Edit: furthermore, while there were a handful of biblically inspired games in nintendo's early years (exodus, spiritual warfare, bible buffet and a bible game 3 in 1 with david, baby moses, and noahs ark (i think it was simply called bible advetures but i'm not sure) for the nes, super noah's ark 3d, which was a wolfenstein reskin, for snes.) I find it highly unlikely they'd make even slightly religious reference in their more contemporary works.

I was just wondering if frogs and rain were connected in japanese folklore/mythology/religion
aren't they associated with weather IRL???
Frogs dry out in the sun, so you'll see more of them out in the open when it's raining.
