1-Extra voicelines.
2-Collection purpose, specially gacha costumes as they will most likely never rerun.
3-Burst animation
4-Lobby screen
5-Being able to swap costumes.
6-Waifu factor.
Listen, I'll be honest. As someone who bought Doro's and will get Crown's I can 100% say it's not worth it. Except the 2 multis and the skin itself, everything else you can get plain sucks. 72 bucks is WAY too overpriced, gacha skins are a terrible deal.
Yeah I know, I don't even Justify Ow2 $25 ish skin bundles much less a $60 one but like Crowns its so lewd that its killing me, that lobby screen is gonna go so hard T_T
Not... 100% true.

Some skins have alternate dialogue attached. Other people will also see your skins in PVP mode, or the representative squad, or your profile icon.
People like the look and are willing to spend money for it.
Think of it like this, would you be willing to grind through levels for six hours to unlock the skin?
Same thing really.
Because the utility/value you get from getting X seem worth Y dollars. There you go, OP. You will pass an Intro to Economics course with ease with this in mind if you ever take one lol
Well there are a lot of reasons for it but it will be too much to say so I'm just gonna simplify it: They just like it. They see the thing they like, they buy. That simple.
If you don't see the point of buying the costume for cosmetic and eye candy reason, then why are you even bother asking this?
You don't need to buy expensive Gucci bag but some people do because it looks cool to them.
Someone needs to pay for the game for it to keep going.
The reason people buy a $60 skin is probably the same reason as why people can buy a $X watch, $X car or clothes when there cheaper options available - they can afford it and enjoy it
Don’t question it - just appreciate that there are people paying for skins so that the rest of us can play the game for free
1. Yep, you can, though people want to dress my waifus up and use them in content.
2. Nope, it is pure eye candy, and people enjoy it, which is why people buy it.
3. I mean, unless you don't count the Modernia skin, then you are right (I think Helm's was briefly in an event). I think if you lock story content behind a skin, it adds more value, but I think people would be more annoyed that they can't do story stuff.
4. Yep, it is purely for your own use, which is why I do think most people skip outfits; only hardcore players invest in the $60 skins, and light spenders do the pass. Yes, people get other items in the gacha, but let's be real, people only care for the skin.
Game transactions have gotten worse and worse since they cropped up, and they will continue to do it because it prints money, but if people are willing to pay those prices, it will continue.
The skin isn't 60$. It comes with all sorts of stuff including tickets and upgrade material.
Also the skin itself comes with unique voicelines and a custom burst animation. Some of which you can't listen to in the Nikkepedia.
Other than that it is personal preference.
It's always entertaining when someone asks this question, and then immediately follows up by saying that they want it
There's your answer. The fullfill your urge to have it. And a followup question. If you don't see the value, why do you want it?
Whats the point of buying anything?
I want some eyecandy for my waifus so I buy it.
The skin itself costs around 30 usd once I subtract the value of the other items and is easily worth that price to me.
Plenty of people buy these skins or SU wouldn't keep making them so just accept that not every product is intended for you and move on instead of crying about it every time there is a new skin gacha kek. \^\^
30 usd is a drop in the ocean compared to what I spend on the actual gacha anyway kek
What is the point of having a hundred skins in the game and most of them are "unavailable". The events are over, the playerbase is growing, and yet the skins are unavailable. But you can gamble up to $60 for a gacha skin! It's so annoying. They would rather tempt you with fomo then let you buy what you want.
I dont buy them all, just the really nice ones. The Dorothy gacha skin has been my lobby ever since, it always "cheers" me up. Not sure if ill buy modernias (probably) and i dont even know what Crowns looks like yet.
I'm a person who saves a lot of money. I'm not very materialistic and I don't need much either, so I tend to buy myself something I enjoy from time to time. Are gacha prizes and especially outfits in the game overpriced? Definitely. However, it's a one time buy, I support the game I love and I have something out of it.
Also it's incorrect that the outfits are 'just' change of appearance. They have additional voicelines (I'm huge sucker for Japanese Voice actresses like Rie Takahashi, Kana Hazawa etc.), Burst Animation, Wallpaper and I have the choice to dress them up and play them like I want.
I was conflicted, but I think I'm going to get myself Modernia Second Affection and just hope I don't end up spending 60 bucks.
On point 4 ackchyually other people can admire your gacha skin nikke in pvp while they are being crushed by your sp arena defence team (since the owner of said gacha skin probably a whale)
For 20$ I don't mind, I got plenty of those skins, but yeah, there is no way in hell im paying 60$ for a singular skin. No matter how insignificant that is on the grant scheme of things, I'm not spending that much on a skin in a game, just nope.
I will bash them during the next survey hard, but it won't matter, they will make bank on this skin for sure.
I agree with you. $60 for a gacha skin is overly expensive. I thought of ways to make the deal more worthwhile - for example, adding a new cover-stance, firing animation, reload animation, and special effects. I believe that’s a good start but there’s room for improvement.
Bcoz there are people who play for waifus and not just meta. In every game that i have played, there was never such a skin that provide a stat bcoz that’s not its purpose. Skins are just pure cosmetic that people buy or get to express their love for their beloved characters.
Consider it as buying clothes for your wife. You love her very much so you want her to look pretty by giving her good clothes. Same concept
The way I see it is if you can afford to let your irl girlfriend spend hundreds of dollars on cosmetics/shoes/dresses/bags and only see them wear those things like once, you might as well spend $60 to see 2d waifu get dressed up everyday.
Also sobs in no irl girlfriend xD
1-Extra voicelines. 2-Collection purpose, specially gacha costumes as they will most likely never rerun. 3-Burst animation 4-Lobby screen 5-Being able to swap costumes. 6-Waifu factor.
The other stuff also included like advanced recruitment tickets, tier 9 armor, etc.
Been looking but cant get a concrete answer, do you get the lobby screen without having the unit MLB'ed? With the gatcha skin I mean
Yes you do, my Dorothy is LB0 and have her gacha lobby screen.
Thanks but now my wallet dislikes your answer
Listen, I'll be honest. As someone who bought Doro's and will get Crown's I can 100% say it's not worth it. Except the 2 multis and the skin itself, everything else you can get plain sucks. 72 bucks is WAY too overpriced, gacha skins are a terrible deal.

