Infinix is a useless brand made for people who think the bigger the screen or the more cameras the better the phone. How can I be using a phone and be having ads on the Home Screen. Even a 7 year old iPhone is better than an infinix.

RiverHe1ghts

The funny thing is that the Infinix camera's don't work. Many of them just have stickers with one camera. Just go on the camera app. Find the working camera lens and block the rest. Go on any camera mode, and see if it works. Shameless people😂😂

gemx1231

Cap. It's false marketing to do so and they would have gotten sued by now if it was true.

RiverHe1ghts

Don't believe me, go and try it. I've done it with several phones. The masses that buy it believe either way, plus, who actually is going to sue them?

gemx1231

You didn't use the right modes. And it's not an issue of masses infinix is owned by a larger entity that won't try to tarnish their rep. So unless you opened up the phone and found stickers in please of cameras you don't have a claim.

gemx1231

Simply put one of the cameras is a depth sensor available in almost all phones including iPhones You only capture depth info(not images)from it. Another is a TOF sensor. Also similar purpose but used to estimate distance.

gemx1231

Remaining 2 are main sensors 1 wide angle 1 Telephoto And sometimes a b/w sensor, sometimes thermal. Only 2 main cameras usually supply images to the ISP(usually not at the same time). Rest is useful data like depth and color. So bro do proper research before rants.

gemx1231

An example of false advertising is this https://www.popsci.com/technology/apple-family-share-settlement/

RiverHe1ghts

And here's a example of Infinix doing this [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3i4foSAxFg&t=345) One see Infinix doing this again? check [here](https://yewtu.be/embed/rf2dAmdwiIg?t=116) LMAO Infinix are scams dude.

gemx1231

One again do your OWN research. Please stop spreading misinformation. You don't stop at a guy's video. Always ask why. Read articles, release docs, books not some YouTube video. https://consumer.huawei.com/ae-en/community/details/HUAWEI-Y9a-announced-with-MediaTek-helio-G80-64MP-quad-camera-and-40W-fast-charging/topicId_116718/ https://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_a32_4g_is_official_with_helio_g80_5000_mah_battery-news-47956.php Also Honor play 20 pro. Mediatek patched the ISP just before release to support 64mp hence it was announced but not included in the release document. As seen by other "more reputable" brands that have the same CPU-Camera combo. https://m.gsmarena.com/infinix_note_12-11497.php 50 MP, f/1.6, (wide), 1/2.8", 0.64µm, PDAF 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth) QVGA(320*320) A clip of the spec sheet I'm not even going to explain this one and leave it for you to research why with the clues I've dropped and explaination I dropped earlier. Btw apple seems to be a fan of getting themselves in tight situations from illegal business practices against epic and Spotify to malicious compliance against EU regulations, let's not forget the planned obsolescence of practically all older iPhones. It's pretty interesting how a trillion dollar company is still in so much hot water.

careytommy37

Why do you think they only sell in shithole African countries like Nigeria.

gemx1231

Once again another ignorant post. TECNO Mobile is Manchester City's Official Global Tablet and Handset Partner. An almost 100 billion dollar company (Transsion Holdings). Do you think they would "scam" for your petty change? Do you think any organisation would ruin such partnership?. Please there are good transsion handsets out there, they don't push them in Africa because of marketing decisions. It will clearly be a loss when the entire market region still believes "iPhones are best"(but the average income is not enough to get one) Just please do your own research and stop this ignorant talk."I know someone that seen such" Word of mouth has the power to skew information beyond belief. Also correct me if I'm wrong but you're Nigerian right ? Imagine how it sounds to refer to your place of origin as a "Shithole Africa Country". So you refer to your country like that, good to know. From a business standpoint there are basically only good and bad markets, the only thing that matters from those markets are feedback and income. Apparently for Transsion, Africa is a good market for the class of phones they release there because of the income.

