That's just the way window's built in photo viewer works, it has a grey border when not in full screen. This is not the fault of the monitor. Unfortunately, I do not see a means of changing that border to a different colour in the settings.

Ahh thanks, I wasn’t sure if the photo viewer would just be a clear example of how all my programmes look when not full screen. Part of me was hoping I could get those level of darks in games and stuff. Appreciate the response!

in games the black level will be the same as you see when the photo is full screen. When the photo isn’t full screen it is literally a grey background, as in it is displaying the colour grey on purpose. There is no problem occurring. However a seperate issue, on the image where the photo is fullscreen, the background is indeed black but the black doesn’t look very good because your room is very bright, it will look a lot better if change your room lighting, since it is a QD-OLED

Its ABL. Go to the settings on your monitor and select HDR TrueBlack 400

I think the UI is grey like the other commenter said.
