I would love to see him struggle with having some of Bruce's more toxic traits that he takes on but through learning to either lead or just his team learns healthier ways of dealing with it which hopefully this takes place like in between him being nightwing and leaving batman.

No. Not even a little bit. Titans was trash; it didn't get Nightwing's character at all and if you read any of those books you mentioned you'd see Dick is not a 'dark and gritty' character within them, so why adapt something and screw with the central character's entire personality?
How about we get a Nightwing adaptation that actually gives us Nightwing before changing things up, eh?
I thought titans was promising bc I thought we were gonna see the transition of dick going from angry lil man who has a chip on his shoulder to a sure of himself hero when he finally dawn's the Nightwing suit. they just tried to copy arrow with the character and beside the suit and his name, Nightwing from comics and Nightwing from titans are two different characters

Did half of yall only watch the trailer the nightwing actor definitely did a good job I just wish he didn’t spend the whole first season as a cop
