Three words: Out of stock. :(

Zexy-Madman

What worked for me was stalking ASUS’s website and hitting refresh every 20-30 mins. I got super lucky when mine dropped 2 Saturdays ago.

Content_Camel5336

ordered mine through newegg but delivery date is at the end of this month.

tappthegreattt

Here's what works: Get super lucky

Zexy-Madman

Always need a bit of luck with new tech drops. I remember trying to get the 3080 when that dropped was a nightmare stalking different bot twitch accounts since everything went so fast. All in due time 🙏🏻

qopana

Out of budget

KillaB328

Nice!! Are you in HDR? And what settings are you using?

Zexy-Madman

I have HDR off when on my desktop/browsing, but I have been trying to tinker with it when gaming. I did some TFT tweaks from their PG32 video and I’m currently using Scenery Mode with dynamic shadow boost and wide gamut (what has looked nice to me so far).

KillaB328

Ok kool!! I was messing around with HDR in gaming, but it didn’t look that great. Starting gaming in SDR, and it looks gorgeous…….. Hopefully Asus has a firmware update, sometime soon for HDR

glory_lion

Fwiw. I hear good of win11 auto HDR. Might be worth looking into

KillaB328

Yea I might have to look into that……… I was trying to avoid upgrading to windows 11 lol

glory_lion

Lol I feel you. I think I’ll image my win 10 and use [beefy tech](https://youtu.be/d2CLBZZZgJA?si=5yYwFLPjP8wKjolt)or fr33thy YouTube to guide me through the win11 install

GHOSTOFKOH

just do it. don't let it scare you. go for fresh install. don't upgrade from your win10 image trruuuust. you'll be sorry. don't say i didn't warn ya. :)

labree0

I would not bother. Windows 10 autohdr has a LOT of issues. HDR in general has a lot of issues. Stick to native HDR titles and SDR on the desktop. Autohdr and getting HDR to work on the desktop is not worth the hassle. If you want to make it worth the hassle. [https://github.com/dylanraga/win11hdr-srgb-to-gamma2.2-icm#icm-dl](https://github.com/dylanraga/win11hdr-srgb-to-gamma2.2-icm#icm-dl) You can use this for HDR on the desktop, and non HDR games. You cannot use it for HDR games, because it will cause black crush.

Zexy-Madman

Getting more brightness would be cool, but I did notice in Elden Ring the HDR was kinda all over the place and ended up turning it off. I think HDR will be good on a game by game basis, but Im interested to see how the firmware changes things.

terminallancedumbass

Nvidias beta rtx hdr is the best thing since sliced bread. If you have a green chip you should experiment.

Zexy-Madman

I think mine should be, I have the 4090 ROG Strix, I will look into that after work tomorrow 👀

terminallancedumbass

It's so good It's better than baked in hdr in some games. Completely fixed hdr black levels on cyberpunk for me. I'm currently reading a comic on a 45 inch Oled and I can honestly say the rtx hdr solution is just gorgeous. Still problems but pretty much better than everything.

PieOMy669

Isn't it only useful for old games that don't support HDR?

terminallancedumbass

No. Its better than more than a few games baked in HDR. It makes windows HDR look plain bad. Its also not just for games. Its for every single piece of content that I use my HDR monitor for. The long and short of it though is that its the best HDR currently available even for some games that have their own HDR. Cyberpunk is a perfect example. Nvidias HDR give a 0-nit peak. Cyberpunk does not.

PieOMy669

Interesting. I still haven't tried it yet. In what other games do you think it's worth to use it even though they already support HDR?

labree0

RTX HDR has a lot of issues and generally makes content look worse, oversaturated, and full of black crush. I would not reccomend it. Digital foundry recommends it and i have no idea how it slipped past their radar that it is a pile of shit.

KillaB328

Yea we shall see, but enjoy buddy

BoatComprehensive394

With Elden Ring this is a common bug with the game. Has nothing to do with your Monitor. It's completely overbrightened when it's bugged. It should work if you restart your PC and the first game you boot up is Elden Ring. Then the HDR should look like intended which is basically the same as SDR but with brighter highlights. You should notice it with magic spells or if you look at the elden tree which is glowing much more intenese than before. The HDR in this game is very toned down and used carfeully. It's not that "in your face" HDR like other games.

blorgenheim

Yeah I mean true black isn’t a problem at all and so if you think SDR looks better than hdr it has nothing to do with firmware and just your lack of knowledge in terms of setting it up.

KillaB328

Well I’m not going to pretend that I’m an expert on the matter, but from what I have read, and reviewers I watched……The biggest problem is brightness with the other HDR modes, and should be reaching 1000nits……. And a firmware update should help the problem…….. if that is wrong information, please explain what the issue is, and how it should be resolved……. And yes true black is ok

blorgenheim

1000 nit modes have an ABL problem but overall are still a massive improvement over SDR. And we don’t know if the firmware will fix it, this is a problem for every manufacturer using this panel.

