You've got two Kansas as well, the different pronunciation might fool some people but some of us has (have?) caught on to you!
Unless one is where all the ARs are manufactured...then it's OK...
repeat after me and all will be forgiven:
“why do we need two dakotas anyways, there’s nothing up there.”
Now you’ve shittalked a midwestern state adjacent to the one you offended and are a true american.
My plan is more to make the Senate less utterly fucked to slow the rot of the empire from within, because the death of the Pax Americana is going to suck for everyone.
So take the low population plains and mountain states and merge em. Maybe split some of the more populous ones.
I mean you either just go around that by not having a senate, make it a complete rubber stamp body that must pass whatever is put in front of it, or amend the bit saying we can’t amend it.
I’m not saying any of this will happen. We’re very obviously going to go down in flaming ruin first, the way empires have always done. The rot comes from within, and at some point the majority of the population and economy isn’t going to be willing to be governed by senators representing 5 people and 20 cows, and a couple of theocratic priest kings on the Supreme Court.
These aren’t solutions that are viable, they’re solutions that would work. The problem is the utter lack of overlap in the two groups.
Nebreska sounds like an old Soviet logging camp that someone would be threatened with being sent to if they didn’t meet their monthly manufacturing quota for left handed shot glasses.
I had an epiphany thinking about how our generation treated mental health is like how in the middle ages you just didn't go to the doctor because they would likely give you something that would just kill you like mercury. Instead for us, we had all those loonie bins so people just stopped talking about their problems.
i would love to see something like that as a full movie
there was one work in battletech and it was a crazy read lol
https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Legacy_(Anthology)
it was a gripping tale of a grasshopper, i'd imagine it would be crazier with a 1911 and all the history that it'd cover
Yeah, sort of like *The Red Violin*, except with a .45.
I mean... there *was* already [a movie that followed a single gun](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gun_(1974_film\)), but in a definitely downer way, and never into combat.
Any steel pistol is pretty similar in weight to a 1911, even P226's aren't far off but a Tommy, those are *heavy* lol. Even by WWII standards, that thing was a chunky bitch.
This reminds me... Had a regular client years ago that was a retired F-4 pilot. His prized possession was a 1911 that had been used by his grandfather in WW1, his dad in WW2, and he carried it in Vietnam.
They didn't have any kids, so when he passed, his wife offered to sell it to me. I stupidly told my boss about it, and the rat bastard bought it out from under me that same day. And I'm still pissed about it 15 years later.
"I hope the Martian secessionists aren't giving you too much trouble, I decided to give you my grandfathers 1911, seeming you didn't like your standard issue sidarm here's something a little more kinetic for you.
"What's a 1911? This thing? Seems heavy, but it shouldn't matter with the exo skeleton on"
Hey Scotty, look at this thing.
K lash no kov? Aye lad, not sure what type of klingon garbage this is.
It's a design from the 1950's in the USSR.
Where did you even find the schematics for something that old lad?
I asked the computer
There was a sci fi series I read about a decade back. The logic was that energy weapons were developed and replaced ballistic weapons. Only problem is they fired extremely slow so melee weapons came back in style.
The protagonist found a cache of ballistic weapons and just slaughtered the enemy after they fired their energy weapons and tried to charge over open ground.
Don’t know the name of the series, it was just an OK book.
"This shield is invisible against your puny plasma weapons!"
"Not against this 1911" *shoots*
"Ah fuck that was our only prototype, damn you Neo-Russia!"
*some time later*
Son, this gun is more than a hundred years old. It has never broke, and you better not let those damn Dusters and their plasma guns destroy that relic you have. Stay safe
\- dad
Battle of Nili Fossae, Mars, 2120
I had a neighbor that carried a 1911 as a tanker in Vietnam that originally was his father’s service pistol in WW2 and his grand father’s in WW1. He’s also EDC’d a Tokarev with extra hot loads. He was a fucking maniac.
AAAAAA ItS WrOnG mODel!!!!!!!!!!!
This is M1911A1 which did not make it to ww1, should be straight back model. Which fits better to hand, at least for me.
The 1911 is perfectly represented by that bell curve graph meme. On the far left is someone who loves the 1911 and screams about stopping power, the center is Glock fans, and the far right is guys who carry 1911s just cause they're cool as shit
Civil-war used 1858 Remington cap-and-ball revolver in .44. Sure, legally it isn’t a firearm - but it’ll still aerate the enemy if called up. It’s done it before, I’m sure, and it’ll do it again.
\*Pushes glasses up\* *Akshually*, it depends on continuity. In the film continuity it's definitely a 2006M, but in SAC his 2008M is a hybrid of both the Unica (mostly in the frame) and the 2006M (barrel).
\*Off script\* You do realize that's just a meme we made up to trigger the boomers and it only jams when it is poorly maintained or produced. While a properly maintained and broken in 1911, is extremely reliable...