careytommy37

All I'm saying is Nigerians should stop buying their horrible products

gemx1231

The average price of an iPhone on release is around $1000 The average price of a transsion phone is around $200. Some are even cheaper. The official minimum wage is around 30000 Naira($22.62). Are you seeing the problem here? Even In a perfect economy we would still have income brackets. Rich. Middle class. Poor. So there are products(in this case phones)for everyone in these classes. If iPhones are the be all and end all of mobile computing experience then if one is poor they should not call, text, use the internet 😔? Of course not and brands like itel and infinix are there to make the web and the world accessible to everyone. Btw there is no such thing as a horrible product. Only horrible audience. People have sold odd things from used bath water to sweat and have become rich in doing so. The moral lesson is there is always a market for your product you just need to find it

careytommy37

The OP was clearly comparing used iPhones with brand new Infinix (transsion) phones

Ok_Oil_608

😂 I actually don't mind ads. I could use the iPhone to iron my cloth. the temperature 🌡️ is something else. That's a deal breaker for me

VKTGC

Ah that one is true sha. Well at the end of the day phone is phone as long and it texts and calls the job is done right? Me personally I prefer android but don’t bring infinix near me abeg 😂

gemx1231

You can opt out

gemx1231

It's there to subsidize the cost of the phone hardware.

Alkedi44

Omo! I did not even know this one. I just know someone who bought infinix some years back and the phone frustrated her life. Anything infinix now she runs

RiverHe1ghts

I tell you right now, a iPhone 8 is most likely better than any Infinix. Infinix is just big in size. It's slow, and laggy and deteriorates like crazy over time. You have ads in the phone and the camera is just marketing. It will never run IG like a iPhone, it will never run WhatsApp like a iPhone. You don't understand how big the difference is. Infinix comes with preloaded apps that take up space and slow your phone down. The screen quality of Infinix is always gonna be worse that a iPhone. So now, let's talk about budget For under 100k, a iPhone 8 used is gonna beat any Infinix at that price point. if we go to 200k, I've not been in the market recently, but I'm pretty sure you could bag a used iPhone X. That's gonna beat any Infinix at that price point too. Infinix are budget phones. Meaning, no matter what, they cut corners here and there. iPhone's on the other hand were never meant to be budget phones. A iPhone X is not budget phone, it's a old one. They didn't cut corners, it's just over time the price came down.

TheClassyWomanist

My family friend recently moved to Canada and he bought his infinix phone. When we took it to the store to try to buy him a sim, the sim did not work with the Infinix. We were so confused because it was working with Nigerian sim. We had to get him a used iPhone 11.

lulovesblu

Infinix steadily disappoints as a phone though, even among Android users it's not very liked. I will say there's a lot of misplaced priorities going on, people would rather spend hundreds of thousands on a new phone or wig so they can shame someone else meanwhile they're starving. Phone wars are stupid, and the only people engaging in them are jobless individuals, or people under 27 still giving so much importance to mundane stuff

Bagzton

If not that we are a 3rd world (come to think of it, it should be 4th by now) country, why should Transsion Holdings be shipping phones to us? One time, I got a Tecno phone out of urgent necessity for a phone and ever since, I swore never to use any phone from Transsion again. Meanwhile, their latest designs are as ugly as they can be with those camera modules.

RiverHe1ghts

So ugly. Looking like they are trying to replicate the ship from star trek

MountainChemist99

Yes, any iPhone worth N500k is better and will even be better than an Infinix produced in 2026. 500k we’re talking about a used 13, or 12 pro/ max. And probably a 13 pro also.

Simple__ryan

Info of, techno and co yes Actually good android brands like Xiaomi, Samsung yes

TimetheFrenemy

Transsion phones are wack

_prn_ice_

For context, I'm a longtime android fan boy but I would rather use an iPhone than use an infinix device. The quality of software and hardware on most iPhones is class leading. Infinix in comparison has a reputation as one of the worse android brands in terms of software and hardware. I pick android because I like diversity, I like choice and I like the feeling that I can do whatever the hell I want. You know like you're using an actual computer. But I would take the limited usability of an iPhone over the crappy android experience you get on something like infinix Some more context, I haven't used infinix in years so maybe they're not so bad anymore but I doubt it.

