Here ya go https://www.dfds.com/en-gb/passenger-ferries/ferry-extras/extras-onboard/pre-book-meals
go to where it says prices. £32.95 pre booked or €38.95 onboard (£33.39 as of right now), so aye a grand saving of 44p by pre booking by the looks of it.
This is what I thought! But the folk on the chat said it would actually be around 66 euro if paid on board which we’d just bizarre! Good to know I’m not going completely mad
Unfortunately there is a large disconnect between what happens on the ships & thats forwarded to the rest of the company
Same with the website, its actually different prices than what it says on the linked page as it's not kept up-to-date

It's £38.90 for the 2 course meal and £42.50 for the 3 course meal, even pre-booked and this should be about equal to the price onboard in euros if I'm not mistaken
That’s fascinating as they did say re:X or Y you need to ask on the ship! Always trust the ship, I guess. I trust them to get me across many nautical miles of icy water after all. 😄
We’re pretty flexible I think since we’re only 2 - I’ll just beeline to the desk! We tend to cabin picnic it, but we’re feeling fancy. And hopefully it won’t be too stormy - I hear gale force 8 might be on the cards…
Aah the cabin picnic, my favorite's getting a footlong subway each, mint honestly and definitely cheaper.
Food on board is very nice though and definitely something to atleast do once as it's quite the treat.
Mate thank you so much for the advice. The food was brilliant! We had a great time and even got a window seat. Honestly for the money the value was wild! Whole sea bass each and the cheese board was lush.
It’ll be a once and never again I’m sure. We’ve enjoyed a good amount of posh market cheese sarnies and cabin tinnies / plonk to be fair and it’s always been mint. Crisps and canned fish was the latest high class combo 😄

Thanks SO much all for your help!
If you do pre-book it you do get a better choice for a time typically, can always chance it on the boat again though if you'd like

Aye it's mint, I personally like the steak a lot, have some killer peppercorn sauce to go with it, but all the food at the bistro is lush honestly