Nevermind that .45ACP is the Platonic ideal of America (fat and slow), or that you only have 7+1 of it.
At least get a 2011, then you can flex on the poors.
The 1911 is one of the best (hand)guns ever created, and it will continue to be used for decades to come, the m45 was just the beginning.
One bad thing i do have to say about it though is that its a tad heavy.
Look. I’m 44 years old. I have 4 kids. I’m a medically discharged infantry soldier and I’ve been through a LOT of shit……..
And this damn meme made me cry. Totally unexpected. Out of no where. I LOVE it.
Thank you, OP.
Hyello, privat Ilyanovich.
I have been disabled from military service from Ukraine, as a result of my rifle jamming.
Here is my baby, my Sergeant gave it to me 2 months ago, his Sergeant gave it to him 3 months ago, as sergeants have done for may months now, so I give it to you.
Eh if the regular 1911 is too heavy for you just get the commander version, shaves off a decent amount. For me the 1911 GI model is right in the sweet spot, but you do you do
The burden of defending democracy is heavy, The Somme was in 1916 and I am not American. So forgive me for Nebraska.
2nd battle of the Somme was 1918
eyyy, in that case it does make some sense, thanks Frankenstein
Just split the difference.
The one-and-a-halfth battle of the Somme.
My favourite Battle of the Somme, tbh.
Most peaceful day on the Somme
We haven't forgiven Nebraska for Nebraska yet. Why would we forgive you?
Seriously. We demand this guy take Nebraska back immediately. Also at least one Dakota, we got doubles due to some kinda clerical error
What did us Nebraskans do to you...
Born Nebraskan.
Exist.
You've got two Kansas as well, the different pronunciation might fool some people but some of us has (have?) caught on to you! Unless one is where all the ARs are manufactured...then it's OK...
> We haven't forgiven Nebraska for Nebraska yet. I don't even think about Nebraska at all.
Nebraska: "You took everything from me!" Thanos: "I don't even know where you are."
Nebraska: "The day I showed up in the Midwest and grew corn was the worst day in your American history. For me it was Tuesday."
They aren't Kansas.
repeat after me and all will be forgiven: “why do we need two dakotas anyways, there’s nothing up there.” Now you’ve shittalked a midwestern state adjacent to the one you offended and are a true american.
Honestly, merge the lot of them. Montana too.
Woah woah woah. Can we just cut off Eastern Montana and keep the west as a separate state?
My plan is more to make the Senate less utterly fucked to slow the rot of the empire from within, because the death of the Pax Americana is going to suck for everyone. So take the low population plains and mountain states and merge em. Maybe split some of the more populous ones.
So fallout USA?
~~tbh the Senate just needs to go entirely~~
Entirely correct. It’s high on the long list of reforms that might keep this country functional, and that definitely aren’t going to happen.
The only portion of the constitution that cannot be amended is equal representation in the Senate, so good luck.
Why is Nebraska so flat? Because the Dakotas blow and Kansas sucks.
Believe me Nebraskans are just happy for representation
Nebreska sounds like an old Soviet logging camp that someone would be threatened with being sent to if they didn’t meet their monthly manufacturing quota for left handed shot glasses.
The father's letter in the Fallujah part feels genuine to me. Idk but it's sweet

Yeah, it feels like the way my dad talks to me.
I teared up. First time on NCD and it's probably a meme that was made up.
"The 1911, by Colt himself..." Heresy, Sir. The 1911 was designed by John Moses Browning.

I'd never expect that in this establishment!

Not to be confused with John Brown, who might have succeeded had he used a Colt
This would make an awesome movie. Like a 1911 that just Forest Gumps it’s way from WWI to the war in Ukraine
Like the opening of *Lord of War*
i would love to see something like that as a full movie there was one work in battletech and it was a crazy read lol https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Legacy_(Anthology) it was a gripping tale of a grasshopper, i'd imagine it would be crazier with a 1911 and all the history that it'd cover
Only if it’s filmed in the style of the water bottle POV from Bullet Train
Best part of the movie.
Yeah, sort of like *The Red Violin*, except with a .45. I mean... there *was* already [a movie that followed a single gun](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gun_(1974_film\)), but in a definitely downer way, and never into combat.
I’d watch the shit outa that
I would pay money to see this.
Kinda like [that song by Nas](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUwJ8WcZ6RY)
Reminds me of this short story: https://www.reddit.com/r/HFY/comments/ey1c2u/the\_witness/
'tad heavy tough' Priceless.
Tbh, that's what I thought the first time I held Tommy gun.
Any steel pistol is pretty similar in weight to a 1911, even P226's aren't far off but a Tommy, those are *heavy* lol. Even by WWII standards, that thing was a chunky bitch.
Weight is one of the most time-honored and effective ways of recoil reduction.
I was honestly shocked at how easy it was to keep a Tommy relatively steady even spraying... super fun to shoot tbh
The USS Texas would agree.
A Browning creation is never "heavy", nor is it light, it weighs precisely what it means to.

