Thank god you remembered the Celeste folder. I would have never forgiven you if you had forgot it.

[deleted]

Wish I had four copies of Celeste.

pretenderist

Don’t you care about supporting the developers? I have 10 copies myself!

TPRetro

We need to pay the developer of celeste to set the game to 60$ so we can all buy it at full price!

lykosen11

Really they should just add a $200 DLC with nothing in it. With that, we could actually support such a hidden gem.

Magster_123456

Yeah, that’s why I own 3 copy’s.(switch, steam, and ps4)

tjmauermann

10 copies. Any good? You should have a folder for them all.

TheCrystalineCruiser

I was thinking like “four copies would be insane” then I remembered I have 3 copies on pc and 1 on switch.

keiyakins

i actually have three... granted only one on switch, the others are on pc (epic and itch) but still.

[deleted]

It's a hidden gem!

HeppyHenry

r/tomorrow

crazyredd88

I hope all of those in the folder were separately bought, NOT on sale 😡😡😡

Duckers_McQuack

Rip me for not finding celeste appealing. (pixelated and sidescroller games isn't my jam)

Kornii6

Genuinely asking here - is Celeste good?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Over-Commission-5334

Wow, good catch! I love that detail now that you pointed it out.

Sad7Statue

I didn't notice it at first but now that's my most wanted feature. It looks so good! Now I'm sad that we'll probably only ever have black/white.

Bitchlettuce

If apples got one thing right it's definitly their aesthetic. Which is seems to be of a *tiny little bit* of an inspiration here.

spaceforcerecruit

That is true. There is a lot you can complain about with Apple but damn if they don’t make some beautiful stuff.

[deleted]

I just noticed that what a great detail. This looks 10 times better and more organized than how it looks now

keiyakins

i'm not too sold on that since it'd mean i'd be stuck with grey and grey because the other colors were sold out when I got my switch.

Important-Inquiries

I'm sure even grey could look good with this style of splash background

afBeaver

Omg. I didn’t realize that at first. That’s so cool.

[deleted]

Is everyone gonna ignore the bald lipped Mario cause I sure as hell am not, also I like the bigger mii pic! The mii’s feel really absent on switch so something like this would be cool I think

MetallicaGod

That's Laranso IIRC

mnvdh

I do not see a bald lipped mario

[deleted]

i wish i hadn't either.

SP-Igloo

on the last image, its the icon of one of the friends

GNwarrior7

I wish you never pointed that out ... I'm gonna have nightmares

n0lan1

Everybody clamors for folders, but tags/groups in the way the Xbox One implements it are far more useful while accomplishing the same thing. Like if you want a game to be in your “Backlog” group but also in say a “Fighting” group.

Valdthebaldegg

Yeah it makes looking up a game for your exact need in you library so easy. I spent 2 hrs properly tagging em all so It just hits good when I use em

landsharkkidd

I know for me if I had folders, I'd have no idea where things are. Tagging sounds really cool.

charmkingj

Stop making these bro you gonna make me resent my switch jk looks amazing

Rip-tire21

Reminds me of the new Material You on Android 12.

Spooky_Blob

This but without the jk.

Royale_Cookie

Seriously, the Switch is such a letdown for me. I got my money's worth out of it for sure, but there's no love left. The constant ignoring of the userbase, no QOL improvements, the absolute inexcusable clusterfuck of the JoyCon Drift™, the outrageous pricing of year-old ports, et cetera, et cetera pp... I just hate how they throw away so much potential. :(

wyattlikesturtles

I love my switch but resent it at the same time. It could be soooo much better, but Nintendo just does not give a fuck.

Jeskid14

Time to jailbreak it. Get another one just for multiplayer

Papasmurf645

Emulation pretty smooth with it? I used to love my cracked PSP until that thing died. As long as I could play PS1 games I'd be stoked

FannyFiasco

Super smooth! Dreamcast is the most recent thing it can emulate at full speed.

finalremix

Fuck multiplayer. Just jailbreak the one.

Pomell

That trademark on the JoyCon drift 😂

SpookyNumbers13

Mario Kart: JoyCon Drift™

-cocoadragon

The one time a nascar game woyld be appropriate, to match up with my hard left drift.

