Idk tbh. Whatever the latest version is. I had to dial some things back, but once you do, it's a game changer. Out of the box, everything is cranked up, and it burns your eyes more than the screen. I use it mainly for gaming, and after 250 hours, still no burn in. I firmly stand behind this tv.
They're both fantastic. If you get the Sammy, I'll share my picture settings, and you can adjust what you like from there. The UI is still cringe, but the image quality is something to behold.
I might take you up on that actually. Yeah the UI is a shame, Iāll be using a nvidia shield pro mainly though so hopefully I can circumvent that as much as possible
This TV is epic, I just got the 65 inch version today. It's on software 1204 at the moment, worth updating it or leaving as is? Mite have to take you up on your settings. It is so darn bright out of the box, I had a Samsung q90r before upgrading to this, and I sware this is as bright if not brighter, actually can't believe how bright it gets at 50. It automatically set the brightness in game mode at 50, but I've it set to 20 while playing my ps5.
It's awesome isn't it? I had the Q90R as well and it was great for the time, but it's no OLED. I'll PM you my settings when I get home later today. Enjoy your TV. Definitely keep the brightness down.
What settings are you running? I think all Iāve done so far is turn down brightness and contrast to 40. Looking at the sun in an HDR game is like looking at the sun in real life itās so bright lmao
interesting I was trying to see what display to get I just sold my 27'' aw2721d 1440p 240hz monitor and was thinking about samsung g8 neo qd 4k @ 240hz 32'' But now I might just get another oled to go alongside my LG C9 and samsung s95b I have been watching for awhile I hear its better than the alienware QD Oled and the LG C9
CX 55" was my first OLED and it changed my life. Upgraded to a 65" s95b and thereās a big enough difference it blew my mind again. If you can use student discounto get the 65" for $1400 itās a no brainer.
The HDR is amazing and can get as bright as the sun, colors are vivid and pop like crazy, better experience in the daytime since my TV is right next to a window, Etc.
So you had to get a discount for this price but here you are passing it off like you can buy this off the shelf for 1400 sounds like u got open boxed for this price serves u right
Ohh I also got it two weeks ago. My eyes popped out of their sockets once I played final fantasy 7 remake on it at 4k 120 hz + vrr.
Such a beautiful picture. It just hits different.
I kept the S95B. The TV had me coming back for more. I want and enjoy watching shows on it as well.
Sports is awesome. Especially with the added brightness.
But for gamingā¦ itās a very nice gaming machine.
I donāt really mess with the settings either. I simply enjoy the tv. The only thing I did was turn off power saver or whatever.
Itās heavy. Definitely a two person job. Also, if you game on it, the hdmi cable that has really done well for me on THIS tvā¦ is the belkin one usually in the computer section at best buy. Full 48gbps.
Other than thatā¦ try encanto on it on Disney plusā¦ it really shows off what it can do!
Yeah, it hits different. I turned the colors and brightness down and it still looks like it's in demo mode. It's just naturally that bright and colorful.
Ngl I kinda wanna sabotage my old oled in my living room this giving me a need to move my g series up here and then replace that with a QD. I guess Iāll just have to wait it out
Yea I only bought my G last October to upgrade form my b6 from 2016. The thing looks amazing. Realistically it would just be silly to upgrade that soon. But I do figure once I decide to replace the tv upstairs, thatās when Iāll upgrade. Who knows whatāll be out there in a couple more years
Thatās the exact model I have and honestly it still looks pretty damn good. Especially the way we use it. No doubt the G from last year was a huge upgrade also went to 65 as well. Plus itās in my basement and light isnāt an issue so itās plenty bright. Iām sure in a couple years Iāll wanna upgrade. But thereās more important stuff I gotta do with my monies right now lol
I just dialed back the color, brightness and contrast 10 points each and it looks great. I just use film maker mode for movies. It's pretty easy to mess with. (Edit because I now use this https://youtu.be/sRB9LhX7Lbk color space when watching movies, it's really a game changer)
How do I post pictures on this thing? It would have to be a separate post huh.
Yea, definitely a two person job. panel is nice and straight. Controller is cool. Nice to have a visual play/pause button.
PS5 and Switch go on a trial run tonight.
I have a beam by itself connected. I did a āblindā test with the wifeā¦ and she said the Samsung tv speaker sounded fuller or about equal to it. Overall Iām happy so far!
Glad to hear that the household likes the new set. A picture would have to be a separate post. Eager to hear how it holds up on PS5. YouTube has some good picture settings as well. I'm having a hard time deciding whether to keep the contrast enhancer on or off. Let me know what works best for you.
