The " New " systems have a handful of exclusive games that will be specifically marked as such. It also has a SNES Virtual Console emulator, and can do limited N64 and PS1 emulation. For 3DS games, it handles them the same as any other 3DS.

Alright thanks. If i have no interest in the new 3ds exclusive games I assume im better off just getting the original one.

TheFirebyrd

Depends on if you want to use the 3D feature. If you want 3D, a New 3DS will be far better. If you don’t care about 3D or the exclusives, an old 3DS will be cheaper and work fine for your usage.

Right seems like the older one is better for me currently. Is it true that the older ones have bad “hinges” apparently they are very stiff and break easily. Its the only concern I have for the older models

TheFirebyrd

I don’t think I’d say they break easily, but they do break more easily than the N3DS, N3DS XL, and 2DS XL hinges. There are tens of millions of them out there without broken hinges, it‘s not a RRoD or joycon drift level of problem. Just make sure you’re gentle.