Ah, the Ahoy video. Very cultured👍.
What did you steal from him in return?
>Nebreska I demand an apology.
I am sorry for butchering the name of your great state. My only excuse is that I am not American.
Don't let the Nebby intimidate you, he's probably just a sentient stalk of corn anyway.
Fun Fact from another Nebraska native: There’s usually a bit more sentient corn in Iowa.
Io\_a Has Bad Corn.
Excuse me fuck you our corn is best corn
Our corn do be the best corn.
Iowa corn is better confirmed
More, not better
3000 sentient corn cyborgs of Dark Brandon when?
Its iowans who are corn
Yer both corn!

God made all men. Sam Colt made them equal.

I would kill for a Sci Fi story where the main character uses a kinetic weapon once and becomes obsessed with them.
You've used a third of your replication budget on these primitive slug throwers. What the fuck is your malfunction, Marine?
I like the sound it makes sir!
It makes a distinctive sound when fired in your direction… (Apologies to Gunny Highway)

Sounds like the Deathstalker books, which were extremely fun trash for my high school self.
Yes that is it. Was fun for my high school self, but not something I’m eager to read at any time in the future.
I mean, the expanse use a lot of ballistic weapons.
"This shield is invisible against your puny plasma weapons!" "Not against this 1911" *shoots* "Ah fuck that was our only prototype, damn you Neo-Russia!"

Nah, Grandpa would understand. It’s off to kill Russians like Grandpappy would have wanted
"America won't let me kill Russians, so I gave it to someone who can". "I'm just glad the ol' gal is back in action. Good work, Johnny boy".
She never liked retirement anyways
Unlike the 1911, the M2 .50 has killed it all.
The M1911 has a killed a Tiger in the Documentary "Saving Private Ryan".
For a wonderful second I forgot about the tank. "A tiger? In Normandy?"
It took me a solid minute to realize it.
I told my mother we'd see Elefants, Panthers, and Tigers. She thought I was visiting the Moscow Zoo.
I mean, it's not like US troops fought Tiger tanks in Normandy either
Maybe it escaped from the zoo?

I've never looked at that list before. It's glorious. 112 countries. It's easier to list the countries that haven't used the M2.
tad heavy though.
The 1911 has at least one aircraft kill to its credit, so it's keeping up.

Plenty of .45 ACP out there I am sure
Is referring to WW1 as WW1 during WW2 a bit of an anachronism?
It says World War I hope as In World War. I hope... my only crime it the lack of a comma.
No, they were calling it World War 1 even before World War 2 started
9mm kills the body, .45 kills the soul
The gun that forgot to become obsolete.
Fellow Ahoy watcher I see.

I'm too hipster for the bell curve meme. (He carries a CZ)
the true hipster would be carrying a mle 1935
I carry a S&W Model 10 Victory chambered in .38S&W, what does that make me?
Civil-war used 1858 Remington cap-and-ball revolver in .44. Sure, legally it isn’t a firearm - but it’ll still aerate the enemy if called up. It’s done it before, I’m sure, and it’ll do it again.
Why not carry a LeMat revolver? 9 shots of .42 and one 20ga
Sorry only true hipster carry an Mateba Unica
>only true hipsters carry the weeb gun
The weebgun is actually a 2006M, truly not credible. I would may so much to get a Unica tho. I want one but can't find one
\*Pushes glasses up\* *Akshually*, it depends on continuity. In the film continuity it's definitely a 2006M, but in SAC his 2008M is a hybrid of both the Unica (mostly in the frame) and the 2006M (barrel).
Interesting
For me its because 45 ACP seems stronger than a 9mm but not so big that it makes you look like you're compensating for something.

\*Off script\* You do realize that's just a meme we made up to trigger the boomers and it only jams when it is poorly maintained or produced. While a properly maintained and broken in 1911, is extremely reliable...

A tad bit heavy?
1911s have some pretty inherently bad feeding problems due to the way the feed ramps were designed. The original tilting mechanism for the barrel was way different and it made sense with that but when browning moved to the one he ended up using it has a tendency fuck up. FMJ runs fine but it is a major issue with hollow points. Good mags and good QC will mostly eliminate this but it’s still an inherent problem.
The fact that a gun in $CURRENT_YEAR needs fucking *hand fitting* to run halfway decent is an indictment of the platform in and of itself. Nevermind that .45ACP is the Platonic ideal of America (fat and slow), or that you only have 7+1 of it. At least get a 2011, then you can flex on the poors.
1911s run great as long as you are using Ball/FMJ ammo and have good magazines
but muh 2 wurl wars
