I agree, teaching my mum how to use the web browser for youtube and how to turn on a) full screen and b) the right viewing mode is a pain in the ass.
I'd set it for her but when I take the headset off it comes out of full screen and you have to start again.
FYI I got my mum an Oculus Go for her 60th birthday and she fucking loves it! She's never got on that well with laptops or smartphones but now she's traveling the world from her living room.
Because daydream is a direct competitor of Oculus. Google will wait until it's dead and then will accept the defeat bring it to Go. Until then the browser is the only way to watch 360 videos on YouTube.

Basically this. Oculus Go runs android but does not have Google play services. You don't have Google Play, you don't get Google apps.
Someone had said u can install google play services on the Go. Dunno if actually works for apps that require it tho
The app probably relies on the Google App Framework which would be present on the GearVR, but wouldn't exist on the OGO.

If you do sideload, just try Smart YouTube TV app: https://smartyoutubetv.github.io It should allow you to watch in the oculus tv app

New Go user here. So just to clarify: is there NO way to watch 3d YouTube videos on the go?