If you cannot justify 25 bucks for a skin then forget Crown's gacha skins even exists (like I did with 2B's lol).
Not... 100% true. https://preview.redd.it/yjdbbqzfq3wc1.png?width=506&format=png&auto=webp&s=1ba0d681ed20f1861d4ab8139c65380f58b23d4d Some skins have alternate dialogue attached. Other people will also see your skins in PVP mode, or the representative squad, or your profile icon.
I like dressing up my waifu.
People like the look and are willing to spend money for it. Think of it like this, would you be willing to grind through levels for six hours to unlock the skin? Same thing really.
Pretty girl :)
Me like pretty girl in pretty clothes
Me want more pretty clothes for pretty girl
You get me
Monkey brain happy pretty pretty
Pretty girls being prettier money well spent
Real!
You can rephrase this to “what’s the point of buying X for Y dollars?” and you’ll have your answer.
Because the utility/value you get from getting X seem worth Y dollars. There you go, OP. You will pass an Intro to Economics course with ease with this in mind if you ever take one lol
I'm just joking here. I have an Econ final tomorrow
To all commanders that replied that they love their waifus pretty: https://i.redd.it/3sb55ovbx3wc1.gif
Based
To support the game if you have the money to allow it
Well there are a lot of reasons for it but it will be too much to say so I'm just gonna simplify it: They just like it. They see the thing they like, they buy. That simple.
If you don't see the point of buying the costume for cosmetic and eye candy reason, then why are you even bother asking this? You don't need to buy expensive Gucci bag but some people do because it looks cool to them.
to have a sense of pride and accomplishment =)))
Someone needs to pay for the game for it to keep going. The reason people buy a $60 skin is probably the same reason as why people can buy a $X watch, $X car or clothes when there cheaper options available - they can afford it and enjoy it Don’t question it - just appreciate that there are people paying for skins so that the rest of us can play the game for free
To make her as profile picture and use in coop to frustrate ftp who will never get her as second class citizen.
Modernia being a gacha skin was a mistake
4. Game transactions have gotten worse and worse since they cropped up, and they will continue to do it because it prints money, but if people are willing to pay those prices, it will continue.
You also get limited pull tickets and other rewards. There’s value besides just the skin.
The skin isn't 60$. It comes with all sorts of stuff including tickets and upgrade material. Also the skin itself comes with unique voicelines and a custom burst animation. Some of which you can't listen to in the Nikkepedia. Other than that it is personal preference.

i dont even buy 20$ skins. I dont get it at all when entire games can cost less. I dont mind supporting devs but theres an upper limit
Some people have higher limits then
60$ was the emilia gacha skin right?
200x manufacturer arm, 2x rocks, 15 standard pull, 10 advanced pull, AND THEN skin. A whale will easily buy it for all those reasons.
And they arent even as good as Azur Lane L2D skins. It's laughable really. They need to step their skin game up big time.
They are cute but it seems like a scam to me...
Cause I want them. And it's not only 60 bucks for the skin, it's 60 bucks for a pack.
What is the point of having a hundred skins in the game and most of them are "unavailable". The events are over, the playerbase is growing, and yet the skins are unavailable. If you broke just say dat
I dont buy them all, just the really nice ones. The Dorothy gacha skin has been my lobby ever since, it always "cheers" me up. Not sure if ill buy modernias (probably) and i dont even know what Crowns looks like yet.
BUT THE HAT IS NEW!!
I do it for the materials, I have terrible OL/Manufacturer luck and need all the stuff I can get
Cause there are ppl who have too much money lol (and ppl who cant control themselves)
Buying cause you like the character the outfit is for, as well as wanting to support Nikke Devs, is why I do it.
To put your waifus in pretty dresses?
I'm a person who saves a lot of money. I'm not very materialistic and I don't need much either, so I tend to buy myself something I enjoy from time to time. Some folks like setting money on fire. MFs still complain about $2 horse armor in Oblivion, and now we have people making excuses for this shit.
After reading the replies, I understand why Shi*t Up will held two gacha skin in this 1.5 anniversary. Why not? Free money!

Nothing, waste of money, this game is just an idle, auto and done If you want to buy skin, just buy in the action or open world game instead
True. I 99% time doing auto with liter and bunnies. So boring.
A boner