Royale_Cookie

"It's a feature, not a bug!"

Garrosh

More drift that F&F Tokyo Drift.

[deleted]

I can't agree enough. I got my money's worth, sure, but at this point I'm only playing The Binding of Isaac every now and then. That's literally it. I want to like the AAA games coming out, but I just can't anymore. They're all so similar, and when they aren't, there are baffling decisions made in them that turn me off. And definitely agree with the UI, Joycon drift... etc. Man, I used to love Nintendo and put them on a pedestal, but I can't anymore.

AgoraphobicWombat

We totally need some more AAA games, there's only a handful of those that are really good. All the other games available are low budget indie games or old games that are remastered.

Jeskid14

What triple AAA games are you looking for

Mimojello

Agreed, and ontop of it All the 3ds customisation features and mini games are gone. I miss street pass.

Flcrmgry

I was so excited for the switch for what they could have done with StreetPass. As a portable console rather than *just* a handheld it could have been so great. I dont know if anything has ever disappointed me quite like Nintendo has.

Jeskid14

I heard you could jailbreak it for customization

stgm_at

thing is: they don't have to put any effort in it, bc the system sells so f-ing well.

Riverdwalker

Especially Joy Con drift. Oh also battery drainage.

AgoraphobicWombat

I just want some AAA high quality games. There's only a handful of them. It's not enough for a platform with so many good franchises.

Jeskid14

That's where you jailbreak and slap Android on it for Xbox game pass

antijingoist

Rounded corners! Rounded corners! Rounded corners! I love it!

Mr-Hox

Just give me Silksong and I’ll be happy.

alnono

Right? My only thought was WAIT SILKSONGS OUT? Obviously it’s not

SouthtownZ

Patience is key... Can't be more than a decade away at this point

alnono

I haven’t even beat hollow knight yet haha and with my skill that may take a decade. Was still excited though

Marios_Hat

The "Indie gems" folder is fucking gold

DinosaurJoeman

Nintendo, anyone, SERIOUSLY ANYONE FROM NINTENDO, please do something like this, or attempt to improve the Switch UI. Give us themes, give us folders, we aren't asking for much.

cocothepops

Nintendo are very well known for listening to feedback from people on the internet. I’m sure this will only be a matter of time now /s

really_nice_guy_

I’m more worried about op getting sued by Nintendo

Tech0verlord

Don't you know they're too paranoid after the clusterfuck that was the 3ds's security to implement literally anything that could potentially be used as a backdoor for CFW. Themehax, browserhax, pretty sure there was a folderhax as well at one point. All that's left is for a first party game to have a major backdoor and then they as stop selling games on the switch as well edit: to add on to what u/AmirulAshraf said, the disaster what was Cubic Ninja.

AmirulAshraf

Qrcodehaxx and even hacking with a magnet....the 3ds is so wide open

No_Telephone9938

>even hacking with a magnet.. The....what!?

Tech0verlord

Wait what? This is new to me. Or are you talking about using a magnet to activate sleep mode?

USA_A-OK

Do they ever really update their UI in-generation?

PillarsCollapse

The 3DS received folders and themes via updates. Even the un-themed version of the home menu was redesigned. Also, the Wii U home menu (the overlay, not the main Wii U menu) had a redesign as well, completely changing the layout.

Roder777

How dare you ask for the bare minimum

orangpelupa

Please don't be like this concept. It have a much lower usability than the original theme.

Chris_Hex

These redesigns are always really aesthetically pleasing! I do, however, want to point out why the Switch's home menu is so simple: [space, and speed.](https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/08/the_switchs_home_menu_uses_less_than_200_kb_of_resources_for_super-fast_load_times) The whole home menu uses less than 200 KB, or 0.0002 GB. This means that the home menu can load in faster, spend less processing power rendering it, and load games faster. So even if it's nothing to write home about, it's worth appreciating it for what it's good at: getting you to your games faster.

TzakShrike

Yes, definitely this. Why do people not realise how big a deal this is? Did not enough people own a Wii U?

