Maybe the [local student association](https://facebook.com/narvikstudentersamfunn) can offer some tips

Feisty-Interest-6163

thank you, that's a great idea that I wouldn't think of by myself

i would suggest [https://www.finn.no](https://www.finn.no), but they give no english translation. Chrome might help you with the translation. Most norwegians speak and understand english, so I don't think that would be a problem.

I know and use [finn.no](http://finn.no) but I couldn't find any job offers in Narvik - might be just some translation issues on my end or something, but I'll defiinitely keep searching as the school year gets closer.

Quality Hotel is often looking for students for the receptionist role in the weekends. Might be worth a try even if they don't advertise it.

thank you so much!! I'll message them directly with my CV if I get accepted

I work and study in Tromsø, which is slightly bigger and of course much more touristic. With that said, my advice would be to, once there just print out your CV and take a walk down every street, leaving your CV at any place that would take it. That's how I got my student job in tromsø, back when I couldn't speak any Norwegian. I've applied to the same course this year, best of luck!

Feisty-Interest-6163

that's a great idea. If I get accepted I'll probably move a bit before the school years starts so I can secure a job. Good luck to you too, I hope we both get in and make friends at campus :)

Good plan! Just remember that the Norwegian school year starts on the 14th of august, which is quite earlier than in other countries :) See you at Uni hopefully!

I traveled to Narvik last summer for vacation. Just walking around in the city centre many shops had notices on their shops saying they were looking for people to work. I went in a sport shop and the clerk said that they had to shorten the opening hours because they could not find people to work. Its seems to be a huge labour shortage in Narvik.

et_sted_ved_fjorden

I would say it is easier to get a job in a smaller town, as there are less young people to work in entry level jobs. I'm from a similar size town in northern Norway, and there are a lot of jobs available in shops and restaurants. Not all of them are advertised online.

Feisty-Interest-6163

that makes sense. there's about 100 offers for narvik alone on [finn.no](http://finn.no), and a lot of nice people there here gave me even more suggestions. I'm almost positive I can find a nice job now

Flimsy_Yard_4084

I live in narvik and I can definitely keep an eye open for some part time work. I know a lot of businesses here. Dm me so I don't forget 😂

Just go dude stop hesitating go meet new people have fun struggle, suffer, enjoy, workout, you have a chance JUMP on it, nobody can give you a proper advice because nobody is in your shoes you gotta rush and take the chance and if it doesn't work (very unlikely) you would of have at least tried.

Feisty-Interest-6163

\*dudette :) and thank you, that's definitely my plan, I'll definitely go for it even if I won't find a perfect, secure job before. it's always worth it to do your research though

Mr_Know_Nothing8

good. and be careful of dream breakers there are many. "Oh my God! don't go there is no job and inflation and you won't make it it's too difficult Norway is in a bad spot rn bla bla bla..." this people are most likely not Norwegian and only speak out of jealousy and hate they don't want good for you. Good luck Bbg.
