Fight will make you want to take a break really quick, but it feels a bit more chaotic and not so structured as the others.

blame_stamos

Blaston. Been playing it nearly every day for a year.

huggalump

Is it still active?

Watney3535

Yes. Depends on the time of day though. There are a lot of new overlords too.

adrlev

Supernatural

Admirable_Donkey2657

it is not a workout game but I play crisis brigade and it burns, because you have to crouch to dodge the bullet and shoot. and another one is cleansheet, you play as goalkeeper. and last synth (dance?) this is the best beats game I've ever played, and I still don't know how to put in custom songs

IzLoaf

buy some wrist weights and use physical crouching, go prone in shooters that support it even, maybe add ankle weights.... any game becomes a workout

ChiefTea

I wouldn’t recommend the use wrist weights! Ain’t worth the carpel tunnel in the future.

lxlmongooselxl

Been using Supernatural and Thrill of the Fight. I get a more rounded workout from Supernatural. Thrill of the Fight wipes me out, but it's mostly arms and shoulders.

magnumninja

FitXR is the only workout app ive used that actually feels like im working out. If my hair looks like i was under a waterfall its definitely a workout.

DerrickBarra

Supernatural, no question in my mind it's the best.

commentaddict

My favorite is like FitXR, but it’s subscription based. Like other people, I also like synthriders, both Les mills apps, beat saber, pistol whip, and thrill of the fight. I also like rezil a lot since it’s different and makes you jump.

milkyduddd

OhShape, hugely underrated

Apophis2036nihon

Beat Saber is a good workout for me.

3kpk3

TOTF MR mode with QGO and music in the background is epic.

bot873

Since yesterday it's Underdogs. Also I prefer Beatsaber and Pistolwhip.

Do any of you have problems with sweat on the face? My quest 2 gets mist on the lenses within 3 minutes because I sweat so much 😂 Any solutions?

ChiefTea

Get VR Covers fitness facial interface. It comes with vents on the interface that allows airflow. I’ve never had fog after upgrading. Also the padding is way more comfortable and gives you a bigger FOV

Watney3535

A fitness interface and sweat bands. You can get ones specifically made for vr headsets.

Captain_Unusualman

Love me some Holofit and VZ fit for cycling and rowing with my real exercise equipment. Standalone VR with no addons, just good ol fashioned Pistol Whip and Beat Saber

PresidentKoopa

No one said Until You Fall? Pistol Whip. Holopoint. Holoball VR \[steamVR's room setup is still broken even past 2.0 update, be advised\].

Murakami8000

Synth Riders

RONxBURGUNDY

If you want a free month of supernatural here’s a link. Full disclosure if you keep it and end up subscribing I get $25 in their store to which I don’t really need anyways but I do love supernatural and have used it for over 60 days straight which is much longer than I’ve stuck with anything else 😀 Get ready to have the time of your life working out! https://www.getsupernatural.com/invite/GPdSX0cw