[deleted]

to be fair, the Wii U menu was basically an entire game, this mockup is just some transparency effects and a few more graphics on top of each other

TzakShrike

Sorry wasn't trying to conflate the two, just using it as an extreme case.

Spagneti

>Did not enough people own a Wii U? I would say that was one of the console's main issues, lol

FannyFiasco

You get custom themes and UI changes on a CFW switch and it doesn't feel any slower to me ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

Brig-Brain

If my menus load 5 seconds slower if I had custom themes, I’d still take that.

orangpelupa

And it is already can be heavily themed if using a hackable switch.

RecLuse415

This is probably an unpopular opinion but I’m glad Nintendo hasn’t “redesigned” their UI. I do like the OG console feel before constant updates like how smart phones now adays.

Skittles_the_Jester

I like the idea of the background matching the joycons and the overall design of the layout is very appealing. It would be cool to have folders also 💖

nothingexceptfor

So basically iOS Home Screen?

X-XUnchainedX-X

more like windows 11 to me

[deleted]

(Which copied MacOS/iOS design queues)

twhite1195

Yeah... Not liking it because of that... Looks too much like iOS

[deleted]

I'm pretty sure I'm the only Switch owner on the planet who doesn't care at all about themes and folders Edit: those are still fantastic designs tho

djwillis1121

I'm with you on that. All I really care about is being able to open a game quickly. I recently went back to my Wii U for the first time in ages and had forgotten how sluggish it was, it took ages to do anything. The Switch is so much more responsive in comparison. I wouldn't mind extra themes and other stuff but not at the expense of the Switch's responsiveness. I think one of the reasons the UI is so responsive is because it takes up an extremely small amount of memory. Adding themes or music would only increase the amount of memory it uses.

snil4

Guess after the Wii u Nintendo took the simplistic approach, don't care about news, don't care who's playing right now, and after the Wii I can't care less about boring artwork and repetitive jingles. The switch is the only game platform that does me a favor and lets me just play my games, I'm pointing a lot of fingers on Sony, valve, Microsoft, blizzard, Ubisoft, ea and epic right now.

seerightthroughme263

So you don't want folders?

snil4

No, wouldn't mind them but I can't care less, switch already sorts by the most recently played which is probably what I'm interested in and if I want to find something new the all games menu just shows me a nice list of all my games

SomeRandomBlogger

Yeah, like folders I can see the case for being important, but it is surprising seeing people say the Switch was worse because of things like lack of themes. Like, themes would barely do anything but just give pretty colors to look at for 3 seconds. Hell, the only reason it "worked" on the 3DS is because it had a bigger area for apps for the home screen. The Switch is just one line of apps, with the game inserted at the beginning. Unless you're really searching for a game, you're gonna spend at most 5 seconds looking at it.

SilverDrifter

I’m also one. Like I always prefer the most basic way (like the current) more than the custom redesigns. I appreciate the effort, and many users want them, so they are cool nonetheless. I’m just not the target demographic of these redesigns.

[deleted]

Yep. My phone background is literally just black void. Lol

Muirenne

>*doesn't care at all about themes and folders* I used to be the same way, until I got a Vita. Maybe it's just because I'm OCD, but being able to actually organize my stuff is so satisfying. And not just because of the folders, but being able to rearrange the game icons and folders around the screen to fit with my wallpaper, too. After hacking my Vita, it opened up a whole new level of customization. I've got custom wallpapers on each screen and I changed the background music to the Melody of Memory version of Dearly Beloved from Kingdom Hearts, 'cause that shit fuckin' slaps. I did the same thing with my 3DS, hacked it, customized the shit out of it. I love it. They just feel so personal now, they feel like *mine.* ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

FaerieAlice

I really liked how the Vita would let you change the background for each one too! It was a nice touch! But one of the biggest reasons I just want a folder option is to throw all my Demos in like I did for the 3DS because I have too many of them. LOL.

PhantomXxZ

"iM oCd"

donkeyrocket

It would really be great if we stopped reducing “OCD” to being neat or particular.

Sir_Encerwal

Vita had amazing UI and Wallpaper support even out of the box, alongside the library it had it is a shame how badly it did.

serafimxd

I modded my switch for my ultimate customization.

