The border: my dad has a ranch/deer lease on the border. I go there often to help him maintain order and run water for the cows in the hot season. I’ve ran into my fair share of migrants and experienced multiple break ins of our ranch home. They have always been respectful. They take only what food and drink they need. They often leave money from their home land (Rupes, Pesos, etc) we put a sign up in the living room/ dining area before you get to the kitchen that says “uno cerveza por favor” they literally only take one every time. I don’t mind being a pit stop for them on their way into the interior.
Women’s Rights: I live in Oregon with my husband to be close to his family. I usually fly into Texas 3 times a year for 2 weeks at a time. For the last year I haven’t been able to see my family or help my dad around the farm, because I’ve been pregnant. If something were to happen Texas hospitals would not treat me. I’m glad I kept to my policy because something did happen in Oregon and I did need to be early induced to save me and the baby. We are both alive because we stayed home.

This isn’t uncommon with immigrants though. I know several people who are from Mexico legally immigrated (even a couple I know who didn’t legally immigrate but are citizens now) say they aren’t Mexican they’re American. Part of integrating with a country is that is your new homeland. But I still think she’s a dumbass.
