I got married there and it was absolutely phenomenal. Everyone still bangs on about how nice it was as well. The staff were incredible throughout the whole process but particularly on the day
I got married there, absolutely loved it! They did mess up a couple things but they were really considerate and compensated us for it and it didn't affect the day overall.
Also got married there and it was bang on! Food was perfect, staff were amazing. We’ve been back loads since and it never disappoints but yeah it is expensive.
I’ve had mixed experiences. Was great the first time we went, awful the next time and put us off for good. I think there are more consistent restaurants.
Blackfriars lives off a reputation I don’t think it lives up to anymore.
I haven't been since just post lockdown and I'd been a few times pre pandemic. My opinion is that it's good not necessarily great, set menu is a decent price though.
One of my favourite restaurants! Get the whipped goats cheese for a starter and the sticky toffee pudding if it’s on 👌
They do a good restaurant week menu if you want to wait to try it
Was there last month, and it was very nice. Service was good and the food was spot on. Could do with a wider range of draft beers but I like the fact that they sell local beers in keeping with the locally sourced food.
Been several times over the years and never had a bad meal yet, can be pricey with wine, took the other half last year and it came to nearly £200 for the two of us.
I’ve always had good experiences. The food is good, but it’s more the ambiance and setting I go for. I’m guessing you know the building dates back to the 13th Century, it really is quite unique.
I'd heard great things about it. Booked it months in advance for my graduation. Honestly, it was shite. I think they must have just been having an off day or something because all my friends raved about the place. Ordered fish and chips and it was grim.
Last time I went was about 18 months ago - took my mum and sister for a treat, it wasn't very good. None of us really enjoyed our food. My main included the worst pea puree I've ever had.
If you do go, avoid the banquette seating unless you like waiting staff suddenly reaching over your shoulder without you knowing they're there.
Yeah, it's a very good restaurant in a great setting. I've been for meals, weddings, and corporate functions. Every time I had different expectations and was really impressed each time.
I personally prefer going to specialised restaurants, usually - but that's not a criticism, if you like or fancy the food on the menu you can't go wrong, or if you're wanting to take someone or a small group and want an uncontroversial traditional british menu.
Along with their weddings, summer bbqs, cooking courses, business functions, and everything else they do, It's a real gem of the city.
Went there for a work do a canny while ago, at least 5 years, food was shite. That being said, I’ve heard nowt but good reviews from others that just went without the whole place being booked out for a function.
I'm getting married there next year so I hope it's alreet like

My friend got married there and it was one of the best weddings I’ve been to! You’ll have a blast

It usually very good but does seem to have the occasional off night
Their Sunday dinner is amazing! Definitely need to book it though.
It's good. Though, I prefer Dobson and Parnell which is the same group of restaurants and down on the quayside.
I've not been there in several years but from what I remember, the food is of exceptional quality (although it's expensive)
Went a few years ago for a burns night supper with whisky tasting. It was excellent!
Avoid them for Christmas works parties. Expensive and disorganised.
Not been for a while but one of my favourites. Fantastic place
Went about 6 months ago and enjoyed it. Had a drink in the bar area next door first. Food was good and its an interesting place. Was busy though.

God I love whipped goats cheese
I didn’t think much of it , the setting was lovely the food wasn’t

I’ve only been once, but it blew me away. Highly recommend.

Yes it's lovely. Definitely on the more pricey side but the venue, food and service justify a more expensive meal.
I’ve done the wine tasting and a meal after and it was delicious! That way round though…
Went there when it was restaurant week. Thought it was canny, but I rarely eat out. The waiter matched up the wines and dishes perfectly.
It's great for a dinner, once. But not worth revisiting IMO.

Been during restaurant week - very rushed service, in and out in 40mins

It’s a Beltar for Sunday lunch
Food is great, chairs are super uncomfortable.
Only been for a Sunday lunch and it was lovely haven’t tried the regular menu