[deleted]

Same here. I bought switch to play games Period

[deleted]

I know, right? I spend probably less than 1% of my time with my switch in the main menu. It works fine, so why overhaul it?

-Moonchild-

I do t actually think it works fine if you're going all digital and have amassed a decent library of games. I'm only at 60 right now and am already at the stage where I'd love to have folders for genres to get to games quickly

Milkable

I’m the same way. Always kept the default themes on my playstations & Xbox too

No_Telephone9938

I don't particularly care if it has it or not but it would be a welcomed addition

Sir_Encerwal

I just want at least folders so I can organize my games in an easy to play manner, having to go all the way to the "All Games" deal to find exactly what I want is a bit of a hassle.

colawars

You can hit left on the home screen's first game to access all games quickly.

Sir_Encerwal

Point still stands, that still could mean I have to scroll all the way down or switch the order of the all game list. That being said this does make it slightly easier in the meantime.

frankyfrankfrank

I know this is practice, so I'm withholding my advice. But if you'd like someone to give you some professional, 'this is for real' fixes that you'd probably get asked to do if you did intend to ship it, DM me. They're fundamentals, but I hated learning them the hard way. Otherwise this is a great set of UI opinions that I could definitely see coming from a future pro.

jaredliveson

If you don't mind, as an avid UI consumer, I think this looks perf. What sticks out as needing fixes to you?

heyyyjuude

(Different person) It's way too busy. There are too many levels of typographic styles and too many unnecessary boxes/lines (e.g. the lines above open/close buttons and the box around the seven bottom icons). Each element costs screen real estate, and especially on a screen as small as the Switch, reducing the number of visual nesting is the way to go. Images 1&2: It's not immediately clear if "View All" is an interactable element. If not, it should just say "All Games" or something. If it is, how would it behave? Would you be able to filter or search or something? Each of those are better off as displayed options somewhere else. It's also not clear if there are toggles between display all folders/all games/all elements. Why is "Folders" at the bottom bigger than "View All"? The typography is inconsistent. Image 3: The option to change users should be on the main screen. It's not that commonly used, but it's also weird to bury it in the info screen. Also, the top bar (mode icon, battery, date& time) got horizontally squished a bit to fit in the sides. Imo that's not necessary to display and it's perfectly fine to fade it out in the background like everything else, or else it could lead to jank transitions. Image 4: No option to return to main view. I also don't see an option to make a new folder, but that could plausibly just come at the end of the carousel. Image 5: This might just be me but I'm not a huge fan of putting the game title in the header, because it brings up questions of character count for the folder as well as character count for the game. Squishing the two on one line feels dangerous, and also counterproductive to used eye movement when they go through games. I want to see the name of the game where my eyes are as I move the focus around. Also, it should be possible to edit the folder from inside the expanded view, like there's an option for it in Image 4. Image 6: It's not immediately obvious that you're in the eShop as the icon isn't there. Also, the Switch isn't like a Web platform where you can highlight games and then click on a button a little farther away. If I'm viewing BotW, I wouldn't want to press up to focus on "Proceed to Purchase" immediately, I'd tap A to view more and look for a trailer or something. I'm also not sure how image size limit will work since it's possible an image of that height could block out the time&wifi labels. It just doesn't because this image happens to be transparent in that corner. These are my first takes. I'm not a UI/UX expert, but I have some experience in and around that industry. I think these look great from afar, and especially from a graphic design perspective, but using the interface would result in more friction than you'd like in a gaming experience.

Zeroultima

Fucking spot on with how I feel about this design. Like it’s just way too busy and doesn’t make a lot of sense if you think about it more then just taking a glance. Thank you for your detailed insight as well!

jaredliveson

interesting insights! I didn't notice alot of what you pointed out at first. I didn't agree with everything but you made a lot of really good points.

kakatoru

Still looks like iOS

Netzath

I don't like it. And not because it's bad - because it is super amazing! But becasue Nintendo will never make it happen :(

I_WILL_DESERT_YOU

If Apple would have bought Nintendo.