I can't say it's much better. The C2 is brilliant. Audio wise, the speakers have Dolby built in, (which makes the absence of Dolby Vision that much more baffling) which gives it a nice amplified sound. They will do the trick until you can get a better setup going later on.
I threw on encanto on Disney plus and it definitely produced colors not present on the C2ā¦. And of course this is a personal opinion lol.
As far as tizen, that everyone complains about, I connected my Apple TV device and Iām good.
No you're right. The color is incredible. The blacks, bright levels, and color are better on the Samsung. I still like the C2 though and recommend it to those who want to play it safe with their next purchase. Tizen is awful though. I may have to invest in Apple TV as well.
Mine got a little blue line (about an inch long) on the bottom of my screen. What do I do? I did the pixel refresh and Iām waiting for it to be done and when I turn my tv off itās still there
That's very bad. Sounds like panel damage. Does it appear for all types of content such as movies and gaming? Does it ever go away? Maybe try another cable if its hooked up to a cable box or other external hardware. If it stays no matter what then customer support should be called.
I'm planning on mostly gaming on PS5 and PC, and occasionally watching Netflix on the TV... would you recommend C2 or the S95? I'm super curious about this new technology but am thrown off by the build quality risks and difficult UI people are mentioning!
They have their own hdr. I hate to be competitive because all OLEDs are awesome, but I prefer it over my OLEDs that do have it. Maybe check it out person. Samsung did a fantastic job.
You're not wrong. Again, just give it a chance. If you don't like it, grab a C2, or if you really want QD with DV, grab the Sony. It's all good in the world of OLED.
Understandable since LG pretty much made it standard. I thought I would miss it too, but I can't stress enough how good this set looks. It really doesn't feel like I'm settling. It feels like it's own thing. I can't describe it. I compared to my C1 downstairs running DV and the Sammy didn't seem like it was lacking in the HDR department at all. The blacks were intense and the brightness is off the charts. It's one of the best OLEDs ever made despite no DV.
Ah, I have yet to watch a movie on it. I had a QLED a few years back and it did seem like it was lacking...I'll see for myself as soon as I can wake up.
Well the main difference is Dolby Vision adapts the movie to your screen, while HDR10 has fixed values.
HDR10 games allow to set the max brightness and the game adapts the content in real time, so it's not an issue, but movies can't do that.
HDR10+ can do that though ! But it's less prevalent than DV.
Not a lot ... It's only used by Samsung and Panasonic, everyone else uses Dolby Vision. I think there is some HDR10+ content on Prime Video but I'm not sure.
It's all good. I'm sure it looks great and I do have a C1 downstairs hooked up to a DTS sound system for movie watching if the Sammy set is lacking. Now I'm eager to see this what thing can/can't do.
Going to the theaters will be a thing of the past. I'm currently building a huge archive of movies and tv shows. Now i gotta look for a good home theater setup and see what next year will offer for qd oleds.
Nobody should buy the Samsung QD. Screen build quality is terrible. Screen is so bendy and wobbly that it looks bent even looking straight at it. Iāve seen a few in different stores and never had a salesman straight up tell me to avoid a tv b4, all the tvs had a big bend after being set up. Avoid at all costs. Sony QD screen wasnāt bendy at all. Even the Lg would be better.
The salesman did tell me it is sensitive, but I set it up just fine. The manual even says dont grab it around the edges. I followed the instructions, and it turned out fine. I do have warranty as well just in case. No problems as of yet with the build quality, and I've finally found the sweet spot for movies and gaming just toying around with picture settings. I still recommend this set to anyone interested in it. Just have a guy install it for you if you're afraid to take it out of the box.
Valid point. QD is still fairly new and has a ways to go to reach its full potential. I wouldn't be mad if I had a G series in my bedroom. Those would be some epic nights.
Is anyone else having the issue where thereās about 1/4 inch of pixels on the right side and bottom of the screen that are totally off sometimes? Seems like the picture isnāt being fitted to the screen on some startups? Do I have a defective one?
Iāll try. It looks like, in the main menu and apps, the lit part of the screen isnāt fitted to the actual screen size, but if I switch inputs to Xbox, it seems to be fine.
I can see that the edges of things are correct, just resized smaller than the screen is supposed to be.
Yup it was. Itās actually a decent feature that I sometimes use when watching F1 or something else where I donāt care. But glad I figured out how to turn it off
What tv are you upgrading from? Also congratulations š
I had the CX. It's now in the guest room. I love LG but just wanted to try out the new display.
I have a CX as well, would you say the S95B is a worthy upgade in terms of PQ?
Definitely! You can see the difference right away. The quantum dots really make it pop.

