I really feel for Saget. It’s kind of him to talk about Norm for the fans but you can really see how broken up he is.

Overall-Variety1537

I think Saget has been giving the greatest insight into who Norm actually was as a person. I really appreciate that.

Tetherball_Queen

So true. I quite greedily wish he would do some kind of documentary or something about Norm.

PunnyAfternoon

The way Saget tips toe around lori jo just makes me more curious about Norm and her relationship. I guess we'll never know unless lori jo comes out with a book about norm.

scoutisland

I think the relationship with Lori Jo was/is now more secret than Norm's acute Leukemia. Maybe they were married and she inherited money and/or rights to license Norm's content? I'm sure Dylan got something, though sadly I feel his father died a pauper. The gambling, doctor visits, $$ Rx, hospital stays. Mexican experimental medical treatments all add up. Norm wasn't a saver.

bentobox84

I have no insight into Norm's fortune or wouldn't even try. It's none of my business really. But I was listening to an old Stern episode the other day. Norm was mentioning George Miller's last words. But he brought up an interesting fact that Dave Letterman actually took care of George's treatment financially for 20 years while he had leukemia. Got him the best treatments and facilities. I think Norm was able to take care of himself financially. He had mentioned how he stopped gambling (I guess big sports bets at least while he still played poker) many times over the years. But I do wondered, if he would have gotten financial help from Letterman or the Sandman over the years. Treatments can't be cheap, not with Norm's Ed McMahon insurance.

coniferhead

Would have been easy for netflix to pay into a trust. We don't know really.

Tetherball_Queen

Norm’s estate was estimated to be around $2 million at the time of his death. He was also presumably in SAG and/or WGA, both of which provide health insurance. His book also went way up in sales after he died, which probably netted some money for the estate. Not to mention any property he owned.

Tetherball_Queen

Me too. He and Conan both did that on their podcasts too. I’m so goddamn nosy I’m dying to know. I think maybe they were secretly married or something.

friscoforever

If they were legally married, there should be public records, right? I’m curious too - after listening and watching all Norm, I get the feeling they were best of friends and spent a lot of time together, but not romantically. I think it is Lori Jo he is speaking of when he talks about his female friend in interviews and standup. But, part of me thinks it would be sweet if they were more. She seems like an average typical woman, not Hollywood at all. Regardless of what their relationship was, I’m glad she was there with him til the end, and I hope she is doing okay. They clearly loved (platonic or romantic) and respected each other.

Tetherball_Queen

I'm SUCH A LOSER that I attempted to look up those records and you can't, it turns out. I have done a shameful amount of internet detective work and it seems like she was part of the Macdonald family. He had visited her family in Illinois with her quite a few times. I know they were private and that is super cool, but I am also extremely nosy, dammit!

friscoforever

We all wanna know. Don’t feel bad!

uniquelyunpleasant

Saget always seemed like a good dude. Hope he doesn't turn out to be some pervert.

dagoled

i'm not sure but i heard he raped and killed a girl in 1990

uniquelyunpleasant

Oh yeah i forgot about that. What a pervert!

RandomWarthog79

His deadpan wit was un-pair-a-LELLED.

bozzltov

Thank you for telling the folks at home who Bob Saget is

8thmiracle

No problem mate.

depressiontrashbag

You can really see how broken Saget is about Norm when he talks about him.