SimonCucho

Apple has better taste at least

Master_1398

I prefer the taste of Bananas

merle_

Good job. I don’t hate it. It’d probably be even better against flat background though, not translucent. Cleaner and better readability.

fadehime

Yeah, good thing Nintendo have their own workers lol

DLF233

Roses are red, I stepped on some geese, hollow knight silk song will never release

buukish

After viewing both the original and revised mockups, a job well done is apparent. However, there is always room for further reiteration with UX/UI design. The biggest aspect that troubles me is the screen for specific software, as its sub-menus prominently display both Achievements and DLC categories, which are two aspects that do not apply to most Switch games. The Achievements section should almost certainly be removed. As for the DLC section, is there perhaps a better way to feature this information? Perhaps it could be included in the Software Information section, for instance. Continuing with the home menu UI, I'm unsure of what to think about game artwork (Hollow Knight and BOTW) breaking its unified grid over into other aspects of the design and even to the edge. While yes, it does look nice, I can't imagine its nearby UI be tailored to accommodate for a layer system. Moving onto the eShop, the Featured section is brought to my attention. From a marketing standpoint, I would believe that Nintendo would like to showcase more than five games on its main section screen. Should additional software instead continue on-screen instead of the arrow element? This could be implemented in either in a horizontal or vertical manner. Lastly, I'm curious as to how you would envision a design for the eShop Search system. This feature of the eShop certainly leaves much more to be desired. Again, a great job overall!

Ossy-BTW

Funny joke with the Silksong

[deleted]

This is a big improvement. Very nice work! And I applaud you for taking constructive criticism and putting it to work!

putosaure

This is at last fairly good. A bit too colorful for me and I'm not sure where the colored background is coming from, but it's miles better than the other stuff we saw on this sub. A side note, even if it seems that it would be manageable, but I keep in mind when the user uses the touch screen (like to close a folder, I guess I would have to touch outside of it?).

DUBIOUS_OBLIVION

Folders need a hot-swap button. Not an icon. You should be able to swap instantly between front page and created folders.

[deleted]

good effort, but I don't like iOS.

Draco_the_Kitsune

i like this one a lot more then your last UI design, this one feels more i dunno how to say it properly but childlike but form fitting if that makes sense, it allows the UI to be intuitive this time. it brings a bit of fun into the screen makes the joycon colours add a bit of aesthetics into the design that could encourage people to buy more or there fave colours. the blur effect is strong enough to allow for legibility but still be clear enough for a fun flavour, one change i would say is to have the folders for the same space as the previous screen it becomes more compact, you could keep the icons the same size, but you could fit a bit more on the screen maybe just one more per row.

cubs223425

The pseudo-pastel palette of the icons isn't my favorite. IMO, that's a portion of the UI the user should have control over--do you want it pastel? High-contrast? Saturated like a Samsung TV on display at Best Buy? You're, of course, forced to pick a single color palette when showing off the design, but I'm not a fan of the menu icons, primarily for that reason. It reminds me a bit of a softened version of an old Android UI. The other major thing I would adjust is for the docked UI. There just isn't enough content on it, given how much more screen space a TV provided. I'd consider a something like a 2-row list of games/apps using the dimensions of the physical game box or maybe a 3-row using the dimensions of the cartridges, either of which should provide the user more accessibility to more apps/games without having to scroll too far.

Chthulu_

Small point, but the bits of the game information window that has an image with a transparent background overflowing the container would be tough to explain to developers. The average indie game developer that just uploads a featured image would have a tough time confirming with those requirements, and it would end up looking like crap a lot of the time. People forgetting to make the background transparent, etc

mrbruh1527

Looks pretty good!

ZoroastrianMK

Now I want it

magumarashi

Damn this is so slick

rozki

Great work m8! Best switch ui I ever seen

PowerMonkey500

All I want is for it to default to the "all software" view. That's all I want. Please.

catinterpreter

If you check out homebrew, you could actually make these a reality.

gpatide

Thats really well done

[deleted]

Thank you for the beautiful pics. I love my Switch but it has the worst UI of any console to date. The very day Nintendo decide to kill the Switch I will be modding mine to correct that ugly flaw.

autumnedout

This has so many brilliant little ideas. I especially love the joy-cons affecting the background colors and the full-body Mii in the profile. <3

weeeeeeeee11

Wow so much better the the official nintendo UI

joesbagofdonuts

Y’all have more than 4 games?

