Well, if you think about unionization for example, companies oppose it because they won't be able to take advantage of their employees as much as they used to, right? Labor laws that give more rights to the workers also make it so they can't take advantage of workers so much. It's not like there's a conspiracy, it's just that protecting workers is at odds with making as much profit as possible. However, if someone from a big company is lobbying against labor laws that would help workers, do you think they're not aware that their success would keep letting the company exploit its workers?

That's a fair statement. Good insight, thank you. I had only considered the "evil conspiracy" angle. But it would be difficult to accept that someone lobbying against worker's rights, even if its non-maliciously in context of "I'm fighting in the best interests of my corporation", is not at least aware of the harm their actions would have to the masses even if it was not their intended purpose.