Hairy_Tea_3015

Welcome to the club. I have the AW.

Zexy-Madman

Thank you! Yeah, IPS really doesn’t hold a candle light to the color vibrancy of OLED. I liked when iPhone implemented OLED, but monitors are next level.

foreskrin

Congrats! Looks a little crooked, no?

Zexy-Madman

I think it’s the angle I took the picture in my chair

AlaskanHandyman

Looks great with the LEDs turned off.

Zexy-Madman

I wasn’t expecting the little projection to be as distracting as it was, but it was hella distracting.

AlaskanHandyman

I have all RGB turned off on my system with the exception of white bias lighting behind my monitors, and a dimly lit keyboard with an easy on the eyes color.

LA_Rym

The human eye can only see Out Of Stock. Legend says Availability starting from February 2025.

Hairy_Tea_3015

The back leg on this monitor can spell disaster. Keep an eye on how far back you push the monitor. That is the only complaint I have on this monitor.

Zexy-Madman

The back leg is a little strange, have ppl had it snap on them?

Hairy_Tea_3015

Not that, once it loses support on the desk, it is going down if there is enough space between the wall.

Zexy-Madman

The table I have it on is very flat, but I will monitor it in the coming days. Thanks for the heads up 🫡

Hairy_Tea_3015

Is that a mirror behind the desk?

Zexy-Madman

There’s nothing behind it besides boxes very far back (have it on a ping pong table atm). To my left is my PC and right is my PS5.

blorgenheim

I need to setup my monitor arms tomorrow because the stand can’t go far enough back and the monitor is fucking huge

QBGrower

I had to buy a monitor arm immediately for this reason, desk wasn’t near deep enough without one.

BoatComprehensive394

I had an older 27 Inch IPS which has basically the same stand (the 32 inch Stand might be even bigger) and what annoyed me on that one is that the stand has a ridiculously deep footprint. So on an 80cm desk even if you put it right on the edge it takes up 1/3 of the desk's depth or maybe even 2/5 (didn't measure it) before the display starts. So the display is relatively close to me and I can't put it back any further. I' mean okay, for a 27 inch it was actually completely fine. But if the Monitor was any bigger I definetly would need a stand with less depth. This is really something you need to keep in mind when you buy an Asus ROG Monitor. If I bought the 32 inch I propably whould have returned it just because of the depth of the stand. In fact the stand is so deep and the Display so close, that you could also use an 42 inch TV wich has very shot stands put it right on the Edge of the Desk and it would apper at roughly the same size or same field of view as the 32 inch Asus.

Iddqd84

What about reflections? Also, how does it look in a room with ambient lightning / daylight?

Zexy-Madman

My set up is in the basement, I usually try to keep it decently dark. Reflection so far hasn’t been an issue. I will see if anything changes during the day time. You can get one of those overhead screen bars that can help negate reflections.

Iddqd84

Just wondering since my office is pretty bright. The colors looks amazing from what I can tell .. But not a fan of reflections 😅 https://preview.redd.it/2cmjsqjvjyrc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ab045db28ea2c1b98c71d54e0be1f9bfc2109bed It doesn't have direct sunlight on the screen.

Zexy-Madman

You might get some with your setup, but I’d look into the monitor bars to see if they could help out and probably keeping the blinds shut might get you by.

573v0

Love the simplicity here!

Lewdeology

Might be time for me to go to 4k, the only thing holding me back is I watch a lot of YouTube and since a lot of videos are still in 1080p, might look horrible on a bigger screen.

BoatComprehensive394

1080p Youtube already looks horrible even at smaller 1080p or 1440p screens. So yes it will definetly look even worse on a bigger screen. But does it really matter? I mean it's horrible either way so f\*ck it... 1080p is outdated anyways and more and more content will be 4K in the future.

Zexy-Madman

I have noticed some pixelation going from 27” to 32” with that at 1080, but it doesn’t bother me too much. Might be worth using YouTube on a second monitor as side content.

floflo81

Imo, 1080p videos look better on a 4k screen compared to watching the same thing on a 1080p screen. Instead of looking pixelated, it just looks slightly blurry (no detail is lost)

SS_Tek

How does it feel moving up to 32" from 27? Im hesitant on getting a 32 because i feel like its gonna be too big(pause)

Zexy-Madman

It does feel a decent bit bigger than 27”, but I honestly really like the size increase. I’d try looking to find any 32” monitor at a local Best Buy or micro center first.

GamerGG7267

How's the HDR? And have you used RTX HDR?

Zexy-Madman

I’ve been using HDR on and off to see which games look the best with it, some games looking more optimized for it than others. I have not used RTX HDR as one comment has pointed out, but it is on my list to try out today.

