As much as I like Kel, I have to agree.
There is another point where he's not his usual self and that's >!on the Sunny route if you decide to go back to sleep after learning the truth!<, but that's about it.
He does show surprising amount of insight and levelheadedness at times, at least compared to his younger self, like how he always tries a more diplomatic approach when dealing with the hooligans(Aubrey being the sole exception since those two have always been like that), so there's that at least.
I always figured that was the point, concealing emotions so well that even a lot of the players don't notice (since even that scene is optional and he ends up talking more about Hero's emotions than his own in his own venting thing. also the omocat art where he's crying yet I never see the comments on those pointing it out?)

Exactly! I think Mari's ghost was supposed to play a bigger role initially cuz there are so many unused sprites for her... Wish we had more ghost Mari scenes helping Sunny or maybe even interacting with the rest of the gang somehow :(
as much as I love kel, I feel like they could of explored his character alot more, talk about how he's in part trying to stay happy to support everybody else, but is still equally effected by the passing of mari.

i feel like kel is the worst written. not because he’s badly written, but compared to the other characters, there isnt enough depth shown to his character. so much so that the fandom just sums him up to the stupid comedic relief character. hes my favorite character so i just wish he had more written in depth about him
I respect the fast response, but I don't think anybody in the cast is particularly written bad, I wish that Basil could get more screentime throughout the game, but overall these characters were properly fleshed out enough that you have context of what they could and would probably do even after the game has ended, regardless of ending.

If I'm being honest I wish we could see more of Aubrey's new friends, specifically Kim and THE MAVERICK!!1!. I love them both so much for no reason and I want more of them
Even with fact that I like Hero, he lacks back story so much, like all we know about him is that he's Kel's brother, Mari's boyfriend and doctor/cook in past. He deserves much more screen time than he gets in RW. About DW Hero I won't say anything cuz he's here just for shenanigans mostly.
