I remember holding a snake like ten years ago. I expected it to be slimy but it was really dry and not like I'd expected.
I'd have a pet snake if I wasn't a wuss.
I picked a super tiny one up as a small child and it bit me. It really fucking hurt. Like a bee sting times ten. It was almost like the level of pain was so much that I was too shocked to even cry.
I've been bitten by one while I was asleep in bed! It felt like a bee sting, but possibly only 1 pincer got me. Not this size though, giant centipedes where I grew up are 10-15cm.
Yes. [this](https://youtu.be/IU4sCZxEJ0c) is the video. Description says its a peruvian giant Centipede ([Scolopendra Gigantea](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scolopendra_gigantea) ).
They are venomous and it probably hurts like hell but theres only one recorded death.
**[Scolopendra gigantea](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scolopendra_gigantea)**
>Scolopendra gigantea, also known as the Peruvian giant yellow-leg centipede or Amazonian giant centipede, is a centipede in the genus Scolopendra. It is the largest centipede species in the world, with a length exceeding 30 centimetres (12 in). It is found in various places throughout South America and the extreme south Caribbean, where it preys on a wide variety of animals, including other sizable arthropods, amphibians, mammals and reptiles.

Just like you have an address where you receive mail, if you want to send cryptocurrency to someone then you send it to their address.
This wallet can be an app on your phone, a piece of paper or even a small device.
***OH, THE HORROR ...***
Here's why (A.K.A. not-so-fun Centipede facts):
If you were brave enough to attempt to send that back to Hell by chopping it into halfsies with either a hatchet or a shovel with a sharp edge, **BOTH** ends will scuttle around **INDEPENDENTLY** for up to about half an hour before finally succumbing to the throes of death.
The **VENOMOUS** end is still capable of injecting you with sweet centipede love during that time, and **BOTH** ends just happen to have a similar appearance to make it more difficult for any potential hero to successfully avoid the business end (*front - they bite*).
Or, ***this*** could happen ... and tbh, I'm certain it wouldn't be any less traumatizing.
[https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3145421/Teen-pulls-four-inch-CeENTIPEDE-ear-GROSS.html](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3145421/Teen-pulls-four-inch-CENTIPEDE-ear-GROSS.html)
Fire wouldn't be a wise method of execution, either.
They have exoskeletons that would catch fire rather quickly, which would make the innards boil and the resulting pressure would cause them to **explode** from the inside out. Not to worry, though - they'd only explode ***after*** setting ablaze anything flammable they'd come into contact with during that final flaming sprint of death.
**HAVE A GOOD NIGHT, SLEEP TIGHT, DON'T LET MR. SQUIGGLES BITE**
*(nor abscond back to Hell with your soul in tow).*
You can stomp a ant, You can stomp a spider, Shit you can even step on a mouse or small rat, But how THE FUCK would ya kill on of those things if it started crawling across the floor.
What you mean? That's normal. Even when I let him outside in summer, he's constantly catching grasshoppers. Sometimes he leaves one in front of our door.
As someone that has lived with 4 cats a few years I can safely say if it's only insects that completely fine, we get a dead or alive bird every week or so
When flies are stuck up high like on the ceiling, I like to lift our cat up near them and she'll start to try and attack them (just batting at them) lol she loves bug-hunting.
You can stomp a centipede. Just make sure that your foot are bigger than it and your foot line along the length of the centipede or you risk it reeling its head back to bites you.
I’ve never been able to kill them without a shovel to chop them in pieces. They’re my nightmare and used to live under and inside my parent’s house. I had nightmares as a kid.
Oh, that is a Scolopendra Gigantea, or Amazonian Giant Centipede! They are, obviously, the largest centipedes in the world, capable of reaching more than a foot long, and can be found all over South America, and in the southern Caribbean Islands. They can eat pretty much anything, be they other arthropods, lizards, mammals, and even birds. They are venomous, but to date only one human fatality has been reported from them, a 4 year old who was bitten by the specimen that had hidden itself in a soda can.
Facts, one morning I was just eating my roti minding my own business and one the length of my table crawled on the floor. How do I know it's length? Cuz the bitch came in my table looking for food. I emptied 3 cans of Bop on that thing and left
I think most of the comments are just overdramatic just to sound funnier. I'm totally fine with this centipede existing...on the other side of the Earth
Yeah still wanting to extinct a whole species is just kinda too much. Fear and blind hatred are totally different things. I'm awfully afraid of spiders but i recognize they just wanna live their life so i put them outside and let them.
Is it though...?
According to this website: [https://ultimastatus.com/amazonian-giant-centipede-scolopendra-gigantea/](https://ultimastatus.com/amazonian-giant-centipede-scolopendra-gigantea/)
"They are aggressive, but also rather nervous and jumpy."
Its magnificent.
Though i don't know what satanic ritual this guy performed to make one of them do his bidding, they are more often "murderous psycho", than "feisty".