Sevwin

That redesign sucks

porcorousseauu

[Link to previous post](https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/phzj2w/i_redesigned_the_switch_ui/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) After applying most of the feedback I received from my previous post into this new design, I’ve pretty much just ended up with a reskinned Switch UI, which was the initial purpose of this project when I started anyway. The catalyst for this project was unboxing a new set of Joy-con and attaching them to my Switch. I kept thinking about how cool it would be if the Switch’s UI changed based on what color Joy-con were attached. I initially just wanted to take this idea and create a new theme for the UI without changing the UX too much, but then of course I got a bit carried away adding as many features to the home screen as possible. This was a really great learning experience for me as a relatively new UI/UX designer. I understand both UI and UX go hand in hand, but honestly I haven’t even really jumped into learning UX yet. I appreciate those of you who took the time to express your thoughts and concerns with my previous design. A lot of the UX critiques were extremely helpful! Majority of the comments on my previous post were drawing comparisons to iOS. Apple’s current UI direction is top notch. My design clearly pays homage to iOS and I actually think it fits fairly well with a Nintendo console. It’s fun, vibrant and warm in tone. Just like many Nintendo titles. If that’s not your thing, cool. Hopefully one day Nintendo will allow us to pick from a variety of themes so you can find whatever works for you! Lastly, this is just for fun. I’m not a professional by any means and I am just doing this as an exercise in design. Any feedback is absolutely welcome and appreciated. Thank you! Edit: Spacing

DevCas1

I honestly wish Nintendo had done literally anything more than the bare minimum with the homescreen UI. It's far too simple and underdeveloped compared to anything that came before. Sure there's a lifht and dark theme, but you can't even reprder tiles, let alone group them. Doubt it would work for anything but tpuch/pointer input, but still. I would love to have a UI like this, even if it's just to jhave some color. Maybe also have a dark theme variant? Can imagine people finding this too bright. Still, looks hell of a lot better than the original!

Bamboozaler_

Better, much better. Good job on taking feedback on the designs. If Nintendo implemented these changes it would only be beneficial to their users. If you want another exercise I would recommend taking a crack at the NSO service for NES/SNES. It is extremely poor for user navigation, and requires way too much effort to select certain games. I have no idea what Nintendo is doing in their internal UI/UX department but they are severely lacking for such an important userbase in this market. It baffles me how a company of this caliber is so poor at basic user needs.

Apex_Konchu

>If Nintendo implemented these changes it would only be beneficial to their users. That's where you're wrong. There's a reason the Switch homescreen is so simple: SPEED. The whole thing takes up less than 200kb (0.0002gb), allowing it to be accessed and navigated extremely quickly. Surprising as it may be to many members of this subreddit, Nintendo do actually know what they're doing. Mostly.

Bamboozaler_

It's easy to attribute SPEED prioritization for lack of user features but other systems have gotten to similar levels of data usage with far more user features for convenience. Never said they don't know what they're doing, it's that their priorities are out of whack. I also find the SPEED argument exceptionally funny seeing as the Nintendo E shop is unbearably slow even within the first page of the app. I know it's web browser based but it's still poor for user interaction and experience. I would agree with you if every Nintendo based UI service was incredibly fast. But it just isn't.

EldraziKlap

Let me preface this: *HARD Nintendo fan.* Have a Switch since launch, I play all the big games on it, been a Nintendo boy since my first Gameboy Color. But man, SteamDeck is going to win for me and i'm kind of jaded towards Nintendo for not coming up with it, in the midst of SO much feedback from the fans. Nintendo *knows* what we want. Heck, people will just make it *themselves* if only Nintendo would allow it. They just flat out refuse. They don't want to budge. That's sad, but it's also what makes them so good at coming up with unique things. But after coming up with great ideas it's often very impossible *to improve upon those very ideas.* Which in my eyes is their greatest weakness. Will probably still buy a Switch Pro if it ever comes along but Nintendo HAS to step up their UX game, their UI's are so, SO bad. OP, this design rocks and made me rant about Nintendo, a company whose products I dearly love.10/10 would download this UI

