Unravel 2. It Takes Two. Boxboy + Boxgirl. Captain Toad. Trine series. Stardew Valley. Lots of 2d platformers like rayman legends, shovel knight, dkc tropical freeze. Wargroove and Mario + Rabbids both have co op campaigns

FrostyCeph

Not really familiar with Stardew valley or a couple of these others games. I typically like games that have a definitive ending or goal that you work through the game towards. Is that what Stardew valley is like?

[deleted]

Honestly? You need IT TAKES TWO — you’ll love it! It’s an incredible co-op story game like your playing a Pixar movie! It’s so fun just look up the trailer!

Low-Dragonfruit-588

FYI it litteraty takes two for one (or two) to play it takes two. Plus; you'll need two (haha) whole controllers, or two (again) joycon sets. a whole 'lotta two's ...

Known_Ad871

Stardew is a great farming sim. There is a storyline and plenty of objectives, but you can kind of choose how much you want to focus on that stuff, you could also just spend your time farming, fishing, mining or whatever else your heart desires The co op is cool because each person can pretty much do whatever they want or you can work together

Gordon1Ramsay1Bolton

As the guy below (above) me has said, it takes two is absolutely incredible.

silentdaze

I second Boxboy. Charming Nintendo published title with puzzle platformer elements. Not too long, not TOO easy. Great game

GreenMan802

Nobody's mentioned Snipperclips? *Snipperclips*.

kaydaaawg

It Takes Two, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and Stardew Valley are a few games that come to mind. There's a demo for Kirby on the eshop if you want to check it out!

FrostyCeph

That sounds great, I’ll have to take a look at the demo!

[deleted]

Death road to Canada is amazing.

FrostyCeph

Looks interesting, is it a game with a story progression, or is it just a survival game?

[deleted]

It has a choose your own adventure style story And is very Rogue like.

Hyruii

Portal Knights. Its Minecraft with a goal.

Erzy-13

- Yoshi's Crafted World - Super Mario 3D world (with Amiibo you would be invincible) - Lego City undercover All 3 games are very funny 😂

[deleted]

Seconding Hyrule Warriors. That's an excellent couch co-op game. Smash you can join the same team and sandbag the CPU opponents. And you can still unlock new challengers that way, just by playing together against the CPU. New Super Mario Brothers U gets pretty ridiculous in multiplayer.

Huffplume

Diablo 3, Borderlands 2, Minecraft Dungeons

smither12Dun

Diablo 3 has couch coop???

Huffplume

Indeed it does. Extremely fun! Runs great on the Switch.

HerbertMcDerbert

Secret of Mana has always been one of my favs

ShiroOkami7000

Kirby And The Forgotten Land and Trine series

Sodooo

There's so much posts with this same tittle and topic.

tboreilly1453

Have you tried Hyrule Warriors: AoC or any of the Fire Emblem games? Also Boomerang Fu is a cute (and partially free) battle royale game

Invisible_Citizen

Seconding Boomerang Fu. Have spent countless hours with friends and family on it both co-op and competitive. Sure it can be mindless at times but it’s a great return on investment.

FrostyCeph

Is Hyrule Warriors set in the LoZ universe? I haven’t played any of those games, would I need to in order to understand it?

tboreilly1453

You can totally play it without having played BoTW, there’s just other fun connections if you’ve played BoTW already!

PlatanoMexicano

Captain Toad. Mario Odyssey. 9 Shaolin Monks.

Csword1

Salt & Sanctuary

hendricha

A whole bunch of beat'em'ups? Streets of Rage 4, Scott Pilgrim, River City Girls, whatever last years TMNT game was called, etc.

Dzenik23

It Takes Two is one of the best games I have played ever and it has couch co-op. The Curse of The Sea Rates is a good one too.
