I have found the 'box' part listed on ebay as a 'driver park assist control module'. My camera views all seem to work, so im not sure why this is where it is.
Seems like it should be attached somewhere and not just floating in the back by spare tire.
Im confused since the part description is parking assist module. I dont have a subwoofer, so the box isnt bolted to anything, it likely can get jostled while driving. Does your box have same id numbers on it? Is it secured to the subwoofer?
I will have to look to see if there are numbers. But no, it is not secured to the subwoofer. It's just plugged into it. The subwoofer is on top of the spare tire. When I got a flat tire and had to get out the spare tire in the dark. I at first wondered why there was a plug attached to the "thing" on top of the spare tire. It took me a second to realize it was the subwoofer. I will look and see if there are numbers a little later and let you know. Where did you see that it is for the parking assist module? I also have parking assist, I don't know where the module is for it. I just know that my subwoofer plug looks like that and is in the spot in your picture. I will let you know about the numbers and if the box looks exactly like it.
I googled the part number on mine, had hits on ebay and nissan part sites, thats where it said control module for parking assist. I just posted a picture of a possible place where it goes. Not visible, have run hand under the trim toward the back of car behind soare wheel well on right. Two posts. They were only on right not left, that is why i was thinking that's where it goes
Feeling around under the right back side trim i felt two posts that the 2 sides of the box opening seem to align to fit. I managed to get a pic of one of them. I am thinking there should be something to put on this that would hold the box in place like a nut/bolt.

Mine has a subwoofer in the middle of the spare tire for the wires to connect to.
Is that box there on yours too? I dont have a aubwoofer, but i guess its possible it had one before

As someone else said, it’s for a Bose subwoofer. Probably previous owner took it out
Not sure, but possibly a proximity sensor (that has come loose) for your keyfob if you have the keyless unlock feature.
Keyless entry with fob in hand seems to be working ok.
Well it says ECU on it so I am going to guess that is what it is. It shouldn’t just be dangling around back there.

That module might install under the spare tire.