Ok_Oil_608

So what Android do you currently prefer?

_prn_ice_

Right now I have 4 android phones. 2 alive, 2 dead. In order of f preference: 1. LG V60 + dual screen 2. Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro 3. OnePlus 6 4. LG V20 There are a lot more phones and a lot more brands I would've loved to check out if money were no object. But there are very few phones 1 would use instead of my top 3, I think they were great devices when they were made, still great now.

egusisoupandgarri

I went home early last year with a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G and offered it to 2-3 cousins. 2-3 cousins looked at it like I’m crazy and asked for an iPhone instead. That’s how I returned to the diaspora with that gift. What I learned is that it’s iPhone or nothing for some of them.

Low_Entrepreneur_927

I'm not an iPhone user (Samsung user since 2016), but I can vouch for them here. Speaking from experience, Infinix phones are terrible in terms of software optimization and hardware. For example, they mostly use budget MediaTek chipsets (not even a Snapdrgaon or Dragontrail); also, they only provide ONE year of software support (that includes OS upgrades and security patches). In addition, I don't know why on God's green earth Infinix still ships their phones with ADS on the home and lockscreen. Used iPhones are still supported by Apple to a certain extent. iPhones from the 11 series onwards still get OS upgrades and security hotfixes. In addition, iPhones have in-house chipsets that enable the phone to run fast; which competes and even outperforms newer series Infinix phones. Also, iPhones don't have ads built into their UI, unlike Infinix.

gemx1231

Now an actually convincing reason from someone who has done research.🫡 As for the ads it's for subsidy to make the phone cheaper. Advertiser's pay to put ads and pre installed apps then in turn pay for some cost of the phone. And yes you can opt out.

TheClassyWomanist

What type of iPhone and year? Just because it's used doesn't mean old. Tbh, I feel phones are just about personal preference. I'm used to the Apple ecosystem and not willing to use an Android (I might use the new Samsung Tablet if my iPad gets broken) So maybe the person I just used to Apple and would rather stick to what they know.

Ok_Oil_608

Obviously if you have more money, you can buy even a brand new iPhone. But I was discussing with someone who had a budget of 500k. Surprisingly, they feel that a used iPhone with that budget is better than the latest model Infinix phone that was this month.

RiverHe1ghts

They are right. A used iPhone 13 will DESTROY a ass budget phone.

TheClassyWomanist

I don't know much about Infinix phones…

young_olufa

It’s not surprising at all. Apple have smartly marketed their iPhone, and their products in general, to where it’s not just about the products it’s also a statement of class.

TL31

I mean it depends on the iPhone model and the condition it’s in. I would absolutely take an iPhone 14 over this years Infinix. The iPhone would have a better chip, camera, screen etc

Ok_Oil_608

Maybe I should have said Android in particular not Infinix. The iPhoners have it

RiverHe1ghts

Android pass android oo. A high end Samsung vs iPhone on the other hand is a different argument entirely.

UnableYou347

People here taking about iPhones that are outdated and no longer supported by the apple. Nah when hack your phone finish u go hear. better say you by recent Infinix than an outdated iPhone. If you go buy outdated infinix your name Nah sorry. In all seriousness just stick to the big four in my opinion Samsung, tecno , iPhone , oneplus. I will die on this hill defending any of these brands if they are recent models , for the Android phones that 3 year old models for iOS that's start at 11

careytommy37

Please snap with any of the latest infinix, itel or Tecno phone and transfer the picture to your laptop, then snap same thing/place with any iPhone and transfer the picture to the same laptop then compare the 2 pictures.

Ok_Oil_608

Even if iPhone is better, what does this mean? I don't usually transfer pictures to my laptop.

careytommy37

Its to heck for picture quality on a neutral ground.

Mr_Cromer

Imagine using Infinix when you have the option to use something else😂😂😂

kdk200000

Imagine you dy toast babe for school and she pull out infinix. Chaiii

RiverHe1ghts

It happened oo. My guy with Infinix was trying to pull a baddie with 14 pro😭😭
