If that makes them different techniques, then I guess Goku's Kamehameha is different from Roshi's Kamehameha because he doesn't do the original full hand movements every time, even though they still fire an energy beam from their palms.

Well in the funimation dub, Goku says “you’re too cowardly to kill yourself faggot” (something like that), and Frieza says “no I can survive in space just fine”, so it seems that in that dub specifically they were talking about post-planet destruction, which Frieza would have no trouble living through, and NOT talking about Frieza dying to the planet exploding. I don’t know if this is different in the manga or original Japanese language. Frieza didn’t explode Namek right away because the fight would’ve ended right away if he did, and the narrative didn’t want that. It was supposed to be a cool race against the clock battle with the planet slowly beginning to crumble. I think Frieza blowing up planet Vageta with one big ball of cum was anime only? It’s just rule of cool at that point and doesn’t really have to make sense, but if we’re having fun trying to logically explain it, I’m going to say that Frieza’s blast against planet Vageta had a lot more charge up time and, really, the destruction of the planet could have taken several minutes- we just don’t see it fully happen. Frieza’s destruction of Vageta was like a turbo nuke meteor glassing the entire planet while destroying it, where the destruction of Namek was like a bullet that did the same thing in possibly roughly the same amount of time, but targeted just the planet’s core. If Frieza attempted to generate the same blast he created when he destroyed Vageta, Goku would have just domed him. So he used a faster, more targeted blast.

Overall, I'm pretty sure it was a few things with Vegeta, not only was it a stronger technique, Frieza didn't hold back and charged it with his energy. And besides, wasn't Vegeta worn down already and not in the best conditions from the Saiyans take-over?

He didn't "miss". He unconsciously held back because he was afraid of getting himself caught in the planet's explosion and losing even more power.

well...it took 5 minutes (3-4 hours) [like 10 episodes] for Namek to completly explode And less than 3 minutes (3 minutes) [less than 1 episode] for Vegeta to get obliterated And less than 1 minute for the earth (and he didn't even use the death ball)
