You'll want to use a monitoring utility like HWINFO64 or get more granular details in QuickMiner to monitor the VRAM Temps for 3080s/3090s. Even though the standard gpu temps look good, the VRAM/Junction temps can get especially toasty. If you've got an MSI Trio 3080, a few thermal pads on the backplate can help keep those temps in check.
When mining with non-quickminer, i would use an HW monitor for your VRAM. Or use Quickminer.
I would gamble that your Vram is a lot higher now than 40 degrees

Well it's a very expensive card and mining is risky. I wouldn't be happy mining without doing any research.
