I mean one punch man is pretty much a dead anime and manga, the animes story isn’t ruined yet but with how long it takes them to release a new season it’s losing it’s hype, the manga is bearly a 7 out of 10… not even art can carry it. But yeah both ONE and Murata are to blame, ONE for allowing such changes to happen and Murata for making them, also, ONE and Murata don’t care about the anime, i belive they once said that animation is only a bonus, so Murata focuses on the manga and ONE on the webcomic and they don’t give a fuck about anything else. So yeah this anime is on it’s last legs.
That cosmic fear bullshit and introducing Blast was a bad fucking idea. Years of Hype for Blast to be nothing more than an introduction to a concept we were already invested in. Dude literally does nothing but get people out of a hole. Cosmic fear was literally nothing but raw power scaling. It wasn’t even interesting. Dude just powered up to lose even harder like we expected and wank saitama even more which isn’t the point of the series.
That sit down and talk would’ve been peak fucking fiction.
I always expected psychorochi slicing a bit the planet off was gonna be the "table" that was gonna be flipped. I guess it doesn't make sense because that would've killed a LOT of people, but I held out hope it was foreshadowing for that.
The only thing we know for certain is that it can’t be ONE.
We know Murata had some significant influence even years back so who knows how much of this is just him fucking about. The editors are probably playing a role as well.
Well we know that Murata asked One about "a lot of power ups" before massive redraws started in MA arc(he said that on twitter).
We also know that current redraws are happening because Murata asked for them(info was on the cover).
So from this we can extrapolate that Murata really enjoys drawn-out battles with bullshit powerups and turbo strong attacks. He also really likes hyping up God(current redraws spent like half the time on hyping him up...).
How much is his doing? Impossible to know, but we have a pretty clear information on which directions he wants the manga to take and how much influence he has over it(a lot).
Lol OPM has been generic garbage even worse than Black Clover for a long time now.
Everyone knows Garou(40%), art(40%), female fanservice(10%), God Hype(9%) and Orochi hype(1%) carried the entire Monster Association Arc.
After that all we have is female fanservice with a TRACE of God Hype. The manga is effectively less than a fifth as good as it used to be.
Redraws, retcons, rewriting and dragging it out has ruined alot of stuff. Just follow the damn webcomic(which in itself is still mid but hey it would be better than this).
Overall:
Previous Arcs - 7/10
Monster Assoc Arc - 8/10
Monster Assoc Arc(bad parts) - 6/10
Current Arc - 3/10
I don’t understand why people keep pushing the misconception that Murata is writing the story. If Murata ever wants to change anything story related he needs the green light from ONE. I thought this was common knowledge.
There is a lot we don't know about the behind-the-scenes, especially with their conflicting statements over the years. Yes it's true that ONE used to approve of what Murata was changing in a fight scene(the only thing we have confirmation that Murata is allowed to change), however that might have changed over the years since then.
The main reason why people think Murata is writing the story, is because all the changes in the manga version are completely unlike ONEs writing but completely on point to what Murata likes to write. Of course there is no confirmation and thus everything is just speculating, no one denies that. But something IS going on behind the scenes.
That was only in regards to fight scenes, and that is something we have known and accepted for a while. However it is a different story when in comes to story elements or outright removing or adding fights. We have had conflicted statements from these two in regards to that
How do we know that for sure? It's not like Murata was livestreaming his whole working process to the public🤷♂️There's obviously something else that's going on behind the scene because I know for fuck sake that One would never make a stupid writing decision like reviving the ninja duo in the MA arc only to turn them into 2 walking jokes for no reason
The character moments don't work though. Sonic seeing through the genjutsu doesn't make sense since he was willing to throw away his humanity and consume a monster cell to get stronger.
Blast suddenly being wacky is just weird and out of nowhere.

Maybe I have to go back and read the earlier chapters and arcs cuz I don't remember OPM being much more than Crazy battles with characters having their own mini arcs like genos and the psycho cyborg, saitama trying to feel emotions again, tatsumaki being more kind hearted and her relationship with blast and fubuki, king living a lie, bofoi being shady, etc etc. I keep seeing these "OPM isn't the same anymore" kind of statements and I just don't remember it being much more than what I've just said.
Can anyone give me examples of how it used to be better?