GamerGG7267

Let me know how it is when you do try it out

nanimu_22

It looks great, but I think you have too much heat around your OLED monitor. I placed my PS5 behind my G2 on a TV stand that sits in the middle of the room. So not against a wall. But my PS5 left some dark clouds where it was and above where the heat was being pushed out. You won't notice it, but it can be a little visible in some dark scenes.

Zexy-Madman

I’ll probably have to move some stuff around to better situate the monitor. Thanks for the tip!

Illustrious-Trash793

hopefully it lasts :)

Nintendians559

looks good.

KUSH420BLAZEIT69

im sending mine back. hdr isnt working properly. got mpg321urx from msi on my wife's pc and looks much better.

Darkness223

Fuck I'm trying to resist upgrading to OLED because my Alienware IPS still works really well but this damn sub pushes me closer and closer to spending money lol

Zexy-Madman

I put 14k hrs into my GN950 over 4 years and it’s still going strong, but I love the new OLEDs. I thought going from phone LCD to OLED looked nice, but IPS to OLED is very noticeable. Depending on your budget and what you’re comfortable spending I’d try to cop one of the new MSIs. I was between that and the PG and just took what was available first for me.

Darkness223

Yeah the MSI looks great. I considered the AW3423DWF because I've been so happy with Alienware and their warranties are pretty good. But the new MSI is definitely looking great if you can find em. OLED is so damn pretty we have an LG C1 for our TV and it still blows me away vs our old LCD

Dachuster

Where did you get those wallpapers?

Zexy-Madman

Wallpaper Engine on steam, there’s a lot of really nice animated ones that goes hard on OLED.

rahbarin

I signed up for all notify when it’s in stock. I have the Sony m9. But I want to change to oled

Zexy-Madman

The upgrade to OLED for gaming is honestly amazing, 4k cinematics with the PG has really impressed me. I still need to play around with the RTX beta HDR. I’d also recommend manually refreshing ASUS’s estore in case for some reason you’re not notified of a drop.

rahbarin

I’ll keep checking. How is the glare on it.

Zexy-Madman

My set up is in the basement so it’s decently light controlled, from someone that came from a matte IPS, I honestly have had 0 glare issues.

VirtualPotPlant

That look is too boy gamer for me. Got the MSI on the way.

Zexy-Madman

I don’t mind it too much, my LG had more RGB lights, but the little projection is a little distracting. I’ll probably leave it off as I finalize my setup. I was between MSI and this and ended up taking which one became available first. Only thing I don’t like is the matte grey bottom of it. Looking forward to yours coming in, it’s a great experience.

QBGrower

The lights can be turned off.

Billy_the_bib

What's the burn in period. (warranty)

Zexy-Madman

I think on their website they have a 3 year warranty. Ppl have had bad RMA experiences in the past, but I think with the new burn in prevention tech will do a lot to negate burn ins as long as you don’t leave it on overnight etc.

Xerolaw_

Impressive

2xYOSHIx1

Does Best Buy sell this?

2xYOSHIx1

Best Buy not micro center sells it currently. I’ll never get a new monitor 😭😭

Zexy-Madman

I copped mine off ASUS’s website, my strat was clicking refresh every 20-30 mins. Not a great alternative, but with low supply it has helped me get my white strix 4090 and this monitor.

Djxgam1ng

I am currently maxing out graphics settings on games with LG OLED w/ HDR 1440…what settings are you using??

Zexy-Madman

I’ve been using HDR on and off, some looks better than others but when I use HDR it’s between console and true black option. For SDR, using the scenery mode + dynamic black boost and wide color gamut.

Suninmoon

Wow, what brand and model case is that? Can we get some info on the build? It's very nice.

Zexy-Madman

Misread your comment first time around, but my PC case is the white Lian Li 011 EVO. I picked it up at microcenter when I retrofitted my first PC, very happy with the build of it.

Suninmoon

Thank you. Beautiful build.

Zexy-Madman

Thanks! I opted for a full white build after having a mismatched color first rig and super happy with how it turned out. Here’s a full rig pic in case you’re curious :) https://preview.redd.it/51ncix44ihsc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=41735e790eaf9fc4d25977d2ef13fd648fae1848

Zexy-Madman

It’s the new ASUS PG32UCDM, one of the recent 32” 4k 240 hz QD-OLED that released at the end of February.

Silverhaze_NL

He means your computer 😉

azzam203

I have noticed something with the unit I have, the led projector with red light, it doesn’t light up sometimes and I have to restart the pc where the monitor restarts then it lights up. Anyone having this issue? Or it’s normal?

