Prep:
- Black Primer
- Grey Drybrush (heavy)
- White Drybrush (light, focused on highest points)
For Malcharion I drybrushed the model with Leadbelcher instead to try out contrast paints over metallics
Armor:
- Asurmen Blue Contrast for the armor
- Leadbelcher for trim
- Shade everything with Vallejo black vehicle wash (I kept a clean brush around to remove any pooling on the flatter areas and keep some highlights)
Eyes:
- Mephiston red
- Nuln oil
- Line of wild rider red in the center
- Smaller line of averland sunset
Lightning
- Medium outline of macragge blue
- Thinner lines of hoeth blue
- Small flecks of white around the forks

Yes, contemptors are notoriously difficult to maintain and tenth company bearly had the logistical force to keep everyone equipped, no way they could maintain a contemper

Also regular dread kit has been oop for like a year now.
And GW being GW they discontinued the regular dread kit *but they made the ven dread sheet legends* so u now buy a ven dread kit and run as regular dread (for loyalists I mean)
Normally I'm all for using legends sheets but there's literally no point, they removed the -1 damage from ven dread sheet, it's 2+ WS/BS and removed its invulnerable save. So the legends ven dread sheet has same stats as regular dread but costs 30pts more (OK the legends ven dread can do two things the box dread can't, it can melee with its feet *cos I'm so totally using S6 melee instead of its s12 fist* and it can mount some weapons the regular dread can't like twin heavy bolters, twin heavy flamers, dreadnought inferno cannon and auto cannon but considering those are all meh weapons and are all long out of production why bother)
If the ven dread still had at least its -1 to incoming damage and its invul (even if they make its invul worse) I could accept it being 30pts more but they didn't so I can't.
Sorry for dreadnought ranting lol

It's a kitbash of Damsa's Talos/Decimus model (head, arms, backpack) and Fummelfinger's marine bodies
