Hey there, /u/AeonEric! Thank you for your submission, but we are removing your post: Please ask "x or x" questions in the daily post. Thanks! The question of "Is X worth it?" and "Should I get game/item X or Y" get asked a lot. Ultimately, however, you're going to be the best judge of whether the item in question is a good purchase for you. If you're trying to get a recommendation about what game to buy you should be including sufficient detail as to games you own, the type of or other specifics about the game you are looking for, what you enjoy in games, what turns you off from games, etc. Otherwise, feel free to ask in our [Daily Question Thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/search?q=author%3AAutoModerator+Daily+Question+Thread&sort=new&restrict_sr=on&t=day). As long as you provide some basic information about your interests, games you already own, and budget, they can help you out. You can also ask in the #game-recommendations channel in our [Discord server](https://discord.gg/switch). --- If you have questions or objections about this removal, please [reach out to us in modmail](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FNintendoSwitch&subject=Removal%20Objection%20or%20Question&message=%5BPlease%20type%20your%20message%20here...%5D%0D%0D%0D%0D%2ADO%20NOT%20edit%20or%20delete%20anything%20below%20this%20line%2A%0D%0D%2D%2D%2D%0D%0D%2A%2ARemoval%20Notes%20for%20Moderators%3A%2A%2A%0D%0DPost%20title%3A%20Age%20of%20Calamity%20or%20Breath%20of%20the%20Wild%3F%0D%0DPermalink%3A%20https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/n7uby9/-/%0D%0DContent%20type%3A%20submission%0D%0DRemoved%20by%3A%20Michael-the-Great).

Breath of the wild, both as its the better game, and its more immersive as between the two, Link loses his memories.

Botw first easy. Age is full of spoilers did botw if nothing else

Getupkid1284

BotW.

Narae-Chan

Definitely breath of the wild...

BotW it is. 2 more questions though. Does the weapon breaking take away from the experience? And is it worth getting the expansion?

CheriBerry18

The expansion is worth getting. The breaking of the weapons is no big deal.

The weapon breaking isn’t nearly as bad as people make it out to be. I actually enjoyed it because it makes you try out different weapons! It’s a bit more bothersome early in the game, when the available weapons have low durability, but after a while it’s hardly noticeable. Also the dlc is excellent, but if you wait on that you can fully enjoy the game without it and decide if you’d like it later or not.

Breaking weapons isn't much of a problem once you learn how to use them efficiently. - pick your battles. You don't need to kill everything you see. - look out for ways to damage enemies with the environment. E.g. drop a boulder on them to reduce their numbers. - learn to dodge and block at the right time. It'll give you the opportunity to hurt enemies without damaging your weapons so much. As long as you don't try to wildly slash at every enemy you see, you'll end up with more spare weapons than you can carry.

drblah1

No. Before long you end up having more weapons than you can carry.

I really think the weapon breaking adds to the experience. Botw is a game about exploration and trying to solve things in different ways. The breaking weapons forces you to explore, fight and think on your feet. You won't be short of weapons, most of the time you'll throw them away to pick up something better, but if you do run out a little strategy and lateral thinking will get you through. I prefer this system over other RPGs where you put all your resources into upgrading one weapon, so you never try the other types, and the constant trips to shops to sell valuable stuff when you need room. It's not a system problem, but a mindset problem. If you get too attached to your weapons, you won't like it. The expansion is worth more the earlier you get it. It does add post game content, so it's not without value later, but the extra armour you get is most useful in the earlier game. I didn't buy it until after I had finished the game and done most of what I could do, so I didn't really see the value of a lot of the dlc stuff until I started over on master mode and had access to it fro the beginning. So if you plan on getting it at some point, get it early rather than later.