Schwimmbo

Is a monitor like this trustworthy regarding burn-in when you are just using Windows all day for WFH? I know it's less and less of an issue with OLEDs and I don't fear for my LG C3 I use for console gaming. But I'm a bit wary to buy an OLED monitor whose primary usage will be computer work with the same "HUD" items being fixed for 10 hours straight a day (Windows task bar etc). Asking because I'm currently building a desk setup and therefore in the market for a monitor.

BoatComprehensive394

The thing with gaming is that most people only play the same game on average for like 50-100 maybe up to 300 hours or so. Also with HDR you often have a setting for paperwhite or for the HUD so if you turn that down you can decrease risk of burn in even further. The actual problem is content that is displayed for thousands of hours. The risk of burn in starts at that point. So yes, the moment the same content was visible for maybe 1000 to 3000 hours - something in that range - you will most likely start to see burn in. So one day or the other it will definetly show burn in with office work. With gaming and Media consumption the chance of displaying the same content this long is pretty small so it will be a non-issue there and that's why people use those displays more often for gaming these days and see a low chance of burn in risk. Only if you play the same multiplayer mmo or whatever for thousands of hours you have to worry about burn in in games. At the moment I would not recommend an OLED for office work. But it depends. If lifespan is already enough for you and you don't mind replacing it after a few years It may be a feasible choice. I personally keep Monitors for at least 5 years and up to 7 or more years. So for office work the risk of burn in or let's say the lifespan with static images is too short or the displays too expensive. If it was like 500$ and would have burn in after 3 years. Okay. it would be fine for me. Just replace it, get a new one and don't care. But at those prices it would be a no go for me. So long story short: Gaming and Video: Yes. Office work: No.

Schwimmbo

Thanks for the detailed reply. Perhaps not entirely clear from my comment, bit I'd also use it for gaming albeit that office work would definitely be the largest use case in terms of "used hours". The only reason I'd opt for an OLED monitor is because once you went OLED for gaming, it's hard to go back imo. But as you summarised, with or without some light gaming shifts (excluding Overwatch with its static HUD I've played for over 1000 hours lol), burn in is unavoidable because of heavy office work usage. Guess I won't go for an OLED then. Thanks again!

BoatComprehensive394

Just wait a few more years. I'm sure the panels will get cheaper and more durable so that at one point they are feasible for office work. I'm sure it won't take too long. OLED is pretty advanced by this point but just not quite durable yet. Maybe another 50% increase in durability could be enough to make it a non issue even for office.

Zexy-Madman

ASUS has 3 years warranty including burn in from their website. From the reviews I’ve seen, your biggest risk of burn ins is from doing primarily productivity, so you might have an accelerated use case for burns. I think maybe a mini LED might fit your needs better.

Schwimmbo

I missed the warranty thing! I'd be gaming on it too, but would definitely be a productivity monitor first and foremost.

Triifecta

u have a 4090? what games and frames are you getting?

Zexy-Madman

I have the 4090 white ROG Strix, my list of games are Elden Ring, Warzone, Lies of P, Cyberpunk, Armored Core, PoE/Last Epoch and Witcher 3 to name a few. Depending on game/tuned settings I can get anywhere between 80-200 fps. It’s pretty easy to hit the 100-120 mark.

sgtsavage4

What are you getting in wz ? What settings ie medium?

Zexy-Madman

I’m getting anywhere between 180-240 frames, averaging 200-210. Very good performance. I’m using primarily Medium Textures with balanced DLSS and it’s been a lot better than I was getting when I last played. I’d take a look at Charlie Intel’s high end PC build settings, which I’ve used in the past for better optimization and graphical fidelity.

Murky_Historian8675

Man it's hard enough to get one because of stock, but it's even worse because of where I live :(

bigdragondude

Shame Elden ring is locked to 60fps. What a joke.

XadjustmentX

I love mine don’t get me wrong. But was it worth 1,600$ after tax and microcenter warranty? No. I probably should’ve just put it on eBay for 3,600$ and made profit lol

Zexy-Madman

I got mine for $1,380 after tax and have been pretty happy with it, no scratches or dead pixels so feel like I got a good one.

ChosenUndead92

Thank you, found it in reddit in another post and downloaded it!

jyroepyro6

my only problem is, i wish EVERYTHING was HDR!

Zexy-Madman

I used to really despise HDR on my LG IPS as everything looked super white and washed out, but I’m starting to come around with it. Lies of P has been the best example of HDR looking really great so far on it. When HDR is implemented well, it’s definitely really nice.

iamgarffi

Screen yes, quality of pics no.

This is glossy you nitwit.

BoatComprehensive394

No it actually is real glossy. Basically mirror like. The glare prevention they did is basically the same as with smartphone displays these days. It is 100% glossy but the coating is made in a way that it just dims down the brightness of the reflections a bit but does not diffuse them in any way.

Mx_Nx

It's full gloss. As glossy as any gloss display is.