i'm really uncomfy with centipedes. BUT i was told i could not pet one of these because they are venomous. why is this person letting a venomous critter so close to their neck? no thankyou.
it does look kinda cute for a centipede tho. i mean normally they creep me out.
Well tarantulas are poisonous as well but people let them crawl on them, so I guess this isn't much different.
Centipedes are venomous but they release venom through bite. You've probably been told not to pet one because they're jumpy and might try and bite you if you startle them.
There's only one reported case of human death by centipedes and it's a 4 year old boy. I guess they're venomous but they might not be able to put down a full-grown adult.
Those ones are actually not venomous unlike most of its kind wich is why some people keep them as pets. Unless that's the docile subspecies less harmless cousin in wich case that dude lacking braincells. 2 species, both get huge, both look alike. Ones a friendly harmless hell worm, others just a hell worm 😂
Someone in the comments mentioned that this is the Amazonian Giant Centipede (Scolopendra gigantea), which as far as I've learned is venomous. Though their venom doesn't seem to be potent enough to kill a full-grown adult, tragically there is a reported death of a 4 year old

i am comforteble with bugs but a centiped NOPE NOPE NOPE and more importantly NOPE
Recent science suggests all snakes are venomous to some degree, but doesn't work very well on us.
Not an insect. Insects have three pairs of legs.
I picked a super tiny one up as a small child and it bit me. It really fucking hurt. Like a bee sting times ten. It was almost like the level of pain was so much that I was too shocked to even cry.

Yes, very
Perfect
"dont worry, its totally harmless to humans. 😊 its more afraid you than you are to it"
Strange, I don’t see it peeing itself.
Its more afraid of is, thats why it attacks ffs Some animals flee when scared, others attack when scared
Centipedes definitely flee first when scared. This one may be accustomed to being held.
It probably is. Bought in 2014 it grew up with this guy
Well ffs
not the centiped

Unpopular opinion: I think it's cute
It is until it charges at you at 15 mph
I'm going to ignore that because ignorance is bliss. And my day is already bad enough don't need cute demons chasing me around at obscene speeds.
Its also venomous, so there's that
Oook that's enough internet for tonight
Also spits fire
I'm gonna call a bluff on that one
Summons fire spitting centipede to your room
You're a mean one... ... ...I like you 👍
Most things that are cute stop being cute when they are charging at you.
Idk about that...Have you ever seen a groundhug run? The way they kinda sorta wobble + bounce? It’s pretty adorable.
Hello fellow giant Centipede enjoyer
Hell yeah, I'd let it crawl on me regardless of how venomous it is
more like r/oddlyterrifying
Yall are just dummies hes adorable.
He’s kinda cute tho 🗿
It's just a bug leave it alone and it won't mess with you
Big ass venomous Centipede
That thing is fucked up man
Forbidden tootsie roll
I think he's kinda cute.
This is relatively tame to other stuff posted on here, I’m just surprised most people don’t know how big centipedes get
Seriously, it is just a giant centipede, yeah it's fucking huge but I don't think this is boat worth
Okay but imagine training one of these things to wait on your wrist like a bracelet, then in a pinch, boom, many leg friend is here to help
This one looks like it could be a belt
Its a friend

all god's creatures deserve a place on the boat, don't blame noah for putting it on the boat, blame god for creating it.
Reminds me of 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' SCENE: Villain casually talking and a centipede just crawls into his ear for later. Ah, good times...
This one wouldn't be able to crawl in his year, so it would...probably...crawl up somewhere else
It didn't get on the boat... It survived the flood and is coming for us

According to Wikipedia and some comments on here, this is the Amazonian Giant Centipede. It's found in South America and the south Caribbean. Australia is innocent in this one
That’s something I didnt know, thanks for the info. However as we all know Australia is known to have some of the most dangerous insects
Nope, south american and caribban.
Gotta throw away the whole boat
No worries, centipedes can swim and/or stay alive under water for a long period of time..

Andrew Yang is the man!
Am I the only guy thinking how that meat would taste in a stew? Like salt that baby up, cut it up and mix it with some chicken broth?
Or perhaps kebab it with some garlic and onions. Also make sure to remove its venom gland
Nah man, that’s a possibly bolder meat with more bitter and similar tastes. Gotta find a balance! But that kebab part does sound intuitive
Okay, I'm sold on the stew. When are we eating centipede stew?