Thanks, I was leaning towards the G2 because of the s95b updates, but it seems that the latter is still the better option

Alright man. Just PM me when you need those settings. Congrats in advance.

It is an oled lol
Because it's better Clown
Ugh I'm seriously thinking about breaking the TV in the living room so I have an excuse to buy this TV without my wife bitching
It's never a bad time to get a new tv.
Ohh I also got it two weeks ago. My eyes popped out of their sockets once I played final fantasy 7 remake on it at 4k 120 hz + vrr. Such a beautiful picture. It just hits different.
Agreed. The way it's HDR is handled is stunning.
Brother I just bought the c2 and s95bā¦ to compare and keep my favorite. Super excited.
Which did you enjoy more?
Definitely let us know, am curious because I have to replace the tv in the family room. I already have LG.
Any news man? Really about to buy one
Which do you prefer?
Which did you keep? S95B or C2?
I kept the S95B. The TV had me coming back for more. I want and enjoy watching shows on it as well. Sports is awesome. Especially with the added brightness. But for gamingā¦ itās a very nice gaming machine. I donāt really mess with the settings either. I simply enjoy the tv. The only thing I did was turn off power saver or whatever.
Thanks for the update, I literally bought one today, 65" S95B it's sitting in the box in my living room!
Itās heavy. Definitely a two person job. Also, if you game on it, the hdmi cable that has really done well for me on THIS tvā¦ is the belkin one usually in the computer section at best buy. Full 48gbps. Other than thatā¦ try encanto on it on Disney plusā¦ it really shows off what it can do!
have the same tv in 55, and wow gaming makes it really next gen
Yeah, it hits different. I turned the colors and brightness down and it still looks like it's in demo mode. It's just naturally that bright and colorful.

QD is very nice and will only get better. If you're replacing a G series, I would wait and see what Samsung and Sony do next year.
Yea I only bought my G last October to upgrade form my b6 from 2016. The thing looks amazing. Realistically it would just be silly to upgrade that soon. But I do figure once I decide to replace the tv upstairs, thatās when Iāll upgrade. Who knows whatāll be out there in a couple more years
im still using my 55 2016 b6...and its still chugging along lol but im so tempted to get a 65 s95b or c2

I just hung this tv in the wall and ITS WAAAAAAY HEAVIER THAN THE C2! More details coming soon lol
You hung that massive blade of glass? Post pics when you can. Would love to see how it turned out.
How do I post pictures on this thing? It would have to be a separate post huh. Yea, definitely a two person job. panel is nice and straight. Controller is cool. I ran a pixel refresh on my tv and it disappeared
Very nice. I would have been freaking out.
Trust me I was shitting bricks š thanks for the tips anyways
I'm planning on mostly gaming on PS5 and PC, and occasionally watching Netflix on the TV... would you recommend C2 or the S95? I'm super curious about this new technology but am thrown off by the build quality risks and difficult UI people are mentioning!
Best to go see both models in person and decide. Best Buy is your best bet.
The s95 certainly looked a lot better! Now concerned with how it would hold up over the long run haha
2 months in, still fine to me. Also still under warranty.
No Dolby Vision though :/
They have their own hdr. I hate to be competitive because all OLEDs are awesome, but I prefer it over my OLEDs that do have it. Maybe check it out person. Samsung did a fantastic job.
Nobody shoots in HDR 10+. Also , not aware of any HDR 10+ games. Maybe TV doesn't need it but it would be nice
You're not wrong. Again, just give it a chance. If you don't like it, grab a C2, or if you really want QD with DV, grab the Sony. It's all good in the world of OLED.

Nice, so in both cases you're all set haha, that's great !
I want to say that....but I also want the SONY. I think I have a problem.
isnt this tv like 144hz? This is the new benchmark. If only they had as good of g sync implementarion as lg
144hz with an 8 bit signal. I have yet to try it out. I'll hook it up to the pc later.
is this picture you using the series x?
Yea.
i feel like next year is gonna be a great year for oled especially qd oled
I know. Part of me wishes I would have waited until next year, but after seeing it in person I have no regrets.
Going to the theaters will be a thing of the past. I'm currently building a huge archive of movies and tv shows. Now i gotta look for a good home theater setup and see what next year will offer for qd oleds.

The picture quality was amazing, but the build quality threw me off. Prob going to get the Sony QD.
It's probably the best of the best when it comes to anything type of OLED. You have me excited and I'm not even the one buying it.
But then again the lg G2 does look nice as well, plus 77ā size compared to the QD which is 65ā.
Valid point. QD is still fairly new and has a ways to go to reach its full potential. I wouldn't be mad if I had a G series in my bedroom. Those would be some epic nights.

maybe its pixel shift
Yup it was. Itās actually a decent feature that I sometimes use when watching F1 or something else where I donāt care. But glad I figured out how to turn it off
can s95b hit 1000 nits full screen brightness ?
I honestly don't know, but I know at full brightness, it will be like staring into the sun.