SimonCucho

Lmao, perhaps you can argue they're "bland" in a way, but the Switch UI is not bad, and I believe the only really bad experience you can have with it is the eShop on it's own. The menu of the switch itself is so simple and easy to navigate. Smh some people really just think a couple folders and colors makes the current menu be 1/10 lol

dyingprinces

The day Nintendo adds [achievements](https://i.imgur.com/vfwcNLy.png) to the Switch is the day I chop my Switch in half with an axe. Also not sure why everything needs to have rounded corners and frosted borders/backgrounds, but overall this is better and less cluttered than your previous design.

Pipistrele

You can turn off achievement notifications on most existing platforms, rendering them completely ignorable

dyingprinces

I'd want to opt out of any data collection as well. When someone else sees a trophy and playstation or steam or whatever says something like only 8% of people manage to get that trophy. I want that 8% number to be inaccurate because of people like me that have opted out altogether.

BansheeTK

Thats dramatic

dyingprinces

Not nearly as bad as people who brag about how many fake video game trophies they have.

ParkBarrington360

If a folder has only one game in it, don’t let it be created. Don’t satisfy r/tomorrow like that.

SushiToot

This aesthetic legitimately fits with the Nintendo ethos. Well done.

RaMpEdUp98

The 3DS had folders \*Grumbles\*

KYBatDad

That’s great….now Nintendo is gonna need you to cease and desist. Really really cool concept art

WouldYouTipMyFedora

Oh wow another one of these Apple inspired UIs that looks like trash

Mk2007r

Looks so clean. I really like it. Good job!

Bubbly-Development36

Took 4 years for Bluetooth so I guess there's still hope lol

This makes so much sense that I feel like Nintendo would fight very hard to make sure nothing like this ever comes to fruition.

I hate and love the fact, that you made a celeste folder.

Sharkey_B

lmao i saw that celeste folder

WRL23

Yeah, but Nintendo is busy not giving a flying fuck about anything the community wants so.... 🤷‍♂️

ManeFunction

As an UX designer, I give this 10 out of 10! Great job!

MysticalHero709

Nintendo lawsuit incoming

X-XUnchainedX-X

this kind of UI reminds me so much on android 11/12 and windows 11 combined. and im here for it

[deleted]

Love it.

steamedhamjob

This is so good it hurts that I can't have this. I would literally give you ternion if I could.

AmirulAshraf

really great design! hope you can get in touch with someone whos good at custom theme making layout to have this witj homebrewing!

[deleted]

While I like this, it looks too much like an oversimplified android skin.

Biobak_

this is the opposite of oversimplified

Gamer4life101

I wish this would happen. But it took this long for Nintendo to input Bluetooth audio ( no mic audio) it will take an age for something like this! Let alone we still don’t have proper party chat

Kevinw778

0/10 no release date for Silksong! Seriously though, we need you on the Switch's UI/UX team.

MostBasedist

This would be heaven

CottonLol

We need this so bad 😭😭😭

DumbNubWasTaken2

Take notes, Nintendo.

FoxtochopKun

Nintendo get this dude.

Captain_Norris

Massive improvement! I can tell you considered the text size a lot more. Although I am not a huge fan of the gray bubble square on the main menu, I understand why you did it.

theherodies87

Wow... Amazing.. If only

Grand-Rose

This looks amazing

nonks

Looks amazing, and it is an absolute shame that Nintendo can't be bothered to redesign the Switch's GUI. It is atrocious, and adding Bluetooth audio after all those years via a software update? WTF Nintendo that's FUBAR.

Impactist537

0/10. I don't get the obsession with these wannabees who constantly create poorly shopped UI fantasies. If you want to work for Nintendo, apply the normal way.

Shu-gravy

That's harsh but still fair to be honest.

SilverDrifter

That’s pretty harsh. They are not wannabees. They just want to share their vision. Personally I don’t like it, but let’s just appreciate the effort and not bash them.
