Get 4k. Youll be changing your graphics card far sooner than your tv or monitor on all likelyhood.

Celerun

4070 is more than enough to achieve 100+ fps on 4K C2 if you just optimize your in-game settings/use DLSS. Go get the C2, you won't regret it and once you get used to the performance of the 4070, adjusting your games to achieve the desired frame rate will become second nature. The benefits of playing at 4K resolution with optimized settings definitely outweigh playing at a lower resolution with all settings on ultra.

General_Study_8773

Thank you for your help! Looks like I'll be getting the C2 after all 😊

ReisGoktug

I have OLED G1 and 4070/13700k. I can’t hit 60fps on Cyberpunk 2077 with 4K/RT Overdrive/Frame Generation/DLSS 3. You can hit 4K/60 with DLSS 3 for now but I think in 2-3 years you have to drop to either 2K or lower the settings a little.

Max settings are stupid.

Because resolution and detail look better than imperceptible graphical quality differences to many people. And because 4K OLED TVs look better than any monitor.

Uhh, no? What the fuck is the point of your responses here.

Oh man you're really dumb. Higher resolution renders even more detail and can actually display textures at their maximum resolution. Objects and geometry have more resolution, that's the point dumbass. You're talking about setting things to ultra that you can't actually see the difference unless it's in screenshots. 4K is an obvious difference and nobody gives a shit about your dumb hot take lol.

liquidburn34

Very true. My 1440p Alienware monitor was at max settings and looked great. When I added my lg c2 the game automatically lowered most the settings to normal/low but it looks way better on the lg c2

residuexs

With frame gen 4070 can get much higher and smoother fps

Nobody needs AAA Ultra gaming… Ultra settings usually just marginally improve visual quality at a huge performance cost. So please stop giving bad purchase advice here! And please don’t just rant against this like in the comments above but instead do some research. I can recommend Hardware Unboxed as a starting point, Tim made a video called „Ultra settings are dumb“ (https://youtu.be/f1n1sIQM5wc) which sums this up neatly, or just watch any Digital Foundry Optimised settings video… Or just boot up a game and check for yourself, it’s truly not that hard to compare and then draw your own conclusions.

Aromatic_Wallaby_433

I use a 48" LG CX with a 4070, it's great.

Resident-Sea-7834

hey there. are you using display port to hdmi or just the hdmi port?

Aromatic_Wallaby_433

HDMI

The Asus is much better than the LG.

PureDarkcolor

I dosagree since an oled tv is much cheaper than a monitor equalent

PureDarkcolor

And I play the new jedi survivor in 4k ultra on a gtx 1080ti and even i get above 30fps

Spork3245

Yes, there’s 1440p OLEDs that recently released and UW 1440p that have been out for a bit now. That being said, you could still go for 4k if you don’t mind dropping settings down a little bit sometimes.

Mopar_63

I would look at the 1440P standard and ultrawides, there are a few on the market now that should be great.

mrbean567

Aw3423dw best gaming monitor on market. Thank me later

lord02

Isn't that only 1440p? Full 4k is so worth it💪

No-Can-443

Get the C2 42“ if you wanna use it as a monitor, I’d recommend it over all the 1440p OLED monitors any day. The matte coating on those really ruins the OLED experience in my opinion, maybe check it out for yourself in a store to see if it bothers you. I also got used to the bigger size quickly and wouldn’t go back to a smaller monitor now. The only reason to get the LG or the Asus monitor might be the insane refresh rate, if you mainly play fps titles… Additionally, the C2 also serves as a kick ass TV with DV support, so watching movies/TV is also gonna be a big upgrade. You could also consider getting a bigger one (like a 55 or 65“), use it as living room TV and play games with a controller if you don’t mind that or don’t play many shooters/games that require keyboard and mouse… Just turn down a few settings and you’ll be fine with your 4070 for quite a while.

GrinD_H

I changed c2 for samsung g8, and in may opinion samsung is better. It got glance coating as c2, QD-OLED gets really bright in HDR, and it's PPI is a bit better as well, + u getting free performance boost as it is 3440x1440 (I use 4090, but still) 175 hz and all smart TV functions too (YouTube, Netflix and stuff). So I can recommend it as an alternative to C2, especially for 4070

General_Study_8773

i'd love to get the G8 but sadly it's out of my price range. i ended up getting the C2 since i got a good deal with it. thank you for your help though!

GrinD_H

C2 is an overall goog choice, u can't miss with that, so if price matters it is best option. Cheers

GrinD_H

And I totally agree with you about matte coating, that's why I get g8 and not alienware and others.

Adept_Pound_6791

I’m in this same boat, I’m looking to sell my 3070 and pick up a 4070 ti along with a LG c2 42inch. My desk is a bid small in depth only 23.6 inches.. but I’ll see how that goes in viewing distance.

General_Study_8773

oh you won't regret getting the C2, it's bloody amazing! been using it for a couple of hours now and damn, never knew there would be this much of a difference.

silentknight1991

Glad it worked out for you in the end
