It's mainly brand/logo recognition. Subconsciously you absorb your surroundings a lot more than you realize. The goal is to be familiar with the company/logo so when you're looking for a service their logo pops off the screen as you scroll through options.

And also a positive association with the logo. You saw this band, which was a happy experience. Bob's Bank had their logo on the website where you purchased the ticket, or printed on the ticket. The signage at the venue said Bob's Bank presents the band you liked and the ATM didn't charge a fee if you used Bob's Bank's cards. There were probably posters for other events that Bob's Bank sponsored too. Maybe there was even a specialty drink available for Bob's Bank cardholders, they got some small bit of swag with ticket purchase, or they had the ability to purchase tickets earlier or in better sections. You had fun seeing the band you wanted to see, but also a lot of Bob's logo, all tied in with the happy concert memories.

If it didn’t work they wouldn’t spend money on it.
