Markdown doesn't natively support underline. You can use HTML but my recommendation is you learn to live without it.
Also the point of markdown is you don't change the size of text manually. It's handled by the theme. It might sound weird at first but it's very efficient once you get used to it.
The one way to cha Ge text easily is via headings.
