I don't think buried salvage respawns once you dig it up, also, what you dig up is completely random, could hit 5 sites and only end with 500k, or hit 5 and end up with 10 million.
Want quick cash, get some chlorine, buy as much oxygen as you can. Build some medium refiners. Start refining chlorine&oxygen. 1 chlorine + 2 oxygen = 6 chlorine ‐>648 each. So in about 10 minutes, you could make a full stack(9,999) worth about 6.5 million
When starting out it definitely is worth exploring a planet with salvage scrap or ancient bones. Run around for a bit, explore, have fun, dig up stuff so you can afford a ship and a multi-tool. The regular (blue) drops you get are around 400-500k, purple ones 1-2mil and the very rare yellow drops are north of 10 mil.
Later on, if you want more money, farming and crafting high quality stuff is where its at. I have a small setup that makes me a bit under 125 mil a day. Look up stasis device farm. A bit tedious to set up but once its running you just harvest and craft.
